Delicious!! - Edit
Tried the chocolate cream pie, breadpudding, coffee cake and chocolte muffin. Loved them all except the breadpudding which was a little grainy most likely because if being gluten free. Will try more yummies here.

No Longer a Vegan Cafe (Wildflour bought Flying Apron and Changed the Menu) - Edit
I thought I was going to Flying Apron today, but was disappointed to learn that the cafe has been purchased by Wildflour. Only the pastries were the original Flying Apron vegan treats. Every other item for sale had egg, cheese, bacon. Even the breads and pizza dough! So sorry to see Flying Apron go.

Meh - Edit
Went for the first time today and only one out of the 3 things we ordered was good. I got a chocolate muffin and it was really more of a cupcake, but was fantastic. The blueberry scone was dense and dry, even for a scone. The mac and cheese was inedible.
Read moreWe were also told they “ran out” of vegan breakfast sandwiches. Which seems suspicious since it was only 1 hour after opening. We likely won’t be going back.
Plus the labeling of the breads and pizzas is confusing. Seems like most things outside of sweet baked goods are not plant based.
Pros: Variety of sweet baked items
Cons: Lack of savory vegan options, Confusing signage about ingredients

Edit2 - Nov. 29 2022: Flying Apron has been bought out and will start selling non-vegan foods in the future.
Read moreEdit: we’ve continued to get more and more things here. They’ve all been good and my lattes have fantastic. I’m giving the full 5 stars at this point. I keep coming back every Saturday for a reason.
We still come here about every other weekend because our son loves the donuts, but I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it to most people. My wife refuses to get her chai latte here because it’s not good, but she loves the scones. My vanilla latte has only been really good about 1/5 times. I don’t like the coffee cake that much, but I like the muffins.
Everything is gluten free, which doesn’t automatically make things…bad or “interesting tasting” to be frank, but man there are just certain items were you can really tell it’s gluten free.
We bought a slice of raspberry cake recently for my son. He took one bite and said it was bad and wouldn’t eat it. My wife tasted it, called me over to try the “worst cake she’s ever tasted”. I could barely swallow it. Unfortunately, it went straight to the compost.
But we also brought one of our friends here who said he had the best muffin he’s ever had
We do still come here. We try to support the vegan shops first, but you really just have to find out what is actually good here by trial and error.

Not a vegan restaurant - Edit
They offer diary milk for their drinks, it’s not officially on the menu, but they offer it in person, even assure patrons that it’s processed in completely separate equipment. Barista told me that they don’t claim to ve a vegan restaurant.

It was good - Edit
I stopped by here to get lunch when I was at the farmer's market. The food was good but didn't knock my socks off or anything. I tried the pecan sticky bun and the caprese pizza. The pecan sticky bun was yummy heated up, but I've had better baked goods. The "cheese" on the pizza was really lackluster and I scraped it off, but the rest of the pizza was flavorful enough. The ambience of the place was very nice.

We had the margherita pizza, salted chocolate chip cookie, maple muffin, and chocolate peanut butter pie. Everything was delicious but the favorites were for sure the pizza and the cookies! Love this place!

We loved all of the menu choices available. We indulged in a curry pot pie, Hawaiian pizza, and Thai tomato soup with mock rye bread. We also got teas. It was such a warm cozy meal to enjoy on a gray day.

Highly recommended - Edit
I highly recommend The Flying Apron! I had the Curry Pot Pie and my husband had the Mac’n Cheese. Everything was very delicious and fresh. The staff were very nice and brought us a complimentary chocolate donut to share after our meal. Nice atmosphere in a cool neighborhood. I only wish they were open for dinner.

Delish vegan sweets! - Edit
Went with my mom the day before her birthday and they gave her a free cupcake to take home! We loved their cupcakes and ended up buying a whole cake for a party the next day. It was coconut lemon hibiscus and decorated very pretty. The cake was very dense and physically heavy, but delicious! The hibiscus flavor lacked a little, but the coconut and lemon were just enough to not be overwhelming!
Read moreThe only downside was that the decoration was not perfect and it looked like halfway through icing the top, the pink color started to turn lighter/darker.
I wish they still had a shop in Redmond! :(
Pros: All vegan , Allergen friendly
Cons: Expensive for a whole cake, Not the best quality, but still great taste

Lovely treats and savories too! - Edit
Enjoyed the lasagna and my friends pot pie, tho entrees can be pricey and small. I haven't liked the muffins, but I'm a big fan of the donuts and truffles, and usually love the cupcakes and cakes! Lattes are nice too.😄

Bland savory food, yummy sweet treats - Edit
The sweet baked goods are generally delicious (LOVED their cinnamon rolls warmed w icing)! But every single time I tried the savory food they offer I was disappointed. It’s very bland. Lasagna was okay. Don’t like the Mac and cheese or soups. The gluten-free bread is especially awful. Everything is expensive too. Stick with the sweets, get your actual lunch somewhere else.

ok at best - Edit
I really wanted this to become a place that I could visit regularly, but the food and coffee is not good. Coffee is ok but overpriced compared to nearby places by ~$1. The food is basic vegan fare that I can make at home, and better at that. And so expensive! I decided to try some baked goods because that's something I'm not great at, and the muffin I had was strange and dense and ... oily? I'm usually easy to please, but this place really misses the mark.

I haven't tried a lot of items from here, because I keep going back to the tried and true ones I love the most! The lemon cake, the chocolate cake, the peanut butter cookies! All delicious! Try the Lasagna sometime, you won't be disappointed! The staff is very friendly and the place has a very good vibe to it.

Disappointed - Edit
I had heard amazing things about Flying Apron, and maybe that was the problem. I went in with expectations too high. The one thing that didn't disappoint was the customer service. The people behind the counter were very friendly and helpful! But the food was just OK. The BBQ tofu pocket (that may not be the exact name) had very little tofu and not much flavor beyond a one-note peppery taste. The pastry part was tasty, but oddly dense. The molasses cookie had very little flavor. Combine that with the extra-crumbliness of gluten free baking, and it tasted mostly like a mouthful of sand. The peanut butter cookie was better, but not amazing. Certainly not worth $3.50. I had been looking forward to trying this place, but can't imagine I'll go back.

Amazing baked goods! - Edit
I love the vibe of this bakery and their baked goods are so yummy! When I switched my family vegan, my daughter cried big tears at the thought of giving up all of her favorite foods. The next morning I took her to this bakery and she ordered a piece of chocolate cake that completely changed her outlook on being vegan. She said it was better than any cake she had ever had!

great place to eat! - Edit
This place is great and I always stop in whenever I'm in Redmond visiting friends or family. For one thing, they have good baked goods. Well, okay baked goods. Not the best vegan desserts I've had. They are a bit dense, dry, and not very sweet. They could stand to be fluffier, moister, and sweeter. But I really don't go in there for the baked goods anyways, ironically enough. The food is really good! The macaroni and chez is pretty amazing and I get a craving for it quite often. Their little personal veggie pizza is good too. And my fiancé likes the lasagna. Yeah, its all refrigerated in a cold case right in front of you and obviously taken out and heated up. So definitely not fresh. But it's good, and quick, if you're in the area and need a bite to eat!
Read morePros: good lunch/snack foods, warm vibe, board gamess, open mic nites, friendly service
