Could be better - Edit
Ordered a Nashville hot chick em sandwich medium hot. It was delicious. Nice amount of spice and the sandwich was very flavorful. The fries that came with it, on the other hand, were not good. They were completely soggy. The macaroni was just ok. All in all, I would try other things here but just be warned, quality may lack.

Worst Service Ever - Edit
Hands-down one of the worst customer experiences I’ve ever had. The staff was actively rude and incredibly unwelcoming. The food was awesome!! We had fried avocado salad, fried cauliflower burger, fried cauliflower wings w/sides. The Mac n cheese was meh, but no one nails that vegan-style.
Read moreThe jalapeño ranch was super yummy!
So, the staff seemed to be completely put out by our existence. It was evident they did not want anything to do with helping us. Food did not come out together, so some food sat getting cold while we waited for the rest. The staff was standing around while tables were left dirty. Such a shame that the food was great, but I would never recommend given the terribly disdainful service.
Pros: Jalapeño Ranch, Cauliflower wings, Smashed potatoes
Cons: Rude staff, Self service-automatic tip, Ill-timed food

Really flavorful and quick - Edit
We got BBQ and Buffalo Cauliflower Wings, fish tacos, and the Spicy Cucumber drink. I love spicy cocktails and margaritas, and I’m kind of obsessed with the Spicy Cucumber. All the food was really good, too. Especially the fries.

Good Taste! But Made Me Feel Sick - Edit
My non-vegan mom loved their salad and onion strings. The chicken burger was great taste-wise, but whatever oil/cooking product was used to crisp the mushroom made the patty too oily for me. I felt sick after eating here due to the excess oil. I’d come back but I’d stick to a salad.

I have nothing but amazing things to say about this place but my words would never be able to do it justice. It’s a place I wish I could eat everyday. I’ve gone twice and it just gets better and better. Being from New Orleans, I appreciate their food. #Veganuary

Best Vegan food I’ve had so far! - Edit
My husband and I searched for vegan places in the DFW area and this place was one of a few that popped up! The experience was different, but in a good way! The vegan burger I had was amaze-balls! The menu had so many optional choices. The staff were pretty chill & friendly! The environment was vibey, and I loved it too!

Vegan Food Inside - Edit
Vegan Food House
Read more1st: The music🎶 is a bit loud in the dining room and not good 👎🙃. 2nd: The online ordering at the table don't work on all cellphone📱and can be difficult for some people. 3rd: Price is $$💸-💰$$$ but it is all "Vegan/Plant Base" 🥑🥬🍄🧆🥗here. 4th: Now the food which was pretty good that's what's keeping the score up. Chef got it out in a reasonable amount of time and it was cooked pretty tasty. You get a large amount of food for the price. Pretty big menu to choose from just this place is more set up for a pickup and possibly delivery. While I was there it is extremely popular and this was of course on a Saturday afternoon. I would say if you're definitely in the Bishop Arts District area of Dallas, Texas. This should be on your list to stop by, try out and enjoy 👍👍
Special note the parking is street parking only. I could not find a parking lot for this particular restaurant.
Pros: The dining area is set up well, Caters to a vegan crowd, Outdoor seating area is nice
Cons: Somewhat expensive but it is vegan, No parking directly for this establishment, Online ordering can be difficult

Wouldn't recommend. See below. - Edit
I was so ready to love this place. But waiting an hour and 15 minutes for two sandwiches was ridiculous. We were offered free lemonades for our troubles, seriously? The hostess was nice and apologetic but learning that this wait time is normal (menu says 20 minutes is standard) for this restaurant really sealed the deal. I wouldn't come back and I'd feel bad recommending this frustration to a friend.
Read moreThe food:
Croque Monsieur was really good. Salad was spring greens, frozen blueberries, walnuts, no dressing.
Fish Po Boy was better in theory than in practice. The taste was there but the mushrooms were almost impossible to bite through. The fries left a lot to be desired.

