Very few vegan options on menu - Edit
We had the chefs tasting menu which could be made vegan thankfully as the actual menu was very limited on vegan options. Staff very polite and attentive.

One of the good vegan food we have in Vienna - Edit
We stopped in Tian bistro for lunch. Lunch menu is not so big for vegans but looked interesting. Pearl barley risotto was delicious as well as pumpkin soup. Our child got amazing dessert. Up to us prices are reasonable for this kind of places.

Goede brunch, redelijk eten - Edit

Pricey, bland food - Edit
I got the asparagus dish and it was literally 4 large spears of grilled asparagus topped with a lemon curd and a few slices of fingerling potatoes. At €18, it was not worth the price. I left still feeling hungry. Maybe their other dishes are better? I’d rather stop in for a coffee and dessert than a meal here.

Very good, healtyh - Edit
Was in Tian with my boyfriend, we had the vegan sharing meal. Although we didn't come very hungry - the food was great, the vibe is cozy and comfortable. Expensive but worth going there on your trip. If you're looking for junkfood it's not the place, it's a healthy place, atleast the vegan options are.

Won’t recommend sharing menu - Edit
For vegan options, found restaurant to be expensive for what it is. Knowing what it takes to develop creative, layered, composed dishes, this was a disappointment.
Read moreOn Sunday, only one outdoor patio is open. Entrance is off of Spillelberg.
Sharing menu-
For appetizers we had a sliced tomato salad and a bean salad (which was the most composed, best dish we had).
Entree was TWO cauliflower dishes. You better hope you like cauliflower! One was a half braised head on mayo. The other was served with mushrooms and bok choy. Sautéed and served with some broth.
Dessert was sorbet. Only one dessert.
We did go back, because we had regretted not doing al a carte. Squash blossoms and Fennel flatbread was basic with bland crust, basic tomato sauce and sautéed veggies. Mushroom soup was simple.
Probably great for vegetarians. Limited for vegans.
Note: their Rose wine is more like a Beaujolais.
Cons: Not a good value, Basic vegan options

Good food, vegan friendly, a bit expensive - Edit
I did the sharing menu with my mother and it was really quite nice. I would give that 5 stars. My stepfather got a burger and also enjoyed it. I came back alone for lunch, took a smoothie, which was nothing special, and the squash blossom plate, which was quite good actually, but i could see it being a bit disappointing for anybody very hungry or looking for good value. The service is for the most part excellent, but a weird thing happened that a menu board left against a wall for no apparent reason fell over and almost took out an older lady sitting at a table. Could have been a disaster for simple lack of attentiveness.

Fresh - Edit
This place loves to use fresh herbs. We had the vegan flatbread, mushroom soup and a salad. All three dishes were nicely done.

Great but not quite 5 stars - Edit
I’ll start by saying that I do really enjoy visiting here and I have returned many times. They have some great food, but there are a few points which stop me from giving it a full 5 stars.
Read moreFirst the good: the flatbreads. The vegan flatbread is really delicious and by far my favourite thing on the menu. The vegan tasting menu is also something fun and different that we’ve done a few times for special occasions, and I would also recommend.
I also really like the covered inner courtyard that’s open during the summer months. It’s nice and airy and a pleasant place to sit and enjoy a meal, particularly in the evening.
However, my main negative comment is that they need to offer more vegan options. Despite being a vegetarian restaurant, I do think that they could have a few more vegan options on the menu to choose from - its not that hard to add a simple vegan burger or something really. Additionally, on the occasions that I’ve tried it, the different courses of tasting menu were very similar and had the same sort of flavours/texture/ingredients, which was a bit disappointing. I’d like to see them get a bit more adventurous. Give me a Party in my mouth!
Also I know it sounds a bit petty, but I think almost every single plate/dish I’ve ever eaten off of here has somehow been chipped. I understand that the odd chip happens, but every plate? They really should invest in some new ones... it’s just the fine details that are missing.
Despite my negative points, I do really recommend people visit here. There aren’t many places like this in Vienna and it’s well worth the trip if you are in the area. I just wish they’d iron out those small critiques so I can give it a full 5 stars!
Pros: Delicious vegan flatbread, Tasting menu is fun and different, Nice covered courtyard in summer
Cons: Would like to see more vegan options, A little more variety in the food please, Somehow, every single plate is chipped?

