Great burgers, cool atmosphere

We got the burger with mushrooms and the black bean burger, both were delicious. The potatoes were good too. The pricing here is pretty reasonable. Cool atmosphere upstairs with a guy playing the piano downstairs. Staff were very friendly, let us try the beers before buying. Ended up coming back again while in Barcelona.

Cheap & delicious!

I stopped in here for a quick bite to eat, so I just grabbed the patatas bravas for 4 euros. Service was quick and the food was amazing!

Delicious food and great beer!

This place is awesome! Great ambiance, eclectic cats all over the place. You can taste their different beers at the bar. And the food is delicious! Such a high quality veggie burger. So worth the trip.

Great pub!

As somebody else said, service in this bar is very basic/laid-back/hippy, but if you are OK with this (I am), then sit down and enjoy the great food they offer: the best hummus in town in terms of taste, roasted potatoes (papas bravas) are simply incredible, and burgers are good (all soy-based, though, so if you want to avoid soy, you only have a couple of options in the menu).

Pros: Papas bravas!!!, Relaxed atmosphere, Cat drawings!

I'd return for beer, then food

I've been to a few craft beer places in Barcelona, surprisingly a lot of them had vegan options on their menus, or served vegan / vegetarian food only, which made me love the city even more than before. But CatBar offers the most interesting craft selection I've seen, everything on tap was from Spain.

Now, the food was quite good, but I wouldn't say mind-blowing at all. We tried a burger and a lunch, maybe those were simply not the best options on the menu. It was alright, but I would return for beer, to then eat a vegan burger: in that order :)

I also liked the vibe, the service was kinda funky, almost to the point where it seemed they didn't care about you at all, but by that time I figured it was somewhat typical for the region anyway. To be clear, I personally like this kind of a laid-back approach, but wanted to mention to set the expectations if you're reading this before going to CatBar for the first time. Definitely go there, by the way.

Vegan Burgers

This was the first vegan place we hit in Barcelona. It has a hippy vibe and nice craft beers on offer. You can buy set meals so burgers with baps or without and just with salad and potatoes. The burgers were delicious and relatively inexpensive. Not too hard to find either!

Pros: Inexpensive, Nice atmosphere, Lovely dog to pet inside

Cons: Beer is a little pricey

Amazing burger and lokal beer

I had the Champion burger and a local Barcelonian beer for around 10€, which was completely fair for one of the best burgers I've ever had. The interior is charming and messy and the service is quick.

Great Burgers & Beer!

We had not planned to be in this section of the city this trip, but found ourselves at the Picasso museum due to International Free Museum day(surprise!). I remembered reading about this place but didn't have the address with me. We asked around and found it, and we were so happy we did. The Black Cat burger was the best vegan burger I've had anywhere. And the beer was great too. Fast, friendly service and a cool atmosphere.

Pros: great food, fast, friendly service

Nice place for vegans

Burgers were good, but I had better ones before. Beer was very good. Potatoes were awesome, the salsa mayo is the best thing! Lovely place with cat pictures on the walls. :)

Great Cat Burger!

The burger was really tasty and the patatas as well. Very friendly staff and great athmosphere. Vegan bars don't have to "look like vegan bars". They proof it. Definitely coming back!

Pros: Tasty, Live music, Friendly staff

Cons: Order at bar and pay in advance

Hooray cats!

The Cat Bar is a original burger bar near Picasso Museum with a good selection of homemade beers and very nice vegan burger. Delicious hemp burger with vegetables and vegan mayonnaise whit "patatas bravas".
The walls are decorated with drawings, phrases, and another about cats, very nice two chandeliers made with creative recycling, one with forks and the other with spoons.
There are also two pianos available to anyone who wants them play.
The choice on the menu is not huge but burger and beers are very good.

Good burger

We had a good burger there with a nice beer. The location and price are OK as well. Love cats.

Only negative point: the dim light. It looked like a dark cave. Change the light bulbs ASAP!!

Pros: Food, Price, Location

Cons: Looks like a cave

No tienen variedad. Solo hamburguesas y patatas.
Hamburguesa y patata 8,50. No están mal. Llena mucho. Menú es muy pobre. La patata era rica. Creo q no volveré.

