Vegan junk food heaven!

Really cool place! Loved that it had a little store section that we could look around whilst waiting for our food. Not the best vegan junk food we’ve had (we personally found the cake pretty dry) but it was great for the price and there was loads of choice. We especially enjoyed the quesadilla and the chocolate tart. Quite a way out of the city centre but worth the trip 💚

Yummy vegan junk!

VX serve great, affordable vegan junk food. As well as selling frozen foods, vegan food cupboard essentials and VX merchandise. If you keep up with their social media, they often post daily/weekly specials that look yum! Also, the cakes here are incredible!

Pros: Dog friendly. , Fully vegan. , Affordable.

One of my favourite local spots

The actual cakes are impressive but a little dry as they’re frozen and defrosted. The sweet stuff in the cabinets are usually better. The sandwiches are a little bland but fairly priced and it’s great there multiple options. Some of the junk food is a little too junky and clearly made with fresh or super high quality ingredients but I guess that’s not in the name! I come here often for the atmosphere, for a solo coffee and cake to read a book etc

Pros: Amazing range of choice, Also sell fridge, freezer and pantry items etc, Great staff

Cons: Not super high quality food

Burrito

This is a really cool place with a ton of vegan options- basically a vegan junk food heaven. The cakes looked AMAZING although I didn't try one because I had a burrito and man, I did not need any more food after that. Perfect amount of spicyness & great flavours- even served in a wholewheat tortilla, which was a total score. Very filling. Worth a trip to Bristol just for that. The only thing I didn't really like was the décor. It was a bit too dark.

Pros: Burrito

Cons: Dark decor

Another diner

Not sure what I expected but it's another cafe that takes sausages, burgers etc out of the packet, puts it on a shop-bought bun and serves it to you. It's inexpensive, to be fair. The best bit was the milkshake, which still managed to disappoint as the donut was a bread donut from co-op or similar (not a fresh donut) and quite dry, I think it might've been yesterday's. I'd go for the regular, as opposed to the monster, shake. 3 stars for the ethos, cool decor and little shop.

Cheap and cheerful

They have lots of options and all at very good prices. I wasn’t so hungry, so went for the “ham” and cheese toastie. It did what it needed to. They also have items to buy from the freezer or their shelves. All round very good and worth a visit.

Best Kebab Ever!

A really lovely vibe, super friendly and chatty staff. The main thing though, is that the doner kebab I had will be forever in my thoughts, it was so delicious that I will be having dreams of it for quite a while! My omni boyfriend had the macaroni cheese which he announced was delicious, and he also enjoyed the apple pie, whilst I tucked into a jam doughnut. I do believe I will be back!

Pros: The most delicious doner kebab, Gorgeous customer service, Good music and nice vibe

I Love Vegan Junk Food!

This place is awesome, the decor is great. it is fantastic how they have incorporated both a vegan store and restaurant. The Staff were very friendly and helpful. Service was rather slow, drinks too about 5 mins to arrive, and the burrito took about 25 mins, and the place wasn't busy at the time.

The Food
My partner and I had the;

Chocolate Brownie. This was okay, a little dry, far from the best vegan brownie we have had. This was a disappointment.

Chocolate, Caramel, Hazelnut Cake. This was above amazing, the cake was fluffy, moist, rich, all with beautiful flavours. This was great value for the price as the slice was a lot bigger than expected. (would Highly Recommend)

Peanut Butter Coffee. This was pretty good, I enjoyed it, but it could have benefited from a slightly stronger peanut butter flavour.

Burrito (with added Guacamole, & Jalapenos. The burrito was the highlight of the everything we had. It was the best vegan burrito I have had. The nacho cheese was unbelievable, so were the refried beans, and 'beef'. The nacho cheese would be great in a big bowl just so I could dip tortilla chips into it (or my face). (recommend the burrito highly)

The Store
They have an amazing range, and variety of vegan goods to buy, there was stuff I hadn't been able to find anywhere that they have, such as V-Pud, Violife Meat Slices, Wheat Gluten, + more (they even have homemade ice cream. They have a cool range of tote bags, stickers, t-shirts, pins etc to buy. Overall it is a great place, really hope they open a VX in Worcester soon.

