Tasty food, efficient service. - Edit
Note that Apple Maps will direct you to the back side of the restaurant. When we arrived we were confused and thought the restaurant was closed. You just need to go around to the other side of the building.

Best place I've been to - Edit
I loved the Kung Pao Plant Based Chicken!!! It was really tasty and the texture and taste of the "chicken" was one of the best I've tried. I will definitely visit again when I return to Chinatown! I also ordered the Mapo Tofu; it was good as well, but not very spicy.

Everything we ordered was delicious! (Mapo tofu could improve though, it didn't taste like mapo tofu haha), very nice portions and informal-comfortable ambience.

The Kung Pao Tofu is ✨️incredible✨️, the mixed veggies and string beans are filling and tasty, and in addition to those, nearly everything else on the menu is craveable. You've gotta try it!!

Veggie Food in Chinatown! - Edit
Since going vegan, I really haven't had any Chinese food, so I was very pleased to find a dedicated vegetarian restaurant in Chinatown! The place is small, clean, and bright. They don't bring out hot tea (green tea, in this case) automatically, you do need to order it. I ordered the wonton soup, Mongolian Soy Beef, and Singapore Noodles (with BBQ "pork" and veggie "shrimp"). Everything was very tasty! The menu does, helpfully, tell you what items contain egg or dairy. I will definitely come back!

OMG! I have missed good take out since going vegan, and this place blew my mind! They had all the classic Chinese rake out dishes. Everything I got tasted exactly like what I remember prior to being vegan. I got sweet and sour chicken, vegan salt & pepper shrimp, wonton soup, and bean paste dessert rice balls. Everything was heavenly and wish I had stuff like this where I lived. I will definitely be back when I'm in the Chicago area again! Heck, I'd travel just for this food! I love that it's located in Chinatown too, which is a very cool area! The menu labeled what wasn't vegan/had egg & dairy.

My New Favorite Vegan Chinese Restaurant! - Edit
Out of 5 vegan-friendly dining spots, Veggie House was the vegan dining highlight of our trip! The vegan shrimp alone would have made our trip to Chicago worth it and I also loved the wonton soup, mushroom "chicken" sweet and sour dish, and the sesame rice dessert ball topped everything off. If you're looking for an authentic full-menu Chinese restaurant as a vegan or vegetarian, then this is the place to try. #Veganuary

Wonderful Vegan Chinese Spot - Edit
It is so wonderful to see another vegan friendly Chinese spot in the city.
Read moreTheir menu is a mix of vegetarian/vegan dishes that are served family style. Aside from the obvious culprits like dairy and eggs, you should be able to get a mix of vegan dishes if that is your desire. We checked with our server just to make sure.
We ordered a few dishes including their Spicy Dumplings, House Fried Rice, Kung Pao Tofu, and Mushroom Medley. Everything was super flavorful and not too salty, and came in massive portion sizes. My favorite dish was definitely the tofu but I love any dish that uses this amazing soy product.
I saw that they had sushi in the photos but we didn't see anything like that on the menu. They must have taken it off but if it ever returns, you bet I'll try to come back to try it once more.
Service was super attentive and we were taken care of very well. It also never got crowded even on a Sunday afternoon, which I attribute to folx not realizing how amazing and delicious going plant-based could be!
Pros: Excellent portion sizes for family style

We really enjoyed our meal at Veggie House! Food is labeled if contains eggs or dairy, so it's easy to tell what is vegan on the menu. Everything was delicious. I LOVED the tempura! I would definitely order that again next time. Can't wait to try more of their menu!

Yummy Food! - Edit
I've lived in Chicago very long time and I am embarrassed that this was my first time to Chinatown. What A cool neighborhood. This restaurant was out of this world. There's so many options and the food was delicious. I'm pretty sure that they are completely vegan, I don't remember seeing any vegetarian items on the menu.
Pros: Delicious food, Great service

When I come I love getting their orange tofu, vegetable tempura! I tried their veggie house dumplings, they were okay, I was hoping for something with more flavor. The sauce complimented it well though. Will definitely come back to try more things!

Tons of great options with vegan vs vegetarian (and gf) clearly marked. BYOB so bring a cooler! We had a few sushi rolls that were the monthly specials, Mongolian “Beef”, “Beef” Fried Rice, and a noodle dish. Everything was fantastic but the Mongolian Beef was the real stand out. Look forward to coming back and trying more dishes!

Excellent vegan oasis in challenging area of Chicago - Edit
While there are some excellent vegan restaurants in Chicago, not many exist in the Chinatown neighborhood. This place, while not fully vegan, comes close, and everything we have had here is absolutely excellent. Dumplings, fried rice, all the tofu… The Kung Pao was especially fantastic. You can’t go wrong!
