Expected good things but got something else - Edit
The veggie burger was good and large, though the wedges were not crisp.
Read moreThe macaroni in tomato sauce had a ton of sugar which made me empty the entire dispenser of pepper into it, even after which it couldn't be saved. Felt like I was eating a dessert. It was pretty inedible.
The onion rings were fried in coconut oil, so those who can't stand its smell/taste will dislike it.
The dip tasted funny as well, not sure what was up with it.
Unfortunately there aren't any more options for vegan food in west Nusa Penida so we were forced to go there.
I'd suggest avoiding the trip to Nusa Penida altogether though for this reason and the fact that the sights are crowded and underwhelming and it's just a hassle overa - just watch a video online.
Pros: Calm location, Sounds of nature, The cost
Cons: The food, The flies, The time to serve

Hidden away from the crowd - Edit
Finding a fully vegan place in Nusa Penida was a pleasant surprise. I wasn’t sure what to expect in terms of food quality, but I have to admit, I was blown away by the taste. We tried the coconut tofu curry, satay tempeh, a smoothie bowl with granola, iced latte with coconut milk, and coconut rice pudding. The coconut tofu curry and satay tempeh were both delicious and very satisfying. The smoothie bowl felt like heaven on earth after riding around the island in the scorching heat. The coconut rice pudding, however, was just average, which wasn’t quite what I expected. Overall, it was a satisfying experience.

My gosh.. YUM - Edit
It's difficult as a vegan used to having a small list to chose from to walk into somewhere like this and see a massive all vegan menu! Although it took a while to pick, I was glad with my decision, however, I would have loved to have tried everything!!
Read moreGado gado is delicious- the best we've had in Indonesia probably. Also the onion rings were super tasty.
The restaurant is off the beaten track somewhat but the road is fine to reach it (put it into Google maps as HC not correct)
Place is super cute- no shoes inside which was nice. Lots of cute dogs about too.
Pros: So much choice!, Delicious vegan food , Affordable

Tasty Tofu Curry, but… - Edit
I felt very sick the morning after. The curry tasted very good, maybe the best one I had in a while, but I think the wooden plates they serve them in are not very hygienic.

Lebensmittelvergiftung 0 Sterne!! - Edit
Nachdem ich dort gegessen habe, hatte ich anschließend eine schlimme Lebensmittelvergiftung. Nicht zu empfehlen. Die Hygiene scheint dort unzureichend zu sein. Am liebsten würde ich 0 Sterne geben.

Really nice place to visit, with beautiful views. Fantastic that the restaurant is all vegan, but some of the dishes we had were not that great. Still worth a visit if only for the view.

Mitten im Dschungel von Penida gibt es fabelhafte vegane Küche. Die Currys waren super lecker und der Tempeh ein Traum. Der rote Reis ist ein weiter Pluspunkt.

Must visit - Edit
If you're on Nusa Penida you MUST visit here. A beautiful hilltop location with a nice breeze coming through. Huge menu of both Asian and western food. The tofu curry was amazing, and my husband, who only wanted something plain, loved the avocado toast. Juices were perfect. Great place for a chilled out meal or afternoon.

Hidden Vegan Gem - Edit
Vegan Soul in Nusa Penida is a jackpot for vegans and foodies alike in Nusa Penida. Their menu? Oh boy, it's like a treasure trove of mouthwatering, healthy vegan options that'll make your taste buds dance with joy.
Read moreThe prices won't burn a hole in your pocket, which is a huge plus considering the quality and variety they offer.
But here's the deal: Getting there by scooter in the late afternoon or evening might seem like an adventure, but trust me, getting back could be a bit of a challenge. The road is all forested and can get pretty gnarly, so keep that in mind before you set out.
However, if you're up for a tasty vegan feast and a little bit of thrill, Vegan Soul is totally worth checking out. Just remember to plan your return trip wisely – safety first, always!
Pros: Amazing tranquil garden, Super tasty vegan dishes, Average price range
Cons: It's middle of nowhere, No delivery

Great food! Go during the day! - Edit
Portions were quite large, really delicious. We went at night but I would recommend going during the day because id imagine it would be a stunning view. It would be great on the way back from crystal bay. I had the budda bowl

Go during the day - Edit
We’ve been there twice during our stay on Nusa Penida. The first time was after sunset and it was incredibly hard to find. Nearly turned back but we found it. The view is stunning and the food is good. Go there when on the island.

Hidden gem with great sunset view - Edit
We found this hidden gem coincidentally. The staff is super lovely, they make great vegan food, they have a great view over the jungle - especially for sunset - and the prices are still very moderate for good portions (25k for Balinese Ice coffee with coconut milk and juices, 45-65k for main courses). We came back for dinner and breakfast 5 times. We can recommend the Ice Coffee, Juices, Smoothies, Bowls (both sweet and savory), toasts, as well as the Indonesian food (so everything we could try)

An absolute gem - Edit
So glad we visited here. Surely must be the best vegan food on Nusa Penida. We enjoyed our breakfast so much that we returned for food in the evening too. Brilliant selection. Try the pancakes and the traditional indonesian food! Just gorgeous. The service was so friendly and the views at sunset were divine. I want to live here.

Really disappointing, would not return - Edit
I really don’t enjoy giving a vegan place a bad review (especially one somewhere like Nusa Penida as it’s great to have the option) but my partner and I truly did not expect it to be so poor after checking out the reviews. We ordered the onion rings, which were strangely pungent and sweet. It might have been something in the batter, but whatever it was, it made them inedible. I tried picking off half the batter to see if they were more palatable that way, but the taste was still overwhelming. For mains I ordered the burger, which was okay (but the chips had that strange funky sweetness to them too) and my partner ordered the tofu curry. It was the blandest thing we’ve ever tried while eating out. Just severely underwhelming and poor quality overall, except for the iced coffee.
