Nice food, service not so good - Edit
I went there with two other friends and had called in advance for making a reservation. When we arrived there, they didn't know about a reservation. As the restaurant was very full, we only got a table in gangway (shared with another group of people, of course). The food then was very nice, but my friends' eggplant was cold, though.

Lovely place with nice food - Edit
Nice modern place, very busy at saturday night, but still got a table quick. Drinks were lovely, the crepes had a bit too much sauce.

No recommendation for cake / coffee - Edit
I shared three pieces of cake with my friends. Despite they looked very nice, they all tasted rather mediocre and quite similar because only the top layer of cream was different. Furthermore they tasted dry and old. The coffee and hot chocolate was o.k. The waitress was friendly enough, but lacked some flexibility: we ordered sth, but changed our minds quickly. Although nothing was served yet, she refused to change the order as it was already logged into the system. Maybe I would give the buffet a try, but not go there for coffee / cake again.

Nice - Edit
Was quite nice. The portions weren't that big and the antipasti platter was a bit a mishmash of food on a plate. We ordered the Asian one but were wondering what was Asian about it. However the taste was good!

My favorite vegan restaurant in Bremen - Edit
Small and homely restaurant with great vegan food! My favorite is the Asia Crepe. You can also get a box with different starters to take away.

Amazing food - Edit
A friend and I stopped in one night because it was right around the corner from our hostel, and we enjoyed it so much we ended up eating dinner there every evening we were in Bremen! The have a huge selection of salads, soups, pastas, curries, and desserts. Prices are reasonable and staff are friendly, though there aren’t any English menus so if you don’t speak German you’ll have to guess or ask!

IN LOVE - Edit
I had the best experience at Vengo. Not only is the food absolutely delicious, but it’s a perfect atmosphere to relax. It’s fun to go by yourself and meet new people at the open tables. The prices are also very reasonable for what you get (heaping plates of food)!

Delicious veggie food - Edit
The food was creative and absolutely tasty. They offer a large variety of vegetarian and vegan stuff, everything sounded and looked awesome, so it was hard to pick. We had some antipasti, noodles and homemade juice, so delicious. Unfortunately, we had to wait very long for ordering and food (much longer than the other people in the restaurant it seemed), thus -1 star. Anyway, would go there again

Nice location, food is okay - Edit
Ive been to Vengo more than once, but in the end most often I was not satisfied. The portions are small and the food tastes okay, but not as good as it looks (it does look awesome, thats 4-5 stars). Also the location is really nice, its an eye catcher.

Recommended Place to eat in Bremen - Edit
Vengo is probably the restaurant I visit most often. They have a small but delicious menu. I recommend ordering a antipasti plate as starter. The variety of antipasti offered is extraordinary. Since they renovated the interior the stays are even more enjoyable. Personally, I'm a bit sad the burger was taken away from the menu but that's only a minor flaw.

great "real" food - Edit
I find it difficult to find vegan restaurants that serve something else than fast food. Therefore, it is really nice that Vengo does not have the usual burgers, pizza and fries atmosphere, but actually really nice dishes in a lovely atmosphere. The menu is relatively short but the food is fresh and something you do not get everywhere in a mix of different culinary influences.

great vegan food - Edit
This place is one of my favourites to eat at after a day in the city. So far I've had several different plates of antipasti (quite oily but delicious), curries, drinks, vegan chocolate pudding and cake (a little too sweet for my taste but I'm not a fan of sugar). Everything has been absolutely delicious so far, the prices are moderate and the staff is quite young and nice. They recently reconstructed the place, so there are a lot more seats and the entire room is much larger and brighter. Definitely stop by if you are in Bremen!

Pros: netter Service, leckeres Essen
Cons: kleine Portionen, wenig glutenfreies

best vegan/plantbased food in bremen! - Edit
whatever your taste is - i am sure that vengo will offer you something you love. they have the BEST vegan sweet treats in town, may it be cake or dessert variations - they won´t dissapoint you.
Read morethe menu switches bi-weekly and everything in this place is vegan/plantbased (except the parmesan cheese on the table, which is of course optional or the regular cow milk you can have with your coffee - but the "normal" milk in this place is soymilk of course! :)
anyways, the antipasti is awesome and you can create your own plate, it could become a small version or a big one. or a very big one, when you visit this place as a group. the menu always offers two soups, one curry, one "other" dish and a pasta option.
i recommend this place to every bremen-visitor or everyone living in bremen. the restaurant is just great and i visit it regularly - and never saw or heard of a disappointed face!
Pros: the choice of food is big, it tastes awesome, the stuff is always friendly

Sweet Vegan Cafe...with many options - Edit
Featuring a salad bar with maybe over 20 options i.e. chickpea salad with cucumbers and red onions, carrot strips with dillweed, button mushrooms in a cold curry sauce, couscous with turmeric, pasta salads, etc. among many. You can get a plate piled high with 4-5 or even 8-10 items from the salad bar, from what I observed. The hot menu featured two soups and three main dishes. For dessert there were maybe 5 different options from a chocolate vegan cheesecake to cakepops and more. I really enjoyed the venue, though I did find the asian vegetables and rice to be far too salty for my taste and the chocolate cheesecake to be lacking in flavor. Other than that, everything was very good.

Great lunch place - Edit
We went to Vengo for a late lunch on a Saturday. The place offers two soups of the day, a huge salad and antipasti bar and several main dishes to choose from. We first shared a large antipasti plate with different versions of hummus which was very tasty. I had a pumpkin curry that was excellent. My friends ordered one of the soups, a tomoato soup which had a nice spicy twist other than any tomato soup I have tasted before. I can really recommend this place for a light lunch. The atmosphere was cosy and relaxed.

Our Favourite in Bremen - Edit
Visited on 28/06/14. We went to Vengo for our evening meal on a Saturday. We were met by a very friendly waiter who had very good English and an excellent sense of humour. I had potato and broccoli casserole with a cream sauce and salad, it was really tasty. My girlfriend had spaghetti bolognese and loved it - she's Italian so a good judge of Italian inspired foods. She said it was quite unlike any spaghetti bolognese she'd had before with an interesting spice mix that really worked. There was a huge salad bar behind the counter but we wouldn't have been able to fit any in. They had a large range of drinks, my girlfriend had a fritz lemonade, I had a beer. I had a coffee afterwards which, as a earlier reviewer has mentioned, was fantastic. The restaurant was open later than advertised on Happy Cow, we left at 21:35 and some other folk had just arrived and ordered. I fully recommend Vengo, top top quality!

Vegan sour creme! - Edit
The menu looked a little bit boring to us although almost everything is vegan. We were very suprised we could order a baked potato with sour creme. It was really great to eat such a creme as a vegan. The cake was a little bit dry, not bad but not very good either.
