A Roman Must! - Edit
Tucked in the characteristic Mercato Testaccio, you will find this cozy deli-and-shop, owned by real animal lovers. The sandwiches we tried were amazing, but what I was most excited about was the selection of handmade seitan and nut cheeses sold by weight. I had never seen such a big piece of cashew cheese! It tastes totally unlike violife. This place is some of the best that vegan Rome has to offer.

Doesn't serve food anymore - Edit
Little shop with lots of interesting vegan products and "meat". Unfortunately, they don't serve paninis etc. anymore so don't go there if you're just looking for a place to eat.

Friendly owner and delicious panini! - Edit
Great place! Delicious sandwiches with deli meats and cheeses, all completely vegan!
Read moreThe owner is super-friendly and very welcoming. I tasted a bunch of different meats and cheeses before choosing what would go in my sandwich; I had two and they were both great.
I recommend the spicy chickpea cheese especially.
Also a large selection of all sorts of vegan goodies; pestos, meats, cheeses, tea etc. Would definitely go again!

This place is Amazing - Edit
We had such a nice experience here! The woman who runs it is really lovely, and made two beautiful sandwiches for us. She had the flavours perfectly paired! They were so good we ended up getting a third. Amazing desserts display too.

Great vegan stall - Edit
I've been there in a Mercato Testaccio open day, in wich the market is open till night and hosts concerts and different activities (also for children). During open days the Vegan Stall offers special menus. I had a huge combined dish that comprised rice, red beans, pea hummus with carrot sticks, purple cabbage hummus, sautéed endive with olives and toasted bread cubes and a walnut bread bun. The menu actually included also a portion of gazpacho, but the combination dish was so big that I didn't take it. The entire menu that was all homemade costed 15 euros (I paid 12 because I didn't take the gazpacho). There were 3 options of dessert too (with a raw one), but I was completely full with my plate so I couldn't try them! I think it was a reasonable price for such a huge portion and a healthy, complete organic and good menu. I was there in a special occasion but the staff was friendly and the stall was welcoming with plenty of photos and leaflets about compassionate vegan lifestyle. They sells many different organic vegan products (vegan cheeses and vegan cold cuts above all). I will surely come back in a "normal" day to try their offers.

an absolute gem - Edit
ran by a lovely lady who was eager to show us all of her really tasty meats and cheeses. We got to try some before deciding what to put in our toasted sandwich. It was so tasty and she makes all of the meat and cheese herself. Definitely worth a visit, and definitely bring along your omni friends because this stuff could convert people in a second. €6 for a panini but totally worth it for all the work and love she puts into those sandwiches 😍

The lady who runs this little store/cafe is SO friendly and welcoming. She had us trying every different vegan cheese and meat that she had before we chose our lunch. She can basically make any combination with the ingredients she has which includes some artisanal cheeses and meats she has made especially for her.

Fantastic - Edit
I can’t say enough positive things about this little stall in the market. The owner was so accommodating and spoke excellent English, which was really helpful for us as a pair of North Americans traveling. She gave us samples to try before we decided on our sandwiches and took the time to tell us why she liked each offering. The cold cuts and cheese were the best I’ve had in Europe, by far! Delicious sandwich and reasonable price. She is an ambassador for vegans and kindness in a market full of butchers and animal products. Go support her!

Fabulous service from a lovely owner. We had tastes of different cheeses and salamis (all vegan). The Torta Di Nonna was delicious and we also managed to buy some lovely soaps as presents. We will definitely be back next time we are in Rome!

This place is amazing. I had a toasted sandwich today that had vegan ‘cold meats’, vegan cheese, cashews and chilli sauce and it was simply to die for. Best lunch I’ve had so far in Rome! The owner is also super friendly and passionate about what she does. Can’t recommend enough!

Amazing! - Edit
I wandered in just on the off-chance of getting some lunch, but was very kindly greeted and offered lots of different options. The range of food is unbelievable and I was able to try things I never knew existed (Vegan Camembert!). Some of it is sourced locally and so is unavailable elsewhere. She also made lots of suggestions and was so friendly. Just so passionate about people trying vegan food and having a good time. And I even made a friends with one of the other customers. One of the best places I’ve been to! If you’re in the area you simply must go. The day after I first visited I walked for over an hour out of my way to go back for more!

A welcome change in a market full of meat and cheese! - Edit
Great to have this stall in the Testaccio market which is full of meat and cheese! Tons of vegan meat and cheese options and customizable sandwiches and panini made fresh to order. Lots of other vegan products like pasta, spreads and sauces, candy, and baked good sold here as well. The owners are extremely friendly and speak English. On every occasion I've visited this stall they've been so welcoming and informative. Would definitely recommend going here!

Vegan mini supermarket - Edit
This 100% vegan store is managed by a lovely spiritual lady who is really passionate about veganism. On the walls of this vegetarian store there are many posters and stickers to support a natural healthy lifestyle and to support the fight for liberation of our animal friends. They offer all kinds of vegetable sausages, vegan cheese and also some gluten free products. The service is very friendly, fast and helpful. Many of their products are organic. The sausage they sell is imported from Germany to serve the highest quality and the cheese is produced in Italy. It was a pleasure to taste the various kinds of veggie cheese and soy sausage. They also offer animal friendly cosmetics, hair colour and toothpaste. Various kinds of vegetable milk, nuts, seeds & seitan burger are also part of their repertoire. Have a look at the photos!! See you again soon!!

Cheese lover's waterhole - Edit
For someone like me who turned vegan (too) late in life, cheese may be one of the things you miss most. But look no further! This is the place to go. The best vegan cheese, and therefore also the best vegan sandwiches to find in Europe. Served by charming Barbara in her cozy little shop perfectly situated along the road between the Fiumicino airport and the centre of Rome. Make sure you make a stop right here!

Best vegan sandwich! - Edit
This place is so needed in Rome where the vegan and plant based options are either too small or too expensive. Whether you're on holiday or living in Rome, come by and check this place out. And order a custom sandwich. You won't be dissapointed. I wrote a post on my blog bostel vegan about this place. It's really amazing.