Cons: Long wait, Not cheap

AMAZEBALLS ... But know what to expect - Edit
First things first.
Read more1) Virtual ordering for erry'thang. QR code on door for patio in house dining, QR codes on tables inside, for eating inside. veganfoodhouse.com for TO GO.
2) WEEKENDS ARE A SLAM. Eating in? EXPECT AN HOUR TO HOUR AND HALF WAIT FOR YOUR GRUB! AT LEAST. Plan ahead, come with ppl who you like to talk to.
3) If you order to go. DO NOT USE THE ESTIMATED TIME TEXT. When your food is ready, you will get a text saying so. On weekends, that estimated time is CRAP. It will most like take an hour or more. SO WAIT for the "ready" text. TO GO WILL STILL TAKE AN HOUR OR MORE TO BE READY.
4) You got thoughts on how they need a bigger kitchen, more staff, more prep work? Shut the [censored] up. You don't think they know? That kitchen is SMALL, and they are CRANKING your amazing ass food out. You try hiring staff during COVID.
5) THIS IS A SELF SERVE GIN JOINT. Don't walk up in here and think to yourself...."today, I'm going to be brought everything I need." No heifers....pick your ass up and walk to the little self serve bar by the front door, grab your silverware, napkins, water, and then sit your ass down. And if that's just UNBELIEVABLE for you, kindly remind yourself that we are still in the midst of a [censored] pandemic. A pandemic that affects folks in customer service WAY more than others. A pandemic that has probably seen many loved ones of your service worker folks (busting out your food) pass away. These folks have a crap ton of contact all day with folks coming in and out. The less they have to be in contact with you, the better it is FOR THEM. So, don't whine, don't pout. Do the damn deed and get your ish and order your food from the website, and try not to let your eyes get stuck to the top of your head while you're rolling them at the inhumane inconvenience of this particular 1st world problem. Not to mention, this place is SELF SERVE.
If ppl are running food to tables, it's bc they can, and aren't slammed. But, keep an ear out for your name to be called. They don't know your face or name. Listen and wave!
Finished? Dump trash and return your tray to the part of the self serve station where trays are returned. Let me reiterate for folks who seem to think it's WAY too beneath them to clean up after themselves after eating....THROW YOUR [censored] AWAY AND PUT YA TRAY UP. Y'all NASTY for leaving your [censored] around after you're done.
You cannot order something that isn't 100% delicious, I've tried their tacos, jackfruit sandwhich..AMAZING.
Pros: Bang up job on EVERY Dish, solid drinks, Super nice staff even though their slammed
Cons: the wait can be over an hour and a half on wkends, To Go Orders have to wait on a "ready" txt

Soul food is good for your SOUL - Edit
Southern cuisine done right. Even my meat-eating friends and family can’t get enough. This is a place you go to get converts. If you’re looking for healthy and bland, this place ain’t it. This is for yummy comfort food that will make you feel fat and happy without hurting animals in the process. The staff is really nice and are patient. I had ALL the questions. Definitely give it a shot.

I ordered for a battered woman and they never delivered. Hung up on me. - Edit
They hung up when I called to ask what delivery company. Then I called another day and the person seemed nice and then she left me on hold for 45 minutes. You have great food, when fresh. But your service is so bad that we would not tolerate it in a regular restaurant. Sadly the battered woman that was Vegan and staying at a hotel never ate that night. Your people should be able to tell the delivery company when I order from your website. Without getting frustrated. I called at 8:00 an hour after you closed and I expect everyone was ready to go home. But even the person in the background told her to just hang up. My wife loves the food so I will probably have to come again. But I will only order for her. Never again for me and definitely not for anyone else.

Best tasting vegan food in DFW - Edit
I'm so happy that there's a place like the Vegan Food House in Dallas. They have alot of really good southern comfort and cajun foods. Their secret? The seasoning! I have gone to alot of vegan restaurants and the flavor always seemed "off" but the food at VFH is on point!

Eat here - Edit
At first I thought it was a little pricey, but when I got my order I understood why. Each dish is big enough to feed 2 adults! So much food! The taste of everything I ordered was out of this world. Dallas vegans: this place is a must try! Surprisingly, my favorite dish was the sautéed kale that came with my big chick’em plate. Phenomenal.

Comfort food at its finest! - Edit
Been a huge fan of Liz and VFH since she was with Da Munchies prior to starting VFH. Always impressed with her creativity and passion for bringing vegan comfort food to Dallas in a big way. The portions are always heaping and that’s always stuck out to me, in a good way. There’s always innovation to the menu so no matter what kind of craving you have, you won’t be disappointed.
