A must visit in CDMX - Edit
I've been in Mexico City for five days now and this was BY FAR the best food I've tasted in the city. As a vegan who doesn't speak Spanish it has been very overwhelming and discouraging trying to order and explain what vegan means, even with key words translated from English to Spanish.
Read moreWhen I walked into Vegamo I was greeted and asked if I would like a English or Spanish menu (amazing!) The restaurant was relatively empty so I was lucky enough to enjoy the top floor to myself with a great view of the street and an adorable dog saying hello to everyone who passed by. Many people came and went to take orders to go and I spent over an hour enjoying my meal and delicious house made Limonada. The atmosphere was cozy and comforting in such a busy city. The staff spoke English and were very welcoming and friendly. I hadn't had a chance to connect with anyone about veganism since I arrived so it was great to joke about people's silly thoughts about vegan eating fish, chicken, cheese, etc.
As I said, I ordered the Limonada to drink and I thought the pizza would be a good choice. They advise on their menu that certain items take longer to make, and the pizza was about 25 minutes. Time flew by and the wait wasn't a problem. The veggie pizza was incredible! The amount of veggies was amazing (nine different vegetables), the sauce, crust, everything perfecto. I ordered a Pad Thai and pesto pasta to go as well as there isn't anything close to my hotel that is vegan. They are beautiful and I can't wait to try them. Everything I ordered came to only 311 pesos, amazingly affordable with such quality to the food!
This restaurant deserves much more than five stars, it was an eleven for me. Mucho gracias!
Pros: English menus, English speaking staff, Very affordable prices

pretty good depending on what you order - Edit
I got the chilaquiles and I really liked it, but my bf got a burrito that was lacking in flavor and a little too “health food store”. Cool space though.

Simply delicious! - Edit
I literally fell in love with this place. I had the vegan falafel burger and my friend had the pizza and they were both amazing. Not to mention the raw vegan macadamia cheesecake, oh my god I am still dreaming about it :D I mean, I am vegan for a long time but these were some of the most delicious dishes I ever had. On top of that, the service is super friendly and the prices are very good. I am definitely going back there whenever I can.

delicious once it opens - Edit
It opens a little late for being a breakfast cafe but worth the wait. There's a lot to see in the area so it wasn't an issue keeping busy while it opened. The service was attentive and the food was amazing. It was my first vegan restaurant in a foreign country so I was excited. Vegamo did not disappoint, I would return.

Amazing desserts but not sure about some of the other menu items - Edit
I have been here several times. Yes the desserts (the pies) are insanely good. i tried the oreo pie, lemon chocolate pie, triple chocolate pie. Best pies i have ever had.
Read morebut the rest of the menu is not executed properly. they try and use fresh ingredients like flaxseed in place of processed flours but the result is tough, hard or dense waffles, omelettes, etc.
lunch burrito: loaded with quinoa. there was come kind of chipotle sauce which was good.
falafel burger : okay. bread was very dry. pattie was okay didn't have much flavor. baked potatoes were okay
hot cakes: dense...greasy
waffle made with flaxseed" dense, greasy. nutella had an odd taste
omelette made with garbanzo beans: dense, not great texture.
pasta pesto was perfect
i love foods made with wholesome fresh ingredients but execution wise some of their dishes are not 100% there yet. i will try the menu one more time and
update my review if necessary.
excellent prices compared to vegan restaurants in Tulum and Playa del carmen

Great place - Edit
We visited VegAmo MX twice in our week in Mexico City. On the first trip we had breakfast, chocolate and banana waffles, apple and cinnamon waffles and chickpea omelette which were all huge and tasty. On the second trip we had lunch two bagels one burger. The pale pink bagels (beetroot, I guess) were so good, so fresh tasting and full of flavour. The also serve some interest drinks smoothies, lemon chia and an amazing cinnamon flavour iced milky (non-dairy) drink that I can't remember the name of but highly recommended. Small clean and quirky place with seating for about 20 and friendly staff.

Quaint, great staff, great food, central. - Edit
Update: the hours are correct as of this week.
Read moreA quaint little restaurant with seating on the ground floor and in a cozy half-loft. This is a very safe area, just off a busy tourist/historical/art area.
Conveniently located a short walk from Place des Artes - so a few blocks from Metro Bellas Artes or Hidalgo (both on Blue line). Contrary to the HC map, it is on the opposite end of the park. Place des Artes faces Av Juarez. Walk west down Juarez towards the other end of the park (away from the Zona Colonial). At the end of the park you will see the Hotel Hilton Reforma across Juarez. Revillagigedo runs south from Juarez along the east side of the Hotel. VegAmo is 3 1/2 blocks from Juarez, on the west side (on your right). VegMo is a beacon on a street filled with boutique hotels (City Express, Hotel Fleming), stores, restaurants and industrial supply shops.
The staff was quite friendly and knowledgeable on both visits. One spoke perfect English and the other about 50%. I mentioned they should make it more clear on the menu that the gluten-free buns and bread were optional. Since I was on my nineth day of hell following a waiter-induced gluten attack, this was quite important to me.
The menu was small but filled with varied comfort food at reasonable prices. The food was wonderful, satisfying and prepared fresh - which takes a bit of time. If you are ravenous, as I was, simply enjoy a raw or baked dessert while you are waiting.
My only cons: the upstairs already draws heat, then you are staring into nine hot lights. I suggest lights that don't give off heat and blind you, and I assume fans are forthcoming.
Keep up the good work. DF needs great veggie meals! :)
p.s. I meant to shoot the restaurant from across the street and add a picture here, and highly recommend the staff does so asap.

Best chilequiles ever - Edit
I am an American and came to visit Mexico city during thanksgiving break. We were so excited to find that this place was so close to our bnb! Vegamo is a super cute place that is all vegan! I had the best chilequiles I've ever had here! The oreo frappe was also very good, it came cold. It doesn't taste like Oreos but kind of has a banana chocolate flavor lol I would recommend this place to any vegans traveling to Mexico city.