Pros: Fully Vegan!, Delicious, Dog Friendly, Awesome Vegan Goods

Cons: No Worcester Location, Strong Fry Oil Smell on Clothes after we left, Slow Service

All the YES!

Wow, this place is simply the best if it’s filthy junk food you’re after! ❤️ The burgers are just ace and my friends assure me that the kebabs, hotdogs and mac n cheese are tops too. The desserts will blow your socks off! Everything from chunky slices of delicious cake to incredible looking shakes. The other big bonus is that you can fill your shopping basket as well as your stomach here. The shelves are rammed with all your vegan favourites! Vegenaise, Mozzarisella, Tofu, Quorn vegan ham, vegan chorizo, sweets galore. Just about everything you could ever want! You can’t set foot in Bristol without visiting and still keep your vegan credentials intact.

Pros: Best vegan junk food, Incredible vegan shop, Relaxed

I must of caught them on a bad day!

Just to state that I'm always very fair when reviewing cafes/restaurants. I've been vegan for best part of a yr now, I was passing through Bristol and was excited to try Vx as there is a lack of any vegan places where I live. To start with the positives: the staff are friendly, the place is nice/clean. They stock a couple of refrigerators of goods that you cannot get elsewhere. The milkshake was great. Unfortunately, I had the Vx burger and it was floppy and undercooked. If you're going to cook a burger then you'd expect it to have a bit of texture and flavour from being grilled or griddled, and this was soft and tasteless. My partner had the quesadilla and he said it was fine. We bought an ice cream sandwich to take away and it tasted a little bit stale. I really hate to give them negatives, like I say, I think caught them on a quiet afternoon. I would say if you're going to advertise yourself as providing Vegan junk food, try and get it right. Will revisit if passing but not sure I would go out of my way as I have today. If so I will update this next time...

Pros: It's a full Vegan cafe! Well done to them., They're friendly and have good product knowledge., Excellent range of vegan foods for sale.

Cons: You cannot get a full meal, no sides, no fries., Ask for your burger to be well done!

I love this place

This is the ultimate vegan place to eat in Bristol to be honest, I mean it is junk food so don’t expect a well presented plate of greens but the food they do is lovely, thino McDonald’s minus the pain, suffer and health issues 😂 It also has a little vegan store inside which is handy if you’re out of cheese at home!

Pros: All vegan, Naughty goodness, Best doughnuts ever

Good shop for picking up vegan bits and pieces

I find the junk food a bit bland and not too interesting. The cakes are seriously good though so worth it for that - especially the cheesecakes! The shop is also good for picking up bits n pieces e.g cheeses, sriram based meats etc

a bit meh

I was really excited to come here, and it does say vegan junk food so i should have probably known what to expect, but the savoury food was very americanised and therefore not quite to my taste, i ordered a quesadilla and added guacamole, when i came it was more like a sloppy wrap. it wasn’t flat and crispy, it was sloppy, oily and squidgy - and the guacamole has been added inside rather than to the side? it was very messy and hard to eat. no distinct mexican flavours, just goo really. my husband ordered the standard burger (i forgot the name) and he didn’t have much to say about it but he said it was nice. i did order a cookie sandwich which was YUMMY (but of the vegan cookie sandwiches [that seem to be trending] i’ve had it sits towards the end) my husband had a chocolate eclair but again said was ok, but the ‘pastry’ part felt like it was just bread? overall the food didn’t make me want to eat there again but they do have wonderful staff, welcome dogs, and a wide variety of stock you can buy in store to take home. i’d day it was fairly busy inside but not so much that we couldn’t find a seat.

Pros: variety of options, super junky if you’re into that, lovely staff

Cons: super junky if you’re not into that, food felt a little meh, fairly busy and crowded
