We have dined here twice in the past 10 months, and both occasions were excellent. The most recent time was 2 weeks ago and we shared the vegan platter. The food is varied in type, but universally tasty and generous in portion size. The atmosphere is inviting and the staff on both occasions were friendly and helpful with ingredient enquiries.Vegilicious is also great value for money, only $200 for 4 with 3 courses, wine and coffee on our last visit. This now overtakes The Beet in Byron as our favourite Australian restaurant.

Delicious wholesome food - Edit
A great, cosy and inviting vegan restaurant in St Kilda. The menu is great and there is the option to get a platter or banquet with 2 people. The desserts are delicious. Reasonably priced. If you're around St Kilda it's worth the visit for lunch or dinner.

Day after wedding catering - Edit
We had a brunch for our family the day after our wedding. We wanting it to be great vegan food that filled their souls. Bingo. No one realises it was vegan and when we announced what they were, they asked, “and it’s vegan, right?” It’s usually us asking that. LOL. Love it.

Vegilicious is extremely delicious!
Read moreI'm extremly surprise, the venue at first impression look dark and not welcoming. My impression was wrong! ;-)
I'm glad my partner invite me to try them.
The food is good. Not too rich. I can almost saying is the perfect plant base breakfast food. Well balance in fat and sugar. Portion are generous size! I will definetly go back to try some more of their creation.

Much better now it’s all vegan - Edit
First time we’d been here since the restaurant became 100 percent vegan. When I first came here three and a half years ago, most dishes needed to modified on request. We ordered the creamy mushroom pasta (which I remember once had no vegan option) and the scrambled tofu roti wrap with mushroom and tomato ($18 each). Both were nice and in a suitable portion for the price. My berry smoothie had some sort of floral flavour in it, which did not not really appeal to me and my companion said made it taste like soap. I like the warm, dark atmosphere of back of the cafe, which is a surprisingly decent size, although the front is unevenly heated with cold and hot spots. Now another decent vegan option in the St Kilda area.

Cons: Floral taste of smoothie unappealing

Potential... once upon a time - Edit
Vegilicious has always appeared to be a cut above the rest, but rarely actually lives up to that promise. The menu never changes (even now that they are vegan, they are still using the old vegetarian menu in the restaurant o.O )
Read moreA good location that has been well designed (as long as you do not sit in the front corner where the rain comes in) that could be put to better use by people who know how to make food, provide service and can be bothered getting off of their arses to update a menu.
Glad that they are now vegan, wish that had happened prior to them feeding me dairy even though I requested vegan and confirmed vegan when ordering.

unique and delicious - Edit
the place is totally vegan even though the menu doesn't look like it.. really should update their menu but it doesn't matter because the food is great! i loved the variety of food and how they loaded up the plates with yummy interesting salads and other bits. i had rainbow gnocchi which was on the specials board and 10/10 delicious. so good. also had vegetable skewers and aranchini balls for starters which were also fantastic! no complaints. had donuts + ice cream for dessert also off the specials board and i was very happy and full.

Not going back. - Edit
I've been here twice. The first time food took about an hour and they gave me vegetarian instead of vegan. They were really good about it so I ended up going back after hearing they had gone all vegan. Food still took about an hour and there was the largest earwig I've ever seen in it.

Vegetarian menu but vegan food - Edit
Unlike other recent reviews, I ate here for the first time recently and was very impressed (although a bit confused re. why they hadn't updated website and menu to show that it is now vegan).

Time for a revamp - Edit
It has been quite some time between visits. The restaurant is now all vegan and seems to be doing very well a few months into their transition. Surprisingly, they are still handing out their old vegetarian menu and awkwardly explaining that it's all vegan. The current menu has been in place for a few years now, is a bit tired and could really do with a refresh.
Read moreWould love to see Vegilicious tweak their current menu and perhaps make some fresh additions. It's so close to being really good but somehow is still missing the mark a little.

Edit: now fully vegan so bumped from 4 stars to 5 :)
Read moreAlways had great experiences. The vegan platter is outstanding and the best value for money outside of the city. The staff can sometimes be a bit slow, yes, but they're so lovely and I do believe they are trying their best. The food has always been top-notch and the decor and ambience is awesome. The menu covers a range of dishes and they offer takeaway containers for 50c to pack yourself, or bring your own!
Pros: All vegan! great prices and awesome decor
Cons: nothing
