Great! - Edit
Nice servers who will try to talk to you even if you don’t speak too much Japanese.
Read moreThe broth for the ochazuke and gyoza is really good. Has a bar and small plates kind of feel. Open late. Nice location for a walk afterwards. Overall, recommend!

Great Small Eats, Excellent Sake - Edit
Great staff, who chatted with us as we stumbled through Japanese. Good food, though standing and small portions. Definitely a grab and go eating situation but would recommend for a quick pick-me-up.

Fun and delicious - Edit
More of a bar than a restaurant. Great food I have never tried before. Friendly staff with generous pours of sake. The restaurant is very small with standing room only.
Read moreI ordered the obonzai and dashi chazuke, both Kyoto-native dishes I had never tried before visiting. One of the servers showed me how to eat dashi chazuke, which was fun. Also offers a vegan tasting menu that requires a reservation in advance.
Edited review to remove note about incorrect location - it’s been fixed.

Delicious and congenial - Edit
6 seat bar/restaurant with a chatty bartender.
Read moreIt’s a very simple menu- a dashi chazuke plate, or you can buy the individual components of the plate, and there’s a small bar menu. The plate is the chazuke, a fried onigiri, and a traditional “obanzai” pickle set.
The flavours are excellent, and the bartender was happy to confirm that none of my food intolerances were included. Pricing is totally reasonable for the set, at about 1000 JPY, drinks are normal bar prices.

Cozy place, excellent dashi - Edit
Friendly staff, all vegan menu (currently only one item though), serves vegan wine as well. The dashi was too good. Would like to buy some.
Read morePros: The dashi was too delicious., Open till 2 am. Friendly 店長, Serves vegan wine as well
Cons: A bit Expensive for dashi rice and a bit of sides., Presently only one menu. Will increase in future., Place is small:4人. So, can't cater to large crowd.
