NOT overhyped

The line is really long, but their vegan doughnuts are the best I have ever had (I think including non-vegan doughnuts, but I have not had a non vegan doughnut in a long time). We tried the vegan raised glaze, vegan chocolate ring, and vegan maple bar. They were so light and fluffy that I would have questioned their veganness had I not seen the cashier click the vegan button.

Pros: Amazing taste and texture, Good vegan options, Not too expensive

Cons: Really long line

Best place when you’re drunk

Loved loading up on their classic donuts after drinking all night. I especially love the maple bar, lemon filled, and custard filled donuts. I still can’t believe they’re vegan!

The BEST donuts

Absolutely loved the donuts! Had a little wait in the cue to get in, but nothing major. The local area appears to be fairly popular with the homeless, but I never felt “unsafe” or harassed, there is also a security guard on the door which I’m sure helps. Either way I wouldn’t give them any less than four stars - especially for something completely out of their control

Pros: Fantastic donuts, Friendly staff, Decent prices

Cons: Not a great area , Short wait to get in

Good vegan donut selection👍

Waited an hour in line being screamed at my homeless telling me how pathetic I was for waiting in line for a donut but it was worth it.

I was surprised to see how many vegan donuts they had! Went ahead and got the vegan dozen and the donuts were so big they were well worth the price.

Also literally cannot tell they are vegan. Tastes exactly like a non vegan donut. they are super tasty. 100% agree with other reviewers. I've struggled to find non-cake vegan donuts. So I was happy these just tasted like a classic donut!

Not the best donuts I've had but they are still pretty damn good.

Overhyped

Tourist spot and some locals do eat here as well, but they are most famous for their concept. They get major points for creativity, but the donuts are just okay in my opinion.

Must-try donuts

The reviews don’t lie, these donuts were amazing. While there were a lot more non-vegan options, there was still a full tray to choose from. The Portland cream was incredible and the voodoo doll was really well done. I was kind of worried that the donuts would be over-stuffed as I read online, but they were not at all. Also the donuts didn’t immediately go stale and hard, so we were able to enjoy them later in the day as well (after buying too many lol)

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Delicious

10 vegan options

And THIS is why I love Portland. Very vegan friendly. The donuts are incredible. Loved the maple cream and the voodoo with it’s jelly filling.

Non cake vegan donuts

Ok, definite a bit overhyped as a tourist destination (do people from PDX actually go here?). However, I, as a tourist, always stop here when I am in town because where else can you get such unique vegan donut options? Portland creme, dirt, voodoo doll, etc.
Definitely worth it for non-standard cake donuts!

Excellent doughnuts!

The doughnuts and apple fritters here are definitely worth a special trip! Every time a friend or family member goes to Portland, I ask them to bring me back a grape ape. The lines are long, but everything is well worth the wait.

Pros: Excellent not-cake doughnuts

Cons: Long lines

So good!!

Voodoo Doughnut is the only place where I've had a vegan donut that wasn't a cake donut. We tried the glazed one and the "dirt" one (covered with Oreo cookies), and they were both amazing. I hope to go back soon!

Pros: Delicious donuts, Very creative

Cons: Pretty long line

Donut Haven

The coolest donut place. Loved my apple fritter. They have all the typical donuts. And many fancy fancy specialty donuts.

Pros: Pricing is pretty standard

Long lineups, worth a try

Expect to see a lineup if you're going to Voodoo. I went early in the morning and there was 1 person ahead, but anytime I've walked by during the day or in the evening it's been busy. Probably not the best donuts I've tried but they have vegan options and it's a fun place to check out if you have the time to wait.

Pros: Vegan options, Good prices

This place was fun and yummy! Overall, good experience.

Note that there is always a line here that is quite long. Expect to wait about 15-30 minutes on a good day. The donuts are massive and very yummy!

Awesome vibe

I loved the decor and the whole general vibe of the place. The bottom row was all vegan. I got the Voodoo doll & another one with peanut butter & Oreos. Both were delicious, the doughnuts were super soft which I loved.

Had better

I mean, they were OK, but nothing special, no where nearas good as we expected given they hype and the queues. Great that they have vegan options, but have had better vegan donuts in the states. Disappointing.

great amount of vegan choices!

Over a few days I tried the "dirt" flavor (white icing with chocolate cookies on top), maple cake doughnut, and maple cream. I only didn't like the cream in the maple cream (but I didn't like cream doughnuts in general before I quit eating dairy/eggs anyway). The other two were terrific.

I also like how they have all the vegan items on one tray, which makes ordering easy. It needs to be because the staff is rude (I guess that's their thing) and will yell at you if you take time to look at the case. They also yell at you when it's your turn to order. The line did move super quickly though....

They use shared frying oil with the non-vegan items.

Pros: huge amount of choices, tastes great

Cons: staff yells so not for the faint of heart