Not bad - Edit
In general not that many vegan options but they had a Chefs selection with 5 dishes to choose from that could be made vegan. Half of the dishes were great, half were good and partly a bit boring. The mains were one with small beans and mushrooms and the other was some grain with nothing else as far as I remember. Wife had the asparagus which was fantastic though! Awesome room to sit in with the glass roof

Ein Genuss! - Edit

It doesnt look like much from the outside but it is amazing inside. There are many vegan choices and even the wine is labelled vegan. Our waiter was very informative and friendly too. I took my omni Dad there and he was very impressed.

The location was very convenient to where we were staying and the food was decent, but I found the menu limited, especially because I have to restrict the carbs that I eat. The service was good, the atmosphere pleasant.

Great place! Completely vegetarian with vegan options. The dishes are reminiscent of traditional dishes (e.g. Knödel) but they have their own touch. Definitely worth a visit!

amazing flavours my omni hubby loved it too - Edit
We both had the chefs table taster menu. Starter was beautiful bread hazelnut spread roast papers and a beetroot dish all excellent. Mains were a roast caramelized celeriac with pickled apple and black walnuts and a roast and pickled pumpkin dish. Both were full of flavour and evoked thoughts of autumn. Dessert was a mango tapioca I opted out of that and went for a chocolate quinoa (extra) all delicious. Beautiful food, great staff and relaxed atmosphere price, was around€40 pp without wine. Well priced for the seasonal, well thought out flavourful feast. Highly recommend.

Nice but lacked atmosphere at lunchtime - Edit
Visited at lunchtime as it is close to the museums quarter but was slightly disappointed with the number of vegan options on the lunch menu. For example the vegan dessert option was just macerated strawberries which didn't inspire. Having said that I enjoyed the pumpkin soup and vegan flatbread. Portions were bigger than I anticipated.

Exceptional ! - Edit
We've had the five-course chef's tasting menu (the last course was dessert). I understand it changes daily - today everything was spot on. Eggplants with tomatoes, baby courgettes with mustard sauce, baked leeks and potatoes on apple/radish puree (fantastic !), fennel with chanterelles and red currants and for dessert - peaches in syrup with home-made vanilla icecream with a slice of caramelised brioched. All this with two glasses of excellent white wine and two carafes of tap water for a total of 60-odd euros (total for two). Exceptional ! (Not to mention the great service - welcoming, cheerful and helpful !)

Disappointed by Chef's Tasting Menu - Edit
So to be clear this is the "bistro" branch of Tian, which has reasonable prices. We did not try the high-end restaurant as it seemed unaffordable.
Read moreWe just went once and so it may have been an anomaly, but the vegan version of the Chef's tasting menu was underwhelming. In retrospect, we wished we'd ordered a la carte and gotten dishes that we desired.
The first course was a red pepper stuffed with cous-cous. Meh. Then a "smokey" tofu that wasn't smokey at all--just seemed like some raw tofu with a bunch of Bragg's poured on it. There was eggplant with some al dente chickpeas that was OK, and then the final entree was braised fennel. Everything was good but nothing dazzled us. The dessert was really nice.
We saw flatbread pizzas (a la carte) passing us by that had us jealous.
The space is very large and had both indoor and outdoor tables. We get the sense that it's a hit with the vegetarian crowd, but they haven't really mastered vegan yet. We think it's a place that has a lot of potential and are glad it's there!
Pros: Nice space, indoor & outdoor, Attentive service, Centrally located
Cons: Vegan options disappointed

Beautiful food - Edit
After a long day walking around Vienna (and trying a nearby pizza place to find it closed!) this was amazing. Beautiful indoor and outdoor seating (as shown in photos). I had the Raphaello which was absolutely amazing - top notch food for pretty average prices. So much to choose from vegan-wise too. The staff were really enthusiastic to show me all the vegan options. It also took about 3 minutes to come after I ordered!

Eko, wegetariańskie i wegańskie, świetnie zrobione. Jem białą polentę z kokosem i shitake, prawie jak deser. Piękne i idealnie złożone. Obsługa zasługuje na napiwki ;) Ceny wyższe, ale nadal do przyjęcia. Piękne podwórze, przytulnie, zacisznie, ciepło, miło, sprawnie.

5 course vegan tasting menu rocks - Edit
The menu is mainly veggie with limited vegan options. The staff were very patient as I asked lots of questions about the menu, it was only then that I discovered the garden dish was actually a 5 course vegan tasting menu. A minimum of 2 persons, 21 euro each. Great food and amazing value, save room for the desert. The decor is a bit rough and ready and we had to ask for tap water three times.
