Excellent vegan choices in a small town

Many delicious vegan dishes, we particularly loved:
Veggie soup of the day
Veggie pie
Giant beans with leek
Eggplant salad (which is actually babaganoush)

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Great service, Waiter knowledgeable about veganism

Absolutely incredible unique Greek food with a ton of delicious vegan opions!

We ate here all three nights we were so amazed by the vegetarian and vegan dishes! The prices are great, you get a ton of food, and the service is impeccable. Between three of us over three days we tried every vegetarian & vegan dish and loved them all. The baklava is the best we found in Greece (We tried it everywhere! And pretty sure it's also vegan) The restaurant is super cute and also has outdoor seating. The food is traditional Greek but with many recipes that we never saw anywhere else - tons of vegetables and beans. All vegan dishes are clearly marked on the menu and in English. Lots of meat dishes as well so it's a great place for mixed groups. Would give 6 stars if I could!

Pros: Lots of Vegan options clearly marked on the menu!, Really reasonable prices for everything!, Wonderful friendly service!

Cons: None!

Amazing restaurant

there are not many options in Kalambaka for vegan food. But don't worry. we ate there twice because food was so amazing and delicious. Took the mushroom dish which was a tasty celebration of flavours and textures in a tasty "soup" that I couldn't stop eating. The walnut balls are just amazing. Feels like an upgraded version of falafel. Tomato filled with rice was really good and interesting. And the huge beans were also a great and flavourful. I recommend this restaurant not because I'm vegan and the options in Kalambaka are small. I recommend because the food is amazing and the stuff is friendly and nice. They use only local food and some of the recipes are from the monasteries around meteora. You should go and eat there and try as many options as possible.

Pros: Amazing food, Great service , Many options

Cons: I stayed only one night in Kalambaka😉, Not vegan so only 4 stars possible on happy cow

marked vegan options

It's always nice to see a restaurant with labeled vegan options! We had dinner here and then came back the next day.

We tried most of their dishes, and while I appreciate having so many options, I didn't think the food was particularly tasty. For example, the vegetable balls (which my friends thought were their meatballs and loved them) were too salty for me, and the same was the case with a lot of other dishes - salty or somehow sour.

The filled tomato and pepper dishes were also not so good for me because it was basically the same filling everywhere, just seasoned rice. The best thing was the ratatouille and the potatoes...

The waiter was very polite and nice to us, and offered us food that wasn't labeled as vegan on the menu, but I wasn't sure if he knew what vegan meant, which may have been just a miscommunication because of English...

All in all, it's a nice option, and I would go back, but I don't particulary think it's the tastiest food ever.

Pros: labeled vegan options, quite a lot of options, on the cheap side

Cons: food wasn't that tasty

Vegan options and nice ambiance. I would give 5 stars but not a vegan only restaurant.

Many marked Vegan options

A cute little place with a friendly helpful manager. It’s refreshing in Greece to see so many vegan options marked on the menu. I’m low on money so found it a little expensive but if this isn’t a problem then you will love it & should try as much as possible on the menu!

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Friendly staff, WiFi

Cons: A little expensive

Wholesome Traditional Dishes

Chose this restaurant over the Meteora which has caged birds surrounding the eating area. It was well worth walking 5 minutes down Trikalon Street to Valia Calda. A good range of regional vegan dishes are on offer. As a starter I opted for Walnut Balls with a green salad. It was like walnut flavoured falafel but felt the salad vinegarette dressing was too salty. For the main I loved the taste and texture of the Giant White Beans With Leeks. Very filling. A shame that virtually all the desserts were dairy based - a pear type fruit in syrup being the exception. Good service in a rustic decorated taverna. Thoroughly recommended.

Pros: Good choice of vegan dishes., Traditional dishes from the region.

Cons: Lack of choice for desserts., Labelling of menu not clear for vegan options.

More options than I was expecting, well labeled menu

This restaurant has a great patio and menu full of both vegetarian and vegan options. The service was solid (though we went when they were pretty empty) and the food delicious

Best place in town

We had a very positive experience in this restaurant. Yes, they do serve meat but they also offer 100% vegan dishes. They are well visible marked in the menu. We had three different kinds and all were excellent and extremely good tasting

Pros: Sufficient vegan options, Excellent tast, tasteful interior
