Read moreI guess, since there are already so many reviews, I figured, mine wouldn't carry any weight.
I used to live one minute away and would go there frequently in 2012. They were located at a different spot back then (now, of all businesses, there is a döner kebab bar). I liked the old venue more, because it had a first floor (even though it was often closed for guests). Also, back then the portions used to be bigger.
That being said, for me personally the Cat Bar is definitely still a five-star-location. But it's a punk venue - if you don't like that, don't go there, it would only be disappointing. The food is good and decently priced.
The staff is outstandingly friendly, even though for someone not familiar with subcultural settings it might appear they have an attitude sometimes.
Every time I visit Barcelona, I try to grab a bite at the Cat Bar. Been there earlier this month and I'm looking forward to the next time.
The lastest addition: they have postcards now. Very nice idea indeed!

I loved this place. It was super chill after walking all day. All the beers were priced the same whether it was 1/2 pint 3.5€ or full pint 6€. I got to try all of them without even asking before committing to the full pour. The owner was really nice guy and all the staff I interacted with was super friendly. The back wall had lots of cat decorations and some fotos of the activism they’ve done in the past. They also got some books for reading, a piano for playing (upon approval) and a small formal dining area towards the back of the room. There’s an upstairs as well, but it wasn’t super busy when I was there so I didn’t get to see it.

Ended up just chatting and listening to all kinds of music they were showing as closing time hit. Felt like a group of friends just catching up. Will definitely be back when in bcn!

The place was easy to find, friendly and English speaking staff. A bit disappointed that there are no cats there, but the staff's dog was very cute! The food looked very good, but it was not so tasty. The burger bun was good, but the burger was soggy and a bit tasteless. The tofuish was very dry, however the potato wedges was good.

Simple and cosy place where they only serve vegan burgers with patatas bravas and salad. 8 different beers on tap, available pints and half pints. Those that I tried were fantastic. Salad and bravas were also delicious and the Burger pretty good. Strongly recommended for an easy night chatting with friends in intimate environment enjoying a few tasty pints with cruelty free pub food!

CatBar is probably one of the first vegan restaurants/bars in Barcelona, established in 2009 (long before "cat bars" were a thing, so don't expect cats running around 🐱).

The idea of trying cactus excited me. It was the main reason we chose Vegan cat bar. I liked the cactus, but it could have been improved with lemon or an additional spice or seasoning. The tofish, a tofu flank lightly crusted with breadcrumbs, was overcooked, overshadowing the nori-fish flavor. The burger was a little bland and mushy.

I ordered the Spicy Burger with potatoes on the side. The burger was fantastic, with delicious jalapeños and what looked like a custom, spicy patty. I got a dark craft beer with my burger, incredibly tasty, and cleaned my plate. The potatoes and sauce was to die for!

The Vegan Cat Bar has a gorgeous cute theme with fun music, a nice vibe, and a nice piano in the entrance.

Came here on our final night in Barcelona, friendly and helpful staff, with plenty of choice of Catalan beers on tap, wines, and vermut. Had some of their excellent homemade burgers with salad and patatas first, then the tofish and chips that came with a lovely tartar sauce, and the cactus dish: everything amazing! Could have stayed here all night to drink and eat!

Read moreThe real star is the food though! All the choices sounded soo good. We both decided on the spicy red burger (I had to opt out of onions for IBS reasons which was no problem). It was very tasty, not too spicy and I especially liked the bread which tasted very fresh and handmade. We also both had patatas bravas and they were soo tasty and had lots of (free) sauce. Would 10/10 recommend.

Went here for a quick meal so had just a burger. Might've missed out on what deliciousness the other reviews are talking about but it sure was a delicious burger. It's close proximity to the port was what inspired me to go here, and due to it's tucked-awayness I probably would've never found it without this app! The location fits the style of the bar, which is very picturesque.