Pros: añadir más opción de bebidas

Quirky and Tasty

The menu and ordering process are simple, they have an English menu which is handy for those of us who aren't great at Spanish ?. The burgers are tasty and filling, they don't have fake meat options and instead have different 5 or so different bean/veggie burgers. It's not the best veggie burger I've ever had but it's a damn good burger. The patatas are fabulously greasy and delicious. This place is a must for vegan cat lovers ?.

Pros: Cat art , Good portions

Cool for cats

Nice and simple. 5 vegan burger options and not much else. The two we tried were good and filling. Hemp burger was ok but too much vegan mayo, ask for less if you don't like getting messy. "Crazy" burger (with nuts...) was excellent, great texture and the cheeseless pesto was very tasty. Patatas bravas with smoked paprika was a great addition.

Sign on the door said closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Maybe explains a previous reviewer's experience of finding it closed.

Pros: Pretty chilled (we visited on a weekday lunchtime), Nice craft beers , Tasty, and decent prices

Cons: No cats except those painted on the walls... Altho, Slightly scruffy appearance - I didn't mind at

Great food but...

..the list of "rules" for the place was ridiculous. Introduction to Cat Bar starts off with a correction of it's own title. Um, ok. Weak "cat theme" for what it's worth.

A push to tip meant they got less of one. Don't want to serve people or clean up after them? Don't. A portion of the food price is supposed to go towards service/staff pay. A tip is for extra special service, of which we got none. The cutlery one girl said she would bring over was never brought in the end..Treat others as you want to be treated? Indeed.

"There will be a calculator on your phone if you have trouble with arithmetic"?? (Regarding no split bills and tips) Mean-spirited sarcasm reduces the tip even more.

Not that I really care but a description of an upstairs area was described as antique (at 41 years old). Isn't antique older than 100? Anyway...*pedantic*

The silliest rule of all was having to ask permission to play after 15 minutes on the piano. And no registered music. What if your own music is registered? Dilemma...

About the booze: we had wanted a 50cl drink of an IPA but were refused because of it's percentage. I'm nearly 50 and old enough to know what I can handle. I dare say we were not served this because we weren't locals. If this was not the case, then print up several different drink menus and change them out according to your stock (and it's percentages). Or don't offer such a high percentage drink in the first place. Funny, because we were allowed to get the smaller one in multiple numbers (and for a euro more each one). We just had the one and hit the Irish bar down the road where we had 1 beer each *and a laugh*.

No photos as it was far too dark (for my liking) and they didn't come out very well.

About the food: we had the hemp and black cat burgers + patatas bravas and it was the best sauce (imo) we had in Spain. A bit pricey for the food but it is the gothic quarter and it was very filling. At least the food was good...

Pros: good food, vegan, dog friendly

Cons: too bossy, too dark, a bit pricey

Any beer over 8.5% we restrict to 28cl at a time, for everyone, as it states on the beer list.
The Beer list is next to the beers, where you can taste them, before buying, also at https://untappd.com/v/catbar/33407
All beer is 3€ for 28cl and 5€ for 50cl. (more of less 10C per cl).
You can play your own music on the piano, because it belongs to you,
the 15min piano rule is to stop bad player playing all night.
If you don't want to pay as a group, don't order as a group.
We don't push for tips, but if you want to tip there is a "tip jar" on the bar.

This restaurant is the bomb. Been everyday during my holiday. Food is so good. By far the best I've had. And the potatoes - omg! They are to die for. Cheap prices and friendly staff. They even had a dog on our second visit. Cool atmosphere. Quick service too. Highly recommended.

Pros: Friendly staff (plus a dog!!), Cheap, Tasty

Best burgers I've ever had

This place specialises in local craft beer and burgers.
Hands down the best burgers we've ever had, hence why we returned for lunch the next day to try another one! The patatas are also delicious with a seriously tasty sauce on them.
There is an English menu and you order by crossing off what you want on a sheet of paper.
Wish they did dessert too, but you cant have everything!

Pros: 100 % vegan, AMAZING burgers.

Best Burgers in Barcelona

Wie tried different Burgers. All have been very tasty and juicy. The sauces are great and also the seasoning of the potatoes. Oh and hummus is great (with loads of garlic).
At least 8 varieties of Beer. And the Service was good in explaining everything.
Its a small and cozy Bar I would really recommend to visit Ehen in Berlin.

Pros: all vegan, good beer , juicy burgers
