Actually has vegetables - Edit
I feel like a lot of the vegan food in Chicago is fake meat stuff, and I wanted something that actually resembled a plant. I was not disappointed! Nearly the entire menu is vegan, a few options contain egg or milk but those are clearly labelled.

Great All-Veg Option in Chinatown - Edit
Perfect place to stop while exploring Chinatown, convenient location and nice interior (very nice bathrooms lol). Large all-vegetarian menu with many vegan options. I ordered the Orange Tofu and my two non-veg friends ordered the Kung Pao Tofu.

Salt overload - Edit
Based on the reviews, I was expecting everything to be really amazing. Almost every dish we ordered was way too salty. The server came by and asked how was everything, we told her, but nothing resolved. I really wanted to take my leftovers, that is why I ordered 6 dishes split between 2. Maybe it was an off day but will try this place another time and to ease up on the salt.

Cons: Too salty, Management did not resolve complaint

Brilliant little place - Edit
Great veggie / vegan little place, around 20 mins walk from the McCormick convention centre. Really enjoyed my Mongolian Soy Beef with rice. Portions are really good size. Everyone around the table enjoyed the food - I was the only vegan. Goes to show - great food. Not a bad price either. Nice interior.

I found vegan treasure in Chinatown - Edit
As a treat to my friend from Taiwan, we went to Veggie House, new since September 2020. Even though all the items are vegetarian, most are vegan. My friend and I split the Veggie House dumplings and the Mapo Tofu, which were new for me. I ordered the Korean noodles, which I couldn't finish because I was so full. We each took home doggie boxes. (Yes, we became four-legged.:) This makes #8 of the vegan restaurants on Chicago's south and southwest sides.:) I plan to try the spring roll with glass noodles, the sesame rice ball and a lion's mane mushroom dish in future visits.

Yummy vegan Asian - Edit
It was yummy, sometimes a little sweet for my tastes but had good things on offer, WE ordered vegetable spring rolls, spicy dumplings, deep fried wantons, Thai crispy tofu, Hot and sour Soup, Mongolian Soy Beef, Kung Pao Chicken and Bochoy. The most disappointing dish was the spring rolls, for a Chinese/Asian place they could do this better.
Read moreI was not keen on the Thai crispy tofu but I didn't pick it as I normally don't like such dishes anyway.
The spicy dumplings, deep fried wantons and Hot and sour dishes were good.
I felt Mongolian Soy Beef could of have been better but was decent.
Highlights were the Bochoy which was very juicy and the Kung Pao Chicken.
Pros: Good mock meats asian style
Cons: spring rolls, a little sweet

Wonderful food and staff! - Edit
I come here at least once a week, it’s amazing and the food is awesome! I love the mongolian beef, spicy dumplings, fried rice, and so much more! I have taken many people here who eat meat and have yet to hear one complaint! I’m so grateful for this opening, it’s so close to me and convenient. I order delivery sometimes twice a week sometimes and almost have gotten through the entire menu!

Wow! - Edit
I'm so glad we tried this place. My partner and I got the Ma Po Tofu (with extra veggies), the Three Cup Lion's Mane Mushroom, and Tempura Veggies appetizer. The food was truly delicious and the portion sizes were plenty generous – what I would hope for in a Chinese takeaway meal (There was enough for two people to have dinner and leftovers for another meal). The menu is all-vegetarian and items that contain dairy and egg are very clearly labeled, so we felt confident ordering. Our order came with a large container of white rice and we ordered an extra small container of brown rice.
Read moreI'm personally not very big into fake meat, so I really liked that there was a whole section of the menu dedicated to mushroom-centric dishes. I've never tried Lion's Mane mushroom before, but this dish was definitely my favourite; it had a very satisfying texture and flavour that was hearty and distinct from others I've tried before – I would definitely recommend this and can't wait to try the other mushroom dishes next time.
Pros: lots of vegan options and variety, menu clearly labeled, great food
Cons: none

Amazing Food & Experience - Edit
We ate the dumplings, fried sweet and sour dough, turmeric oyster mushrooms, and chicken noodle soup. Needless to say it was all incredible. The staff was so kind as well and even brought us out free desert. If you’re in Chicago and/or around Chinatown I 10/10 recommend Veggie house. The presentation of the food is so beautiful as well!

Loved It - Edit
My boyfriend and I were walking around Chinatown and happen to walk by this place. I noticed in this area on Happy Cow there’s no marked restaurants so I put this one on the map. It’s so good! The juices were really fresh, and all the food was delicious. My favorites were the turmeric oyster mushrooms and the vegetable dumplings. When i’m back in Chicago I definitely plan on coming back.
