Good for quick lunch

personally didn't buy anything from the actual market, but I hopped in for a quick lunch and enjoyed it a lot. The amount and price of food you get is up to you as you just take a plate and grab anything you want. Many healthy choices suitable for vegetarians and vegans. It's not really on the cheap side, but it's nothing terrible for central London.

Pros: huge selection, good comfort food

Cons: very crowded, quite expensive

overcrowded

You just can't move inside. Way too many products making finding anything quite hard.
Look for better option

Pros: lots of vegan

Cons: busy

absolutely amazing!

Luckily I leave miles away from this place or I would over eat every day. They have a great selection of the best brands, a nice assorted bakery and food ready to eat in place or take away. Everything was delicious and the stuff very nice and helpful

Whole Foods in Europe!

At first I was skeptical about the assortment in this market, as it is one of few Whole Foods in Europe. I thought I would find the same produces as in US, but no! It is (almost) the same! London people, you are so lucky of having WFM.

Comparing to others, this WFM is pretty small, but it is worth of visiting as it sell many of things unavailable at other places.

Great range of vegan products

So many vegan choices here! Cupcakes, coconut yoghurt, cheese, sushi, marshmallows, wine... They also have a big warm buffet with a lot of vegan food for take away.

Lots of vegan bits and pieces

This place is very big and has a great range of supplies. Of course they are much more expensive than you would get elsewhere but they do stock a lot of harder to find items. They have Miss Cupcake cakes available which are lovely! Also sell the tofurkey range and vegan cheeses which are not available in a high street H&B.

Great vegan options

They stock a variety of vegan supplements, nutritional yeast, Tofurky roast and slices, vegan cheeses, etc. I've picked up some good bargains on nut butters and chia seeds in the discount displays. Always pays to compare the cost to other stores like Planet Organic or Holland & Barrett though.

Not worth it

A few years ago, when local shops didn’t carry many vegan items, Whole Foods was amazing because they had the products one couldn’t normally get in the UK. However, in the past couple of years, local health food stores started carrying many of these items and now it seems like Whole Foods is carrying less of them. This store didn’t have many vegan ready made options or frozen foods (the Camden store has more) so it is also difficult to predict how useful each branch will be for a vegan diet. Last night we were excited to go shopping here for the first time before heading back home, but were so disappointed that we didn’t find anything we couldn’t get in our hometown.

Cons: Less selection than regular natural stor, Not many interesting vegan items

All about the location

This Whole Foods is right behind the hotel I stayed at, so it was really convenient. Selection did seem limited compared to a regular Whole Foods in the US, but I do think this store is geared more towards tourists and people that work in the area. That wouldn't be a fair comparison. I came here just to pick up some soy yogurt and chocolate and was perfectly happy with what I got. It's definitely not the right place for grocery shopping... or the salad bar for that matter. Nothing for vegans that looked remotely appetizing. Plus, who comes to London to eat Whole Foods??

Pros: central location

Cons: selection

not the Whole Foods I know in the USA

We actually went to the Whole Foods on Kingsington Rd. We bought food from the salad bar. The vegan options were limited. They don't carry the same items in England than what we get in the USA. We bought the worst vegan yogurt we have ever tasted. Ended up throughing it away, it was that gross. We bought instant oat meal or porridge. That too was not that good either.

We went upstairs to eat our food, only to discover we could have bought vegan food, like a veggie burger.

I did not see an elevator to go upstairs. I don't know how people with disabilities would be able to get up there.

Cons: limited vegan options, some prepared foods were gross, no lift/elevators to eat upstairs.

Expensive

Very expensive, although it's a good place to go if you need to buy some specific brands and frozen vegan goods (the only place in London where you can buy Tofurky, even if it costs £30).
They have a good selection of milk alternatives, but coffee is not good, and more than once they prepared the wrong drink, or delivered it almost cold.
It would be better if they had vegan pastries.

Pros: Variety, Milk alternatives for coffee

Cons: Expensive, Coffee not so good

It's got the basics

This is the smallest wholefoods I've been to (alongside Camden's store) If you're looking for their main selection, make the effort to go to the HUGE one in Kensington instead. But this one covers the basics, I thought they had a nice selection of vegan cheese and tofu/tempeh. Certainly good enough to do your weekly shop in! =)

A beautiful, lascivious tofu cheese cake

A great place for vegan people in the heart of Soho, very near to Piccadilly Circus. actually the store is not totally vegetarian ( and neither completely organic), but it's possible to find a large variety of vegan options ( salads, tofu salads, calzone, rice salads, fresh cakes) to eat at the tables outsid or inside, or to take away in recycled plastic boxes; of course a very good choice of vegan food to cook too. Good choice of vegan, cruelty free and high quality cosmetics ( Faith in Nature, Jason...); there are also some vegan vitamins ( especially from Solgar).
Maybe the best food here: a lasciv tofu cheesecake made by Laura's idea, which should make people understand how useful tofu can be and how, actually, heavy and perverse cow milk is.

Super grocery store with cafe

Located on a busy street in Soho.

Grocery store with a salad counter, self service salad bar and a cafe on the ground floor. There are a few small tables inside and on the pavement outside. A security guard stands at the door.

Super versions of food and cleaning products from your regular suburban supermarket available. There are some great finds such as wasabi peanuts and flourless absinthe chocolate cake. There is also meat there. Upstairs also has vitamins, homeopathy products, sports medicine products, quite a wide range of skincare and a small book/ DVD section.

I thought it was very reasonably priced so got a shock when the salad I packed came to nine pounds 48 pence. Salad item prices are labelled so you can do the maths.

Pros: Decent range of groceries, Lots of ready meals for one inc sld bar, poss chill here for a bit

Cons: Salad bar a little expensive
