This place is amazing - Edit
2 years later and I’m just sitting here dreaming about this restaurant. It’s so yummy and authentic and inexpensive. I need to go back to Penang ASAP JUST to eat here again.

Incredible Indian Food - Edit
I’ve been craving good Indian food for the last year. I’ve been traveling consistently and hasn’t been able to find any until getting to Woodlands. Easily the best I’ve had in a long time. They do use dairy in their foods, but if you let them know you’re vegan, they’ll accommodate.

Good budget thali - Edit
I came to woodlands twice whilst I was in Georgetown. The service is good and staff can easily advise on vegan options. The Thali was huge and they substituted dishes to make this vegan. I also tried the masala dosa which was great. Some of the dishes were slightly bland but the portions were huge and prices low so I wasn’t too bothered about this!

Great food, very cheap and fast service! Can be somewhat loud because of the acoustics inside but who really cares if you have such great food?

Loved this place. - Edit
Literally the best Indian food I’ve ever had, aloo gobi fry is a must! Staff were friendly, although service was slightly slow. Place is very clean, but decor needs sorting, very dark. However we ate there 3 times!! Super cheap.

Das Essen war sehr günstig, lecker und scharf.

Good Indian, not spectacular - Edit
Food is not too expensive and tastes good. There is a sweet counter at the front so you can buy individual Indian sweets and savouries too.

Very disappointed, can't recommend - Edit
Came there with low expectations, but were still disappointed. Maybe because we were clearly foreign, but service was not good. The waiter didn't seem to understand us, and was neither willing to try. Brought wrong food. Everything we got was too spicy and lacked in everything else except greasiness. Got water, but it tasted heavily chlorinated. Will not come again.

Love it! - Edit
Best Indian I had since travelling in India! Super cheap, tasty and simple canteen place with great south and North Indian. Try the dosa, always a fav! Thali sets and lunch and the chains batura are all great. Visited several times. Would recommend if you like authentic Indian!

Best and cheapest Indian in little India - Edit
What a great find! I had the thali set for lunch there. The food was freshly cooked and tasty with crispy papadums. The side dishes served with rice are very generous, not oily or overcooked. Then I had masala dosa and idly for breakfast, which was also very tasty and fresh with great chutneys and sambar. The restaurant itself is air con and very clean. The owners and servers aren't the friendliest bunch, but this can easily be overlooked for the sake of great food and prices. Definitely will go back while I am in Georgetown.

Very tasty dinner - Edit
Came for dinner and was not disappointed. The place was packed all evening with people queueing for tables (Locals, Indians and foreigners alike!) I did have to ask which dishes were vegan (menu doesn't say) but the chef came to talk to me and knew exactly what I wanted and pointed out various things I could have, and ruled out a few others. I had the Masala Gobi (spicy cauliflower in a very tasty gravy) with onion bhajis (I double checked the dips were dairy free and he said they're made with coconut milk, not cows milk) and a plain roti, so no butter on it! I really enjoyed my meal and it was only $4!

Disappointment - Edit
It was absolutely not delicious or tasty, very simple food, they give us the same three souses at all dishes. They don’t have Carry, they don’t have rice (just cold and I don’t know then it was cooked). We really wish to go there two days, and this restaurant was disappointment.

dosa like we had in India - Edit
When you first walk in you will notice the restaurant is filled with Indians. Which is a good sign! The dosa was just like we had in Indian. So good! The Chana masala curry was a bit too greasy for me, but the naan made it all up for me. We requested vegan and it was no problem. They won't use ghee, unless you pick it from the menu.
