Excellent pho and vermicelli bowls. Only a couple non vegan dishes. The hot and sour pho was amazing.

Delicious Vegan Pho and Rolls - Edit
This place is a gem! Most of their menu is vegan so their is lots of options. Vegan pho, rice platters and lots of different types of vegan salad rolls with vegan meat. The tofu in the pho is delicious! We had spicy and regular pho and the vegan ginger chicken and vegan lemongrass chicken salad rolls.

Usually I try to only support fully vegan or vegetarian restaurants, but this place is delicious, and is a good place to go with those friends or family members that think they need meat for every meal. I really enjoyed the Vietnamese coffee!!!

Don’t get me wrong, I love V Cafe. I’ve been eating there for years and is one of my go to places. I realized though that if you were going by how they present themselves you might think everything there is vegan. Heck, it’s not even an all vegetarian place. While they have a huge selection of vegan meats, they do serve real prawns in one dish and real ham and real pork on another. They are pretty good about labeling the menu though and the staff is knowledgeable about what is vegan. My favourite food to get is the vegan ginger chicken banh mi, the vegan Vietnamese salad rolls, and the vegan curry noodle soup. Honorary mentions are the Vermicelli Salad Bowl, and the vegetable daily soup cup is always a good side for something light and tasty.

One of my favourite places! - Edit
V Cafe is one of my favourite places to eat! I love their combos and their range of vegan 'meats'. Their salad rolls are tasty, too. My favourite are the lemongrass chicken and citrus spare-rib. Prices are affordable and good portions. I usually order take out and have always been happy with my food!

Read morePho is good and packed with veggies, tofu, and vegan beef, but didn’t like the “dumplings”. The rice platter is just okay, the vegan meat had a sour taste, and the yams with peanut noodles were very dry. Rice and salad were good. The spring rolls didn’t really taste like anything, and were over cooked.
Both came with strange sauces that I think were sweet and sour sauce for the springs rolls and maybe salad dressing but they had the consistency of water and didn’t taste like anything so didn’t use them.
I’ll try the bahmi next time…

Best vegan bbq “pork” rice wraps! - Edit
Worth the drive to New West as two can eat for under $20. They make the best rice wraps and the peanut dipping sauce is to die for. They also provide free green tea when u dine in. We love this little place and frequent it as often as possible. I wish they would open in Poco.

Vietnamese Restaurant Featuring Vegan Choices - Edit
V Cafe is a restaurant near Douglas College with counter service and a moderate amount of table seating. The menu is primarily vegan with many different faux meat options. I opted for the basic Combo 1 with vegan pho and spring rolls. The pho had a great lemongrass flavor. I will definitely opt for some of the more elaborate dishes next time. I was admiring everyone else’s menu choices.

Went for lunch for a small meal, ended up getting both the vegan lemongrass "chicken" and the spicy noodle soup. It was amazing. definitely need to go back again! If you like spicy soup, I definitely recommend this one. Very spicy and flavourful.

Read moreSecond visit I had Combo 1: the vegan pho and two spring rolls. It was too much food to eat at once. Very very good though! Changed my review from 3 to 4 stars. Would have been 5 except for service - to >5min to bring simple pre-made tea and never came back after dropping off food to check if all was well or to bring my bill.
Note posting says they accept credit cards, but they do not.
Also their receipts don't list their GST number. It's 70305 7679 BC001 for those who need a legal receipt for taxes.

Difficult to find nearby parking, and it's paid parking. Very small amounts of free parking about a 5-10 minute walk away if you search.
Read moreFood was great, I didn't actually realize that it wasn't a fully vegan restaurant, until my friend pointed out they have 2 items that aren't vegan. I don't understand why they actually serve those options, they should really just take them off the menu and be a fully ethical restaurant.

The restaurant is not big, but with the soft music, it is quite relaxing and you will want to stay longer. It was raining that day, ordering a veg pho with a tasty vegetable broth, feeling warm and comfortable! And the Vegan lemon grass chicken salad roll is a must-order, a lot of ingredients inside the rolls, with a big bite, feeling satisfied ~
