Solid Pan-Asian option - Edit
Since I don't live in Gothenburg, I haven't really got round to visiting Yammy Kitchen much. However, I have been familiar with this place for quite some time, and so I must have visited it at least 4-5 times over the past decade or so. One improvement that I was glad to notice on my last visit was that they no longer charge you for the water! As I'm opposed on principle to paying for tap water, I find that to be a change for the better, no doubt. I remember having a spicy kimchi soup quite some time ago and sweating profusely, however I had already learned the lesson and was not about to pay a single krona for water. This might not have been noticed by staff, but the fact of the matter is that nobody came to my "rescue", which I found almost sadistic😄Some other change that I'm not happy about, though, is that prices have become somewhat steep when it comes to starters and desserts, but you do get your money's worth on the main courses. This place seems to be popular for take away too, which is not surprising considering the current pandemic. Another improvement could be made there too, namely for staff not to use the speaker when taking orders on the phone, as in my book it does not make for a good dining vibe. All in all, I might not be thoroughly thrilled about everything that has to do with Yammy Kitchen, but I'll always find their food interesting enough to come back for more.

Yammy half-authentic food - Edit
We had a kimchi bowl and bibimbap bowl. It's not your usual Western asian food, but more authentic flavors. It was tasty, well seasoned and spicy. There a seven clearly labeled vegan dishes and three more vegan noodle dishes.
Read moreIt was little bit pricey, around 200 kronor for a main dish. Water costs 10 kronor.

Very good asian food - Edit
We shared a Mapo Tofu. The place is quite pricy. Friendly staff, professional vibe, quality food. However, it was traditionally tasting (spicy, mostly). I could feel the love and care in the food, however. I prefer food with a sweet touch. This was more towards salty / umami, lacking that sweet / tangy extra. Still good though. Nice plating.
Read moreVery clearly labeled menu. I love that.
Pros: Friendly staff, Nice food (lol)
Cons: Price, Have to pay for water, Kinda crowded, usually have to book a seat

Great food, great service - Edit
We skipped the entrees and had three mains instead. Mapu tofu, kimchi jjigae and kimchi ramen all of which were clearly labelled in the vegan section of the menu. Absolutely delicious. We asked for extra spicy and it was spot on.
Read moreService was excellent from the staff, who were friendly and professional, and ordering was super easy via QR code (not an app, as others have mentioned).
Would definitely go back!
Pros: Fantastic service , Delicious food , Clean toilets!

Great food in an austere atmosphere - Edit
The place is a mix between having Asian decorations trying to make it authentic and a cold and bare lunch place.
Read moreThough we were the only people there for a bit just when it opened we were told everything had to be ordered through their app so if we had questions we'd have to approach the staff in the bar.
The place echoes so we heard the other people's conversations and children's videos.
The food and drinks arrived promptly and were delicious.
The pricing a bit high for no service and the cold and echoing
Pros: The food is good, Arrived swiftly
Cons: Pricing , Little service , Austere dining room

Great food - Edit
Has several vegan options for both starters and main courses. The deep fried tofu was very good. Most/all dishes are served with rice.

Good but not quite great - Edit
I had the agedashi tofu and mapo tofu. The agedashi was delicious but it wasn't really agedashi, it had more of a thick batter that you'd get on fried fish rather than the delicate fried corn flour coating it should have. It also wasn't sitting in the sauce but I guess people prefer to have control over that.
Read moreThe mapo tofu was enjoyable. It didn't have quite the same level of Szechuan pepper tingle as I'd had in a previous version. It had some mushrooms, peas, seaweed and peanuts in there along with the tofu and I found the crunch of the peanuts didn't really work in the dish.
You have to order using the app and I was having problems with my online banking at the time so it was an extra unnecessary layer of annoyance to the experience.

My favorite place - Edit
I eat here almost every week, obsessed with their kimchi jjigae. Udon noodles are great too😄a big section of the menu is vegan, lots of options. It's also a good place to bring non-vegans. They have non vegan options but I find it easier to get people to try this kind of vegan food than say a vegan pizza because ppl are sceptical about the meat & cheese substitutes.

Amazing - Edit
I wish I could give this place 5 stars, the only reason why I can’t is because it’s not fully vegan. I had the kimchi ramen and it was the best ramen I’ve ever had! Every element was so flavorful and delicious. My friend got the vegan udon noodles and it was also delicious.

Great food, needs more payment options. - Edit
I really liked the bibimbap, they have a good selection of dishes from different Asian options. Unfortunately my friend had to order for me im their app, as they are only able to process Swish and credit cards, but not standard bank cards like actual card readers. The food and staff were great though!

Make a Reservation! - Edit
I tried 2 times (alone)while I was in the city and it was always fully booked.First time was a Friday at 7 and second time a Thursday at 5 and both times I had to leave because this place was fully booked (although it looked pretty empty). So I can not recommend going there without a reservation. Fortunately there is a vegan burger place in the same street where I was twice.

Spectacular vegan options - Edit
.Lots of vegan options on the menu so I was spoilt for choice! They have a small vegetarian section as well so I could confidently order without worrying about hidden egg/fish. My partner and I both went for soup dishes and they were incredible! Mine was a kimichi ramen and had a plant-based beef style protein in which was delicious, perfect chewy texture and rich flavour. It also had types of mushrooms I'd never tried before, spicy and sweet tastes, was full of vegetables and bursting with flavour. I also tried sake here for the first time! So so delicious, I really recommend you treat you and a friend to this restaurant! Would give 5 stars if I could (happy cow limits to only fully veggie/vegan places).
