Favorite sushi place - Edit
The creativity of ingredients to make their sushi is amazing! I went with a whole group of non-vegans which didn’t believe sushi without fish would be good. This place changed their minds.

Tasty, fast and less waste - Edit
I quickly stopped by to get some sushi rolls to go. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Read moreThe California roll I found very tasty and the texture added an extra touch. The green genovesa was interesting but I wouldn't order it again. The pesto with sushi combo was not my favourite, I would be to exited to try out all the other flavours.
Plus: they were very willing to put the food in my own boxes

The sushi here is so good and original. No more "avocado or cucumber," but really creative vegan options. Service is friendly, and this location is also much cozier than the other one.

10/10 can’t wait to go again! - Edit
Best sushi ever.
Read moreEverytime I attempt to enjoy sushi, I can’t because it smells like fish (cross contamination) but with vegan sushi I felt 100% confident in what I was eating.
The flavours were crazy insane. I loved it all so much.
Slightly pricy - we ordered 16 pieces of sushi & 4 gyozas to share between 2 & it came to €35. We didn’t add drinks to our meal either.
All in all, happy to pay the price for the quality and friendly service.
A must visit as a vegan in Amsterdam!
Pros: Best vegan options out there
Cons: Slightly pricey

The most insane vegan sushi. Best I ever had! - Edit
De sushi was heel erg lekker. De visvervangers zijn van heel hoge kwaliteit. Het was erg duur, maar wel begrijpelijk. Naar mijn mening was het niet gezellig. Witte muren en tl verlichting.

Best vegan sushi I've had so far! - Edit
Went back there cause I liked it so much. Everything had was great, they have vegan salmon and tuna that even though in sashimi is not a killer is really good in the rolls. I absolutely recommend going if you are in town, make a reservation tho to be sure to get a table, they are usually very busy. Rolls are ca. 10-16€, we had 4 for 2 people.

We did lots of research for Amsterdam and we narrowed down our list to four restaurants for lunch and dinner over a few days in the city.
Read moreThis was a stand out lunch on our first full day in the city and we were completely surprised by the taste and quality of this sushi. It beats Barcelona and London hands down with its sushi offering. We went for the California,Shrimp and Mushroom roll and all were delightful. 3 rolls are enough to fill two people up fully.
Pros: All food is vegan , The sushi we had all banged , Fantastic service

Bruine rijst vegan sushi - Edit

Once you go vegan sushi you never go back - Edit
A while ago we went to the Vegan Sushi Bar at the Kinkerstraat in Amsterdam. We loved everything about it, from the atmosphere to the food itself. So when we found out that they have two restaurants in Amsterdam, we had an excellent excuse to visit once more.
Read moreThis time we tried the restaurant at the Wittenburgergracht. It’s a brisk 25 minute walk from Amsterdam central station. This so-called “down town” location is a lot smaller than the “west side” restaurant. It has only 2 tables, some seats at the bar and the window (to be on the safe side, do make a reservation). The space has been decorated in good taste with a mural painting, Japanese bonsai trees and a big sign on the wall that says “Happy fish” (in Japanese). The average Happy Cow fan will feel right at home!
During our first visit, we ordered what the chef recommended (“flambé salmon” and “shrimp-less tempura”). These were spectacularly good. This time the chef wasn’t as chatty and the kitchen was slow in preparing all orders.
This meant we had to navigate the menu by ourselves. First we tried the “green genovesa” which is fairly bland but saved by the pesto on top. The “no chicken teriyaki” is tasty, but we couldn’t find anything that resembled chicken. The “sweet avocado tree” is good and even better with some soy sauce and wasabi. The only disappointment was the “tropical spicy mango”. The name suggests an interesting mix of sweet and spicy that would cause a sensation like sweet and sour sauce does. Instead it’s just a sweet sushi with a slice of pepper on the top.
During our second visit, we found out that not everything on the menu is spectacularly good. However, everything is tasty, original, beautifully presented and most important: better than the original. So no matter which branch you visit: once you go Vegan Sushi Bar you never go to back regular sushi!
Pros: Fantastic food , Nice atmosphere , Beautiful presentation
Cons: Slow service (your mileage may vary), Limited seating

Sushi heaven - Edit
Small place in the east part of the city centre. Seats around 15 people inside. There's also a terrace outside (not heated). Not cheap but worth every penny! Prepared with care by a Japanese chef, the Sushi is very delicious and original. Large variety of choices.
