Friendly, busy & good food - Edit
We visited in December 2016 for a light lunch. Had some really tasty thick and nourishing soup with bread, followed by some super yummy slices of cake. Checked out meals being served to other customers and all looked nice! Busy place so obviously popular and deservedly so.

Proper British Breakfast - Edit
Located on a great street in the famous Lanes area, this place was a lovely find. I ordered the full English breakfast (must be ordered vegan) while my girlfriend ordered the mini version. Mini version is still a good feed, but it does not include a hot drink.
Read moreIt was the perfect British breakfast, matching my expectations and memories of the real thing. We sat out on the small terrace watching the world go by and enjoyed the friendly service and locals who clearly enjoy this place too.
The service was also friendly and prompt.
Pros: Great English breakfast, Good portion sizes, Ideal location
Cons: Not all vegan

Great for children (and grown ups!) - Edit
We have to visit here every time we go to Brighton. It is on my daughter's 'must do' list. She loves the waffles and the hot dogs! We have been for breakfast a few times and the fact that you can choose from a small or large version is great for us. The big would be too big for me but great for my husband. Always had good experiences when we have been here.

Fantastic Breakfast - Edit
Both times that I have been here I had the Full Vegan Breakfast and it was divine. The first time we sat outside with our dog and we all had different meals and drinks - no complaints. The second time I arrived really early on a cold Sunday morning and was welcomed in out of the Cold, before having another Full Vegan and it was lovely. Highly recommended.

Delicious breakfasts! - Edit
I love the vegan breakfasts here: the cooked breakfast is really delicious and hearty, and the pancakes are such a treat. We enjoyed them sitting in the sunshine last March, and it was just wonderful! The cakes on the counter and the rest of the menu looked really tempting too, I can't wait for another chance to visit.

good place to eat - Edit
Today we had dinner here and it was good. I had the veggie chilli vegan version and loved it. They put cheese over the nachos chips and let it melt. They also added humus and guacamole which made a nice combination. I also had a vegan chai with soy milk and ice cream and again it was very good.

Will never go here again - Edit
I've been going in here off and on when in Brighton for probably over 10 years. Whilst you could never say either the menu was that exciting or the food was that special at the prices they charged for central Brighton it wasn't too bad and at least I thought that it was safe from a vegan perspective.Unfortunately over the last year they have messed up my son's order of sausage and chips by giving Quorn sausages instead of the vegan alternative but both times we noticed and they were swapped with profuse apologies.Today however was the final straw as my son and myself popped in to get two of their vegan option banana milkshakes.I was quite specific when placing the order and even restated the order to another member of staff who came over to check if we had ordered yet. When it came to paying I was billed for two regular i.e. non vegan milkshakes and when I queried this was told that they had served us dairy shakes. I have been vegan for 27 years and whilst my son is pure veggie he is allergic to cows milk and so I was very upset by this. Whilst they did refund the money I was taken aback by the waiter accusing me of being aggressive when as far as I could see I was just being justifiably upset. If you cannot employ waiting staff who can correctly take orders when you advertise yourself as being vegan friendly then you either need to review your staff or review your menu.I will certainly never go back to this place and would have given them a lower rating than two if it was possible.

Was thinking to go here till I saw your review. That's terriible! I do hope your son wasn't too ill. If that had been me, it would have been disasterous. Id have been hospitalised! Stupid prats! - it's not always just because of ethics( though I am vegan anyway) but that's not the point! - poor you.

Super Breakfast!!!!!! - Edit
Best Vegan breakfast I have ever had...besides my own...but possibly beats mine because of the hash browns. I lived in America and didn't understand what the fuss was about hash browns until I tasted Wai's. I'm not a huge fan of baked beans but theirs were sooo gooood! Really difficult to get a good vegan English breakfast, this really was super! Just make sure you have plenty of room in your tummy. On another visit I had a stew had mushrooms and root veg. Delish... It was a review on the milkshakes that brought me there...it was very good indeed. Next trip, it's the pancakes!

I came here for a quick lunch with a friend this week and was very impressed. I had a delicious vegan wrap with tofu, peanut butter and leafy greens, but was intrigued by a number of other vegan items on the menu, and particularly the breakfasts. I'll definitely try and visit again!

Great cafe - Edit
Usually very busy, especially at the weekends. Relaxed atmosphere and great value. Most of the menu is very food - everything is vegetarian and there are a few vegan options, although there could be more. The wraps are very good - I would definitely recommend trying them. They also have quite a few vegan cake options.

Tasty food, plenty for vegans - Edit
We visited this twice last weekend and both times have nothing but praise for the food, I am vegan, my husband vegetarian and my friend an omnivore and we all loved the food we had. My husband and friend both enjoyed the 'All Day Vegetarian Breakfast' which was huge and, they said, delicious. I had a vegan 'Deli Wrap' one day and a 'Squash Curry' the next day and both were also plentiful and delicious (personally I would make the curry a little spicier but I know they have to cater for everyone). The place also has a great choice of juices and beer/wine/cider and a good range of hot drinks with the chance to buy a second cup for a £1.00. They had several wonderful looking vegan cakes and both days I had a scrumptious coffee and walnut. The prices were all very reasonable too. The only complaint I would make is on the second visit (a Sunday) they seemed to have less staff working and I had to wait around twenty minutes to order my dessert (just a piece of cake) and then half an hour for them to bring it afterwards. It's a real pity as otherwise I would have given the place five stars. I can understand food taking a long time to cook when busy but to cut a piece of cake and put it on a plate should not take so long. The sad thing is people were being turned away because there were no tables and we were taking one up for much longer than needed waiting for the cake. This didn't happen on the first visit so I can only presume it was a staffing issue. The only other gripe is for a place called 'Why Kick a Moo Cow' it is odd that it does serve dairy and even odder that they charge 20p more if you want soya milk in your drink. Perhaps they should think on that one. All in all though, we loved the places and will go there again when next in Brighton.
