great sandwiches!

I was recently on holiday in Rome and as always on the look-out for vegan places to try out. wanting something quick, I ended up coming here. the woman who owns the store was very friendly and helpful. the shop has no real menu, but instead she'll let you add anything you want to your sandwich. no worry, she also makes suggestions! I ended up having a sandwich with vegan salami/vegan cheese (which I got to taste before-hand) and added to that some veggies and condiments. will definitely be coming back if I'm ever in Rome again.

Pros: very friendly, lots of things you can get here, excellent food

Cons: none

lovely lady amazing cheese

Store is run by a very sweet lady who was very kind and let me taste multiple cheeses before buying them. She also was very knowledgable on their different qualities, textures etc (if they melt, smell, ...) and I was very happy with my purchase! You can buy most of the cheeses except for some artisanal ones by weight which is very handy if you're only in Rome for a shorter period of time! Definitely worth checking out!

Pros: very helpful shopkeeper , lots of vegan options you can buy by weight , possibility to taste test

Cons: near some meat stalls

Authentic Italian market deli stall

Very cool little shop/stall in the middle of a market surrounded by dead animals. The owner was super nice and welcoming and made us some authentic Italian style paninis with her recommended ingredients. She doesn't have a menu, but instead makes you a sandwich with any ingredients she has on hand. You can choose, but we just trusted her. Good stuff! Worth stopping by for sure!

Excellent Resource

Vegan Store has pretty much everything a vegan mini market should offer. Barbara gave us some chickpea cheese to try which was absolutely amazing. Italian cheeses are some of the best in the world, so, naturally, Italian vegans have to come up with high-quality vegan substitutes. The cheese we tried and later bought was produced in Tuscany and had a really nice and intense taste. We also tasted some vegan ham and salami and had two panini made by Barbara which we ate right away.
Barbara told us that the market used to be a slaughterhouse and that she was assaulted by some of the other store owners on various occasions, but she continues to try and educate the locals about the injustices done to animals.

Pros: Great artisanal cheese, Knowledgeable owner, Great range of products

Beautiful vegan store

The only 100% vegan store in all of Rome. Please pay this place a visit and help support the amazing woman who opened this store ten mths ago. Surrounded by butcher shops she needs all the support she can get!

The small store is stall/box number 83 in the Testaccio Markets. Large tourist destination and centrally located.

The owner is a (very) chatty and lovely women who enjoys a good conversation and is happy to talk about all things vegan.

The shop offers fresh juices and sandwiches along with refrigerated mock meats and vegan milk products and dry goods. Himalaya Cosmetics are available here too. There are some bulk items for purchase.

I bought a Italian vegan cheese (photo uploaded) - Gondino Stagionato and along side the Swiss Vegusto brand it's by far the BEST VEGAN CHEESE on the market the universe over!

Please come support and help the only 100% vegan store in all of Rome (and don't forget to buy that cheese above)

Pros: Lovely owner, 100% vegan, centrally located (near piramide station)

Cons: sadly surrounded by butcher shops

Entirely vegan - completamente vegan

A very nice store with a very nice staff (vegan) in the center of the city (Testaccio).
You can buy a lot of vegan products to eat home, but also a very delicious pizza stuffed with cold cuts and cheeses, for a metropolitan picnic. Brownies, cannoli and ciambellone as dessert.

Come dolce, gli ottimi brownies, ciambellone e cannoli by "Breaking Bread bistrot".
Per mangiare, lo spazio all'aperto con tavolini, al centro del mercato, è a disposizione degli avventori: un angolino davvero niente male.

Grazie

During my stay in Rome almost every vegan place was closed, so it was like paradise when I found this tiny store.... The shop assistant girl is awesome, very friendly and very enthusiastic about veganism.... The cheese I bought here is fantastic... thank you....
