Vege Joy is a hidden gem very close to the centre of Varna.

Lots of menu options, a nice clean modern space, also an impressive beer selection.
Read morePrices a bit higher compared to local average, but food is very good. (If they ask you how spicy you want your Indian food on a scale of 1-10, 6 was quite spicy!).
The only thing I wasn't crazy about was the fattoush salad with hummus, it was just kind of average, and the pita bread pieces should have been toasted or fried for the fattoush.
Some of the dishes may be a little bit on the minimal side, so if you're very hungry may need to order more.
Note that the kitchen closing times might be a bit arbitrary depending on the day, so better to check first if you're thinking of going there late.

Cosy place, almost all pizzas can be ordered with vegan cheese. Reasonable prices. Small burgers - but OK.😉Even my non-vegan friends were pleased.😄

Great variety. Actually a bit too much. Both Indian food, Chinese food, pizza, pasta, burger and other stuff in between.
Are they really good at what they are doing?
I was very hungry when I came to the restaurant. I leave the restaurant hungry.
If you are used - like me - not to eat in a 5 Star restaurant, then it's too little portions. You won't get full.
If you enjoy delicious food served in a minimalistic way, it's great!

They have an extensive menu and I think they got so many dishes right from pasta, to Indian, to burgers. I also loved the setting and the service. The only thing though is that the burgers should be bigger, to be more filling.

We ordered a burger and the american pizza with fries on it. It was quite delicious both, but unfortunately I had to wait for the pizza. So when my friend finished his Burger, the pizza still wasnt here. However the staff is friendly and kind.

They have a huge vegan menu and even have vegan cheeses and yogurt. Our waitress was also very nice but the wait to get our two pizzas was a bit over 45 minutes, even though there was only one other group of customers in the restaurant.

So far our experience of Bulgarian food at other places, is that the portion sizes are huge. Unfortunately not here. I had the menu of the day which was reasonably priced at 7.50 lev for a soup and a main. However both dishes were not very filling and also came out cold.
Read moreMy boyfriend had a pizza (11 lev) which was better, although if anything it was TOO much cheese. The base wasn’t thick enough for the toppings - the melted cheese and sauce just slid off in a goopy mess.
The staff were really nice but the food was disappointing.

I ate here last night but although the food was healthy and we'll presented, I left feeling very hungry. There were around 4 small squares of tofu in my meal to give you an idea.

Read moreI went here to have lunch, and everything was ridiculously expensive. The salads(only 250-300gram portions) were 10 leva each, the main meals were 10-15 leva each, and they had some small sandwiches for 3-5 leva.
They don't even have meat alternatives. Its all vegetables and rice (except for the dairy products and vegan cheese). Maybe if they actually offered seitain, or soy things, just something that isn't whole-foods, maybe it might be worth paying for it. But I'm not going to pay so much money for essentially rice, or vegetables, or beans. It's ridiculous.
I'm sorry but that's not how veganism is going to suceed in Bulgaria. Noone will want to eat there if they will pay so much money to leave the restaurant hungry.
I went a few times, trying a salad, trying a sandwich, a curry dish, but every time I felt so hungry, and I had paid more than 15 leva every time.

The place is really in a good location of the center but kind of hidden in a little street so you must know where to find it. The service was super. The food was really good and also very cheap. We had a lovely meal. Also the coffee was very good. I would totally reccommend it for both vegetarian and vegan people. Lovely place.
