amazingly yum

Great vegetarian and vegan options. Based on the anti inflammatory diet of Dr Andrew Weil. I enjoy this place a lot but it is reserved for special occasions as it is pricey.

Over priced and limited options

If you want good vegan food go somewhere else. I’ve been here a few times and I have never been impressed. It’s over priced and the food isn’t that good.

Never disappoints

My favorites here are Veggie burger, Ancient grains, Teriyaki bowl. Good portions.
This is a way better option than flower child and the ancient grains is exactly the same as their Mother Earth bowl but way bigger portions.

Ideal spot for vegan and non vegan friends.

Pros: Veggie patty instead of fake meats , Tasty , Good portions

Feel good food 💚

I was craving a hearty veggie burger while visiting Phoenix and was not disappointed! It was one of the best burgers I’ve ever had-hearty and delicious. Lots of other yummy options on the menu to go with what you’re in the mood for.

Pros: Variety of vegan options, bright, open concept dining , cute patio

Dr. Andrew Weil

If you know who he is then you already know. He also helped create this place. His seasonal food offerings are so good. The thing about this place is- I feel healthier after leaving. The foods are picked for a purpose. Not just to feed you, but to nourish you. To add to your health. The menu tries to keep as “anti inflammatory “ as they can while offering many choices. My personal faves? The TLTA (tempeh, lettuce, tomato, and avocado) sammie, and the sweet potato hash. 😍😍😍😍😍 even when it’s been out of season, they make it for me! Love them, and the good doctor as well!!!

Pros: Healthy yummy food, Lots of options

Cons: A little expensive , Always busy

Thumbs up!

The menu has many vegan options and they are clearly labeled. My recommendations are the vegan burger and the vegan noodles. The juices are also pretty good. Nutrition information is labeled on the menu.

On point

I ordered the spinach and mushroom pizza and an order of charred cauliflower. Both items were delicious! I especially enjoyed the cauliflower it had great taste and I would have ordered two if I had the chance.

Good spot, nice options

It was a nice experience, the mask thing is silly and exhausting. Other than that it was enjoyable, we had our plant based meet up this month in the back room.

Pros: Great vegan options

Cons: The mask nonsense which just won’t go away

Definitely FIVE stars!

While there are meat options on this menu, everything else about True Food is 5 stars for me! I love how the menu is so easily adaptable to fit my needs. My server Stephanie was super helpful in 1. knowing what is vegetarian vs what is not and 2. helping me decide because it all sounded so good! There was honestly so many things I could try - the salads, the bowls, the pizzas! True Food cares about healthy, clean food. That can't be said about a lot of places!!

Love this place!

My son and I are both vegan and many of our family members are not. True Foods has great and delicious options for everybody. And, when we take family, they almost always choose the vegan or vegetarian options because they are awesome! I had the Korean Noodle Bowl today for the first time and it was delicious! I also love the vegan pizza!

Pros: Delicious vegan options and most vegetarian option, Can be made vegan., Great service and atmosphere!

Cons: Pricey, but worth it.

Good vegan options

I had the TLT and liked it very much. Place is very nicely decorated. There were only 4 vegan options but menu changes seasonally so they might have more options other times of the year.

Pros: Clearly marked vegan options, Locally sourced, Great ambiance

Cons: Few vegan options

great experience and food

I've had very bad service and food experiences at this location and other True Foods, but tonight was different! the bartender/server was great, the food was phenomenal and I'm so happy. I come to this location on business trips, I was not looking forward to it, but I needed the vegan food. today turned me around. I will be back.
The seasonal salad was great and the ancient grains (I always get) was perfect, they put all the sauces on the side and cooked little/no oil. It was just how I wanted it.

Pros: Ancient Grains, many options of you ask for no che

Cons: Service usually is not good

So many vegan options!!

Came with my dad who's an omni and we both got to enjoy a nice, fresh meal! For an appetizer we shared the kale guacamole and I think it's safe to say this is the one of the best guacs I've ever tasted! For a main, I ordered the T.L.T sandwich and for desert, my dad and I shared a slice of the vegan key lime pie! I've never had key lime pie before so this was pretty awesome to see that the one on the menu was vegan! Definitely recommend if you're vegan/vegetarian and want to find a place that's great to dine at with an omni or simply want to enjoy some great food!

Pros: vegan options, fast service/kind staff

Solid Vegan Options

I like that True Food Kitchen is steadfast in its offerings of delicious, seasonal, and flavorful vegan options year round.

The Andy's TLT, a vegan version of the American classic BLT, uses Vegenaise and cruelty-free tempeh instead of bacon, is my favorite go-to. The Organic Tuscan Kale Salad, sans the cheese, is delicious.

