Love this place - Edit
Stopped here for lunch and absolutely loved it. The kimchi toastie was perfect, the coffees tasted great and the prices were decent. I love finding new queer and socialist run places, and Ushi’s did not disappoint. They do events which look great too 🖤

Nice staff, basic food - Edit
We ordered the jasmin rice and tofu with curried spinach, and the mac'n'cheese with sunflower pesto. Sadly was only a little pinch of pesto on the mac'n'cheese - the pesto was delicious and full of flavour, but the mac'n'cheese itself was bland and a little bit cold. The rice with tofu and spinach were good but nothing special. The beverages were delicious, and the staff is super friendly. Didn't order dessert cuz to eat there you pay more than when you take it as take away (didn't understand that because you are already sitting and paying for food and have to pay 50 pennies more to eat cake there? And to take away they have to use a package and it is cheaper?). The only truly delicious stuff was the chick'n dumpling, they were wonderful!

Had the matcha with cherry blossom latte, has made a perfect Sunday ! So many lovely options to choose from ! Think I'm going to order a dessert now ! Everything has been perfect !

Okay at best - Edit
Ordered the staff recommendation and after waiting for quite a while (for a sandwich) they somehow managed to bring back something completely different, which wasn’t very nice. Didn’t seem to particularly care when I told them. But reluctantly gave me a small discount for the inconvenience.

Great cafe - Edit
Nice little cafe with plenty of lunch options at pretty good prices.
Read moreI had the katsu which would have a been a bit better with some vegan and I would have happily paid a couple quid more for it. We had a couple of sides which were both great.
Had a tidy burger with kimchi, spicy and sloppy!
Soup, sandwich, top!

We really enjoyed the nice atmosphere. They offer a wide selection of everything which I would have loved to try. As I wasn’t hungry yet we only had a coffee/matcha, which was lovely. I hope I can come back soon to try more😄

Lunch in gla - we don’t get out much, bit of a treat - Ushis looks good we think, perfect for lunch. World Cycling Champs on literally outside of the restaurant, lots roads closed but all just perfect for us parking 100 metres away. In we go, friendly welcome, cool place, awesome menu and I want to eat everything - I’m hungry after a 25km run in the morning. Great selection of AF beers - Brulo, Donzoko. Then the food - and wow, it’s fantastic. Tempura Mushrooms - light batter, great sriracha mayo. Loaded Chips wi Dhal - omg, it’s heaven. Will bring you to tears in a good way. Tofu Katsu Curry wi Jasmine Rice - we cook a mean version and this is as good as ours. Truly delicious. Chocolate Avocado Cake - Perfect wi oat cream. Walnut Banana Loaf - Homebaked perfection. All this about £43, an absolute bargain. We will be back asap, our favourite place to eat in Gla.

This is a community, not just a cafe! - Edit
This is well worth making the effort to visit if you don't live nearby, the food was delicious, the people who work here are friendly and attentive and the setting is beautiful.
Read moreWe had the special which was chick'n and waffles, a sourdough toastie and a vanilla latte. All were delicious, I usually don't enjoy fake meats but the 'chick'n' was so good!
I'm really looking forward to making visiting here a regular occurrence and attending some events when I move to Glasgow later this summer!
I particularly loved that there was a bookshelf of books to read while you wait / buy! It was joyful to flick through Heartstopper while sipping my coffee at the beautiful wooden window table!
Pros: Fun interior / venue space, Lovely, friendly service, Great coffee and books to read while you wait!
Cons: I wish more people could accidentally discover it, The location is slightly out of the way

Expensive and disappointing - Edit
Cost a lot, some things bland, others tasted weird ( and had that worried it’s real dairy feeling ). The katsu panko bun is the pinnacle it seems, wasn’t available, and I should have gone to Stereo
