Simple tasty chinese food!

Not entirely vegan (allows adding egg to some dishes). Dishes felt cheap but were very tasty! Menu has about 55 vegan dishes to choose from, and they even have shrimp! We were very happy with the food, just know in advance not to expect high quality food.
Menu was in Spanish and English, but waitress did not speak English.
Overall recommended

Pros: Cheap, tasty

Cons: No English speaking staff

Does the trick

I came quite late, after having already had dinner somewhere else. I just wanted to try yet another veggie restaurant while still in Barcelona, and their generous opening hours made this possible. The menu is very extensive, so I had difficulties making up my mind. In the end I went for a tofu hotpot, that looked spectacular when served! In terms of flavours though, it wasn't really anything out of the ordinary, but what it lacked in spices was compensated by a large portion. On top of that, the friendly staff offered a calender for 2019, free of charge!

Buena comida, vegano o adaptable. Falta que tengan salsas de soja sin gluten. Y algun postre más sin gluten

Pros: Calidad, Precio, Trato del personal

In love

Restaurante vegetariano con opciones veganas. Los platos no veganos son adaptables y vienen muy bien señalizados en la carta. La atención del personal es muy agradable, te enamoran. Calidad y precio genial, raciones adecuadas. Recomendadísimo.

Pros: Muchísimas opciones veganas, buen precio

A-Okay

Good prices for such a central location. Typical friendly and very accommodating Chinese service. They made me a Ma Po Tofu even though it wasn't on the menu. Good quality ingredients although not too much flavour - very mild, probably because they are mainly catering to European palates and don't want to put anyone off with bold Chinese flavours. Nice size portions and plenty of rice. Large menu and very friendly staff.

Awesome!

Great chinese food! I got rice noodles, vegan "squid" and spring rolls. The flavors were pretty good and better than what I can get where i live. The service was with a smile and I had a nice time chatting with them in chinese. Food came out fast. It's not a fancy restaurant but it's not a takeout place either. They have a good amount of tables.

Pros: Excellent food, Good portions, Friendly

It's ok

The atmosphere is not that great. We had Tofu as a starter which was very nice and I had noodles at the main course. It wasn't incredible, but ok. I would recommend it for a quick stop, but not for a full dinner experience.

Chinese veg food

Starters were particularly good at Vegesana - we had the veg tempura and tofu skewers. The tempura is enormous, definitely better for sharing!
Main course options included seitan and mock meat/fish dishes as well as tofu and veg, noodles. Generous, filling portions.
Vegan options clearly marked.
Friendly staff, though not a lot of English spoken there's a lot of goodwill.

Cons: Not all vegan

okay

We went there because of the 4 stars but regret it. The atmosphere is very basic (they don't even play music), nobody else was in there and the food doesn't taste that good. The dumplings were good though (and homemade!).

Pros: Lots of vegan options and fake meat

Cons: atmosphere, taste

bien

Pros: me encanta gambas veganas

Cons: comida de microondas

Asian style fastfood, at a price

Nice food (no culinairy extravaganza nor refined, but good!), great variety on the menu. Lost of faux meats.
Large portions.
Atmosphere not so cosy. Everything was very ‘rushed’ (eg main dishes already came with appetizers on table).
Not so relaxed.

At about 15 euros for a main dish (main dish + noodles or fried rice) this seemed reasonably priced for prices we are commonly used to (in Belgium).
But as we later discovered, dining out in Barcelona is mostly a bit cheaper, so this was actually on the more expensive side.
Especially since it was more of a ‘fastfood’ experience.

Pros: lots of choice, mainly vegan, frienly, although little English spoken

Cons: atmosphere, very rushed, fastfood experience (literally), a bit more pricy than other options in Bcn

Great Vegan Noodles!

The service here was really great. I ordered take away in the storefront and they brought me potato pinwheel crisps while I waited.

The portion of food was good for the price. This meal was the first asian noodle meal I’ve had on my Euro trip satisfied me fully (so far).

I would definitely recommend Vegesana to anyone looking for some veggie Chinese food.

Pros: Variety of Vegan Options, Friendly Service, Quick & Simple Dinner Option

Some good dishes, overall low-quality

Finding a Chinese restaurant that makes Chinese food in their ancient and revered culinary tradition is rare, so far I have only seen one and this is not it. The food is mass-produced low-effort fast food that bears little resemblance to genuine Chinese cuisine.

That being said, some of the Chinese fast foods can be pleasant now and then, e.g. deep fried crispy tofu balls, crispy eggplant and curry dishes. The abovementioned are nice, but you can still not escape the feeling of yet-another-variation-on-a-cheap-theme, something most acutely felt in the unpleasant smell from the boiled rice.

If you're looking for fast food, then this is a fairly good place - if you eat in. The portion sizes of takeaways are about half (but at no discount). The prices are unreasonably high for the low level of quality (e.g. 6€ for fried rice that barely contains anything).

Pros: As far as Chinese fast food goes, it can be good, Vegan versions of popular Chinese fast foods, Fairly central location

Cons: Low quality, Unreasonably high prices, Low quality ingredients

One of my favourite places.

I could eat here everyday, price is really good and food aswell.
Staff attitude is always welcoming.
Most of dishes can be turned vegan and I love their seitan.

very basic asian cuisine.

I wasn’t really impressed by the food here. Nothin too special or interesting about the food. Simple home made Chinese food. Could find more interesting food than this.

Pros: cheap menu., lots of choices, all vegetarian

Cons: not that great tasting food, nothing inventive or impressive

Simple vegetarian Chinese food

Vegesana isn't much different from any other average Asian restaurant, except they are fully vegetarian offering a notable range of vegan dishes.
I was there twice not so long ago, those were mostly satisfying visits. Service is good, English is understood. Food is fine, but there is not that much variety on the menu - many different dishes that are in many cases very similar to each other.
I really liked their "sopa de tres setas". The two mains I tried were mediocre, though. Especially one seitan dish that was just bland with a hint of soap(!).
Pricewise it was OK. Wi-Fi was good.
Since it is a family-run restaurant you'll see children or infants playing or sitting around at the desk area (this may take some getting used to).
Lack of vegan desserts.

Chinese faux meats

A Chinese venue that serves a plenty of faux meats. The menu is wide and mostly vegan with some vegetarian options that can made be vegan. I tried also some stuff that never seen in other Chinese places, such as water chestnut cake. The food is tasty (I liked especially tofu with nori and water chestnut cake). The staff is very nice and attentive.