They've recently added new vegan items, like the Roasted Brussels Sprouts, a Charred Cauliflower dish, and a Beet Bruschetta. So far, I've tried the Brussels Sprouts, which were very good.

As for the desserts, the squash pie (seasonal item, usually available autumn to winter), and the Apple Goji Crisp (basically, an apple cobbler) a la mode, courtesy of a delicious coconut ice cream, are all scrumptious!

This location has messed up my carry-out orders so be sure to double-check your orders before leaving.

Also, contrary to one of the other reviews, please note that this location is in the Biltmore shopping mall complex (not the Scottsdale Quarter; that's a different location).

Pros: delicious vegan options, yummy vegan desserts

Cons: expensive, messes up orders

Great smoothies and soup

Vegan options are awesome here and I love the service!!

The place had a nice modern style to it. The waitress was great! The miso soup was much better than what I have had in the past and it is nice to have a mushroom based one rather than to be disappointed with a fish broth based miso.

Pros: Miso soup!, good serice, modern style

Cons: Moderately Priced $$

True Food Kitchen

The True Food Kitchen menu is based off of Dr. Andrew Weil’s anti-inflammatory diet. Per their website the diet, “isn’t meant to deprive a healthy body of great flavors, it’s meant to take popular trends in cuisine and pair them with healthy living.” Sounds good to me and worth a visit.

There are 2 True Food Kitchen locations in the Phoenix area, both located in upscale shopping areas. We checked out the location at Biltmore Fashion Park. The location is very easy to find as it’s seen from the road. Paid parking that can be easily made free after validating a chip from your dining/purchases is available. In addition, there is a free lot on the opposite side of the shopping park.

I absolutely loved the openness of the restaurant with it’s brightness and open kitchen. There were literally people preparing food several feet from us. They definitely don’t have anything to hide in their kitchen.

Upon quick glance of the menu I found a couple vegan options to choose from and had a tough time deciding between “Andy’s Favorite ‘TLT’” and the “Teriyaki Brown Rice Bowl”. I decided on Andy’s Favorite “TLT” which Tempeh, Lettuce. Tomato. Avocado, Vegenaise, and Whole Grain Bread. I had the choice to pair it with a kale salad or sweet potato hash and went with the hash.

I’d say our experience at True Food Kitchen was unique and I would visit again. Although I must say the prices are a bit steep for the amount of food you receive. I understand it’s healthier food and often that comes with a price tag, but $10 for a basic sandwich is a bit much in my opinion.

Good food!

Went on a sunday evening. This place was very packed and there was a long wait for a table. The service was good, and the food was really good. Many things are overpriced but the TLT (tempeh lettuce tomato) is very tasty and, at $10, is not too bad. Items that seem vegetarian but don't have the "v" next to them have seafood paste in them. Our waitress warned us about that which was helpful. Will definitely go back again sometime!

Worthy Attempt That Misses the Mark

Only five vegan items on the menu. They will "remove the cheese" to make other things vegan but wanting of flavor. They get bonus points for using sustainable, locally grown items. Moderate price. I probably would not return.

Pros: Friendly, Sustainable oriented

Cons: Very limited vegan items., Food was so-so.

True Food Kitchen Scottsdale Quarter

True Food Kitchen is what you would expect from a Sam Fox Scottsdale restaurant. It's clean and hip. It's also exactly what you would expect from a Dr. Andy Weill place. It's healthy with local and organic as much as possible. These two have come together for a great concept.
The menu isn't that large and it's not all vegetarian but it is labeled very nicely with vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options which is really handy. The portion sizes are modest which is a refreshing change from most American restaurants ginormous plates of food. This is a great place to take meat eating friends and family and introduce them to more healthy choices.
For starters, the miso soup is "meatier" than the usual. It has lots of delish mushrooms and tofu. They also have a lot of different daily soups that are vegan a lot of the time, just ask! The shitake mushroom lettuce cups are amazing as well.
For the main course, I like the organic tomato and olive oil pizza (no cheese). I added mushrooms and eggplant to make it a little more exciting and it was wonderful. My fave dish is the spaghetti squash casserole. Just don't be expecting spaghetti noodles because this is a type of squash. There are other main dishes that are vegan as well such as the Teriyaki Brown rice bowl with tofu that is very popular. And vegan sides are sweet potato hash and fresh roasted vegetables where none of them are cooked in butter.
The only vegan desserts are the orange olivello sorbet and the organic chocolate pudding. The sorbet is not so great but the pudding is excellent.
I love that you can get organic wine here as well. I only wish that they had the sulfite free wine.
The best server at the Scottsdale Quarter is Rodney but they are all pretty good. The staff is friendly and attentive. All in all, a great place and I will definitely be coming back!

Pros: great atmosphere, friendly staff, excellent food

Cons: pricey
