Build-your-own noodle meal with emphasis on fresh vegetables. Choose your ingredients (vegetables, tofu, faux meat, noodles), then the staff cooks it into a one-pot soup wonder in just minutes. Or have your order served dry. Style is a blend of East meets West, with modern design concept striping the space down to the bare essentials and a long wooden communal table in the center of the dining area. One of several cafes in Taipei, this is its flagship branch, est. 2012. Open Mon-Sun 12:00pm-2:00pm, 5:00pm-8:30pm.

oh so good!!! - Edit
I loved my food at vege creek! I seriously loved everything about it - the little restaurant with only this one table in the middle that brought people together, the choice of different food (and that you ACTUALLY choose what you'd like), the fresh preperation and finally: EATING. food was absolutely delicious and well seasoned.

Cool concept! - Edit
I love this place! You just grab a basket, choose your veggies, proteins and greens and then pick what type of noodle you'd like and they make you a delicious soup. I love how customisable it is and even on hungry days it usually only comes out around 200TWD (£4) which is super reasonable. The only con is that there's only one small table so it wouldn't be great for a group but I've never had trouble finding a seat and they do takeout.

love Vege Creek - Edit
this might be my favorite restaurant in Taipei. it's make your own bowl of vegan goodness - add the raw ingredients to your basket and they turn it into a fantastic soup. I usually skip the noodles and just pile on the veggies. they do top it with seaweed so if that's not your thing ask them to leave it off.

Cool concept, delicious noodles - Edit
I love the concept at Vege Creek, which is a modern version of the traditional Taiwanese food vendor. No menu - simply select your own vegetables, mushrooms, tofu, noodles & chilli tolerance, and in return you will receive a delicious bowl of noodle soup. The restaurant is small with one communal table and a simple but cool, funky design. I love this place.

Wonderful concept - Edit
This small and beautifully simple restaurant is a gem. One wall is covered with baskets filled with individually wrapped packets of vegetables and tofu, while the other is covered with a rack of single-serving sized containers of fresh greens. You pick out the veggies, protein, and greens that you want, and then choose a token that indicates which type of noodles you would like to accompany them. You then take this to the counter and they cook it for you, after asking how spicy you want it.
Read moreYou can take your food to go (many locals do), or stay and eat at the communal table. There is not a lot of seating, but the atmosphere is great and the people we ate with were very friendly.
I love the concept and definitely plan to return.
Pros: Simple, fresh food, Nice atmosphere, Friendly people
Cons: Closed in the afternoon (2-5), Limited seating

Healthy and Simple - Edit
This place is fun. You take a little tote bag and select the vegetables and proteins you want from bins, along with a token for the type of noodles you would like. Then you bring your selections to the cashier and pay, where they whip your food up into a delicious meal. It feels like visiting the vegetable section of a grocery store but then getting to eat your groceries right away.
Read moreMy food was 170 TWD, which I thought was really reasonable for a big bowl of delicious and fresh food. I had two types of tofu and a selection of vegetables and mushrooms. I was very happy with my meal!

Delectable Food with Elegant Simplicity - Edit
I was recommended this restaurant by a friend as a new(ish) arrival on the Taipei scene, and it didn't disappoint.
Read moreIn some ways Vege Creek employs a simple concept similar to the cook-to-order section of the large, all-you-can-eat restaurants such as Evergreen. Customers choose fresh vegetables, tofu, fake meats etc from racks along the sides of the one-room restaurant, along with a card for the type of noodle, and bring them to the counter to pay. The chef then whips them up in a kitchen not dissimilar to those used by simple food stalls, but with remarkable talent and style. Within minutes, those selected ingredients are transformed into a delectable one-pot wonder, with a broth based on medicinal Chinese herbs.
Everyone eats their dinner at the large, central wooden table. My fairly filling meal (for a hungry vegan waiguoren) cost 205NT - excellent value for a restaurant of this type in this suburb. I'll definitely be back here next time I'm in Taipei.
Tip: the restaurant uses the same MRT Sun Yat Sen Memorial Hall station as the ZhongXiao (Hotpot) Loving Hut, which makes a good dessert stop afterwards if one is so inclined.
Pros: delicious vegan food, fast and simple, very reasonable prices
