The Worst Experience! Long time customer - Edit
I've been going to Yaxche tearoom for about 2/3 years consistently to study, conduct meetings, chill with friends, and get work done. Never any "bad vibes" since going there. My best friend introduced me to this tearoom as she worked there previously as well. From the many years of going there, I've bought something every single time, supported the business any way I could by buying merchandise and tea, as well as bringing my friends there and they've become long time customers themselves. Unfortunately, I must stop supporting this business because of a recent experience I had. I went there to get some work done and one of the girls comes up to me and says "The bar is inside, are you getting any food?" , mind you I was in my zone, I was there for about an hour. I reply no and I go back to what I was doing. I get up to leave and thought nothing of it. The next day I come to get some work done again for an hour, just a quick chill session and I generally sit outside. A different girl today comes up to me and asks "The bar is inside if you would like to get food" I said ok and went back to work. No more than 15 minutes later, the same girl comes up to me and says "My manager wants you to know that it's our policy that you must buy food." I said With all due respect, of all the years I've come its always been a chill area to get work done and thats never been a policy. She replies "well it's our policy and in order for you to occupy a table you must order." At this point, I'm taken a back, no where in this establishment does it state this policy, but I brush it off and I decide you know what I'll order a cookie, because it's whatever I'm annoyed but it's cool. I finish up what I'm doing in about 15 minutes, I walk inside and I go to the bar to look at what kind of cookies they have and as I am about to order the manager/owner comes up to me and says "excuse me, I heard you had a problem with our policy". At this point, I'm very angry, I let her know I never had a problem with paying, I just never knew about this policy. Her words were "this is a restaurant, I have bills to pay and a business to run". Her energy and the way she approached me was very aggressive. From my observation, the many times I've come, many people haven't ordered they just chilled and studied. None the less the owner tried to make amends by saying "I don't want bad vibes". Unfortunately, the "bad vibes" are already there and I don't think I will be supporting this business any further. I
