Flavorful dumplings - Edit
Really enjoyed the private dining experience, with only 6 seats it’s pretty intimate. The chef was attentive and it was pretty impressive how she managed to serve everyone and keep the vibes in this place.

Very cute place with intimate atmosphere, delicious tapas-style food, and very friendly service. There was no language issue and all vegan food. We sampled various drinks after dinner as well. Highly recommended!

Wonderfull - Edit
We had a wonderfull meal. It’s a small restaurant with 6 seats opposite the kitchen, lovely owners who prepare the food in front of you. The food and wine were delicious and presented in a beautifull way. My wife is a Vegetarian, but i also loved it all, especially the vegan yakitori, it was remarkable how well prepared and ‘meaty’ it was! Would definitly recommend!

Over expectations! - Edit
This quiet and peaceful restaurant provides tasty affordable food at a great location. The dashi dumplings were the best, and it was served with a really tasty soup, similar to polish. The dough was really soft and scrumptious.

So Special - Edit
Such a wonderful find. An intimate little spot with classic Japanese fare. Very friendly staff who will translate for English - a little Japanese will go a long way. The food was delicious and fresh and light. A little pricey for smaller servings but it is wonderful for a special occasion. I cannot recommend it enough.

Must go! - Edit
The most fantastic vegan meal we have had in Kyoto! Only seats about 6 or 7 people at a time looking over the kitchen while they prepare your food. Traditional Japanese food made vegan that tastes incredible! A must try in Kyoto! Take a walk along Pontocho Park after you are finished!

Fantastic dinner - Edit
A cozy restaurant located very conveniently near Gion. The izakaya style food was very tasty. But what impressed us the most was their service. It was a rainy night and we were tired after a long day. The two member staff helped us find a place to sit. They even gave us a free dessert. Will make it a point to go back the next time we visit Kyoto:

Must be in Kyoto, Japan (close to beatiful places!) - Edit
Set close to the historical and traditional area of Gion, this tiny place offers you a variety of delicious vegan food, served with courtesy and kindness. My suggestion is to....try various dishes! It's a kind o tapas bar (it's perfect for what in Italy we call "aperitivo") but it's also great to have your dinner here before an evening walk through the streets of Kyoto.

Very lovely staff - Edit
The food is amazing and the staff are so lovely. We came in when they were empty and they sat us (3) even though it meant that if a couple came there would be an empty seat, which then happened. We ordered food including the dashi rice dish and the yakiniku and it was all so tasty. Once we had finished eating they were polite and didn’t rush us out at all, despite there being a queue and again - we had left an empty seat in the small restaurant.

Just amazing - Edit
This little 6-seater vegan izakaya was really great. The food is tapas style with each dish ranging from around 300-800 yen. I personally needed 4 dishes bringing my total spend to a little over 2100 yen.
Read moreThe staff are really nice and took time to talk with me a little bit as well.
The presentation of the food is lovely. Unfortunately they didn’t have the yuzu tofu when I was there but I instead had yuba. The yuba and the gyoza in broth were a little bit too delicate for my preference but the broiled rice in broth and Obanzai plate were packed with flavour and were really great. Will definitely be going back to try more.
I also saw the drinks they were making for others and they looked incredible so will also try those next time.
Pros: All vegan, Big variety, Cool restaurant

Must visit - Edit
Great stop in a great part of town. Really enhanced our evening. Japanese food at reasonable prices. Open late which is great as most places close so early for my eating pattern. Food is interesting and delicious. Staff are so lovely. I don’t like deserts but even enjoyed theirs! Sake was great also. Love that it’s small portions so lots to try. Will revisit in our short stay here

Lovely little authentic Kyoto spot! - Edit
This was such a wonderful experience. The service and food are incredible. It’s like izakaya style with small plates and they are all fairly priced so order a bunch, get a sake, and enjoy!! We basically ordered the whole menu and it was so affordable and delicious and a truly memorable experience. So glad we went here when in Kyoto! it’s small so if the seats inside are taken you could start outside (standing) and then move inside like we did. Don’t miss this place!

A brilliant late night vegan tapas spot - Edit
Hidden down a side street of kyoto's bustling nightlife district lies a vegan gem. You'd be hard pressed to fit more than eight people here, but thanks to its fold down outside tables, you cns happily lean over and enjoy what this restaurant has to offer.

Must visit when in Kyoto - Edit
There are only a few seats inside but the staff were incredibly friendly. Menu is in English and there is a good selection of traditional Japanese foods. Dishes are small and tapas style - you order a few if you want a proper meal but if you just want a drink and snack you can also do that. The food was excellent but the hospitality really made it special. We got a seat around 7pm on a Friday but it started to fill up quickly after that. We spent around 5.5k yen for two but that was for a couple of drinks each and multiple dishes. You could easily eat for cheaper here if you wanted. Would highly recommend for anyone visiting in Kyoto.

Friendly staff and delicious small plates - Edit
We stumbled upon this restaurant and had such a lovely experience. The venue is very small with patrons standing at a counter. We ordered flavored sodas and several small plates, including their dumpling soup, pickled plums, grilled rice balls, vegan bacon, and boiled peanuts. Everything was delicious!
