Delicious food , Curt Take Away Service - Edit
Really tasty vegan food, but certainly not Dr. Esselstyn ( my guru and hero) compliant - which is low fat low ,sugar , and low salt. I knew it wouldn't be healthy food but at least it's vegan. So now I'm paying the price with that old familiar osteoarthritis discomfort feeling in almost every joint -but it will pass. so during this covid 19 crap we ordered from the takeaway menu. We had the jalapeno cheddar burger (5stars) with french fries (5 stars), the Buffalo chicken tacos (5 stars - so good) with smothered french fries( 2 stars). The service was very surly and extremely cold, but I will chalk it up to confusion over the order during the pick up process and nothing more meaningful than that.

Incredible food! - Edit
I ate here for lunch and the food was amazing. The prices are high, but it’s a small vegan business operating from what looks to be a house. The service was great and all of the people working here are very nice.

BEST FRIES AND BURGERS - Edit
Soul food that actually TASTES like soul food. Wonderful owner, awesome staff, incredible food, and cozy eating environment. When you look at everything you think you’ll walk out in a food coma, but despite the meals being pretty heavy, they don’t make you feel heavy at all. Perfectly cooked and seasoned fries as well. Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes that rival the best of the best out there. Great portions as well.

The Spicy Creole Seitan Wings - Edit
Good grief, I've been here a handful of times and 90% of the time I've gotten their wings. They are the perfect texture, and the flavor of the sauce is just immaculate. True southern cooking.
Read moreI also had the "Honey Drip" chick'un sandwich and the Nashville Hot Sandwich (Oyster Mushrooms), both very good and will leave you full after a couple of bites.
Their desserts are great as well.

Can’t wait to go back! - Edit
We don’t live in Dallas but come several times a year. Will definitely stop in next time. There were 3 of us and we all ordered different. EVERYTHING was great. Mac & cheese, shrimp and cauliflower. The only disappointment where the fries – but we were interested in those anyway!

A beautiful and intimate setting with some seriously good eats! Menu stated where modifications could be made for gluten free options. My only regret was not going back the next day :)

Comfortable place with good vegan food - Edit
This is what looks like a converted house with shabby chic tables and chairs, homey decorations, and nice music playing. It is casual and comfortable. You order at a counter in the back and take a number to your table.
Read moreThe menu had a lot of choices with many Cajun options. We had a shrimp po boy and a seitan wing basket with honey drip BBQ sauce. The food was really good. The fries were seasoned nicely and tasty. My wife said the po boy had too much sauce. We ordered a brown sugar lemonade, which was a cup of ice with a splash of lemonade.
Overall, it was good. It was very busy while we were there. Service was friendly.

Great food, will be visiting again! - Edit
Went with my bestie before a concert on a Friday evening. It was a pretty chill atmosphere. I got the 4 fried swimp tacos with fries and she got the original buffalo mac & cheese chick’em sandwich. We split both (which I recommend you do). The entrees were super filling and seasoned to perfection. We plan on returning and making our way through the menu.

Southern ❤ Comfort Food - Edit
Casual, order at the desk restaurant. Jazz soundtrack, helpful employees, and most of all, delicious food. With a definite cajun streak.
Read moreI guarantee you will order too much on your first visit. We did! Cauliflower Hot wings are spicy and delicious. This time we stuck to two entrees and split the Bacon avocado and tomato on toast sandwich and blacked shrimp street tacos, both served up with tasty well seasoned french fries. Be sure to check the hours before you head here, they aren't open late!

Best Cajun vegan food I’ve ever had (some of the best food I’ve ever had) - Edit
We ordered the Shrimp Nachos, Shrimp and Grits, CauliWings, the OG Sandwich and The Beyond Burger. I couldn’t believe how much the shrimp tasted and looked like shrimp (still questioning this), but it was the best shrimp and grits and nachos I’ve ever had. As usual, the Beyond Burger was stellar (we all love the fries too). The Cauliflower Wings were pretty good. The sauce was amazing, but I wish that the cauliflower was cut into smaller pieces and was crispier. My friend says that the OG sandwich was the best sandwich he has ever had, and he is a carnivore.

Amazing food with friendly service! - Edit
5 star experience. My husband and I ordered a ton of food and loved everything! The service was friendly and the atmosphere was hip. My absolute favorites were the Chick’am Sammich (Oyster Mushroom) and Shrimp Creole Nachos. You can’t go wrong, you will love whatever you decide to order. This is a true Vegan gem!

A yummy new vegan option - Edit
Many options for southern fried food. Loved the jalapeño poppers and all the options with avocado. Visual presentation was excellent and flavors were rich and yummy. I’m not a big fan of fried food in general but if you are, this is the place. My daughter doesn’t usually like French fries but loved them here.

I'll be back in a little while - Edit
I liked the place. Staff is friendly. The food was good. I want to go back in a while maybe a few weeks or a month to see if theyve hired the staff they need to run the kitchen.
Read moreAlso, I want to try a few more things before rating this place higher. Here is my experience and some notes... VFH opens at noon on Sunday and we were the first five people in line to get in and order and it still took around 35 mins to get our food after ordering. Too long! I recommend obviously hiring asap (there is a sign that their looking to hire asap) and also have a sign for customers letting them they need to order at the desk. While we waiting to get our food people kept coming in and didn't know what to do. They stood at the door waiting to be seated. They were really busy and with how long everything was taking, there's no chance I was going to order anything to take home that day.
Pros: Vegan restaurant, Friendly staff
Cons: Takes too long to get food

The most delicious food! - Edit
Vegan Food House is everything I ever wanted and more. It was love at first bite... They serve comfort Southern food with a Cajun twist. There’s absolute nothing on the menu that you won’t be happy with. Everything is well seasoned and cooked to perfection and it had me wanting more. This is now my favorite restaurant in Dallas and I’m looking forward to many, many more visits. And yes, everything is vegan. And you won’t be able to tell the difference!
