So much to love! We’ve ordered boxes online and bought in stores. By far the best vegan “meats” available! Love that it’s local! We love everything from the Beast to the taco stuffers! More expensive but worth it because even the carnivores are happy!

Visited this restaurant with non vegans and everyone enjoyed their meal. We ordered the Bratwurst, Hot Dog (added sauerkraut), Poutine and the Philly Cheesesteak. Everything tasted amazing and the service was super friendly and welcoming. We found the prices to be reasonable.

This was our first time here. We ordered a burger, sandwich, or hot dog each, with poutine. This was way too much food, none of us were able to finish it all. I think the poutine was meant more as a meal than a side. Everything we ordered was delicious, and there were lots of choices.

I tried Very Good Butchers pepperoni, BBQ Ribz and Philly Cheeze Steak. They were all very good. The pepperoni had nice flavors, I tasted anise seeds which felt right for pepperoni and it had a pleasant chewy texture. The ribz were pretty tasty but a bit as well though a bit bland for me. The Philly Cheeze Steak was tasty. It was served on a french roll with mushrooms, peppers and faux beef and it would satisfy any cravings one might have for a meaty sandwich.

Read moreI'm not a big burger person and I don't like things that taste really meaty (luckily their patties don't). If you're looking for more of a mock meat, go for the beyond meat burgers.
My favorite has been the smoking burger- delicious! I'm surprised how much I liked it. And the nacho fries are incredible and with a really generous portion size.
The mac and cheese was so-so for me. Good taste but kind of hard to eat with full size pretzels in there.
My bf ordered the big mac recently and we both werent happy with the taste of the patty they used. To me it had a strange artificial taste; to him it had a moldy taste (don't believe it was actually mold, just bad taste). So be careful what burger you order.
The Cascadia burger has also been good in the past.

I regularly buy their “meat” products in my local stores. While visiting Victoria I stopped by to stock up, and tried their poutine. It tasted as good or better than traditional poutine I have had in the past. Delicious, rich and decadent.

Hubby (not vegan) insisted we try here. We have bought their products for use at home, but in-house was just fabulous. We had the BBQ special-ribs and chicken with poutine, onion rings, Caesar salad and fries. Stuffed! But soooooo good! I’d love to go back and try more but we’re only here for the day 😢

Hearty, delicious, animal-free meals and take-home food - Edit
Very good charcuterie box: I’ve reviewed VGB's on-site food in years past, but during the recent lockdown I ordered (for pickup) their Deluxe Charcuterie Box, which includes several of their meats as well as two of The Cultured Nut’s cheeses. (July 2020: this box is not currently available. Too bad. I liked the combination of meats and cheeses.) My order was ready for pickup sooner than expected. I thawed one item at a time from the freezer, and the Box lasted me many weeks. I especially enjoyed the Ribz. The Pepperoni was good on pizza and in a sandwich. The Smokin’ Bangers have a nice nip to them - once they were warmed in a lightly oiled pan, I enjoyed them in a sausage sandwich as well as chopped into a (tofu) scramble. I might have preferred the Bacon to come thinly sliced, but it tasted good with my breakfast. My least favourite item was the Deli Fowl, but it was still good in a sandwich with mayo and lettuce. Both soft cheeses from The Cultured Nut were good (and their butter is every bit as good as non-local Miyoko’s). I’m glad to see VGB’s products appearing in local (Victoria BC) grocery stores and at Zero Waste Emporium.

"We butcher beans." I was eager to try a burger by VG Butchers, and it didn't disappoint! I had the delicious Smokin' Burger, which has chopped avocado, red pepper, spinach leaves and cheeze-topped patty on a good bun. Loved it! I've brought home a package of their Very Good burger patties. I'll be back as soon as possible to try their Reuben sandwich and hot dog.
We're very lucky in Victoria to have a vegan outlet like this. Perfect location right inside the front door of the Market. [later edit: now further inside the Market, in a larger space]

Love their products to go, as well as the hot items - the BBQ plate with chik’n is a great way to try a couple sides too- the Mac and cheese is great. Unfortunately the quality can be pretty hit and miss, so don’t write it off if you have a bad experience?

We ordered the poutine, pickle Rick burger, and the eggs benny. The food was fantastic and very quick to be delivered. The poutine was out of this world delicious!!!! Both the Benny and burger were excellent as well. 100% recommend!

This place...! I wish I lived in Victoria and could come there every day to enjoy their comfort food. I visited only twice, I had a burger and poutine. Both were super delicious (maybe except the Daiya cheese on the poutine), obviously from quality ingredients, and portions huge, I hardly finished them. I did not try anything from their cold counter but all looked so yummy! I home to come back to try more.

Best American style food in all of Victoria. I take everyone I know to this place. I have ordered many of the deli meats from the butcher and all of my selections have been outstanding. I especially like the vegan pepperoni. I personally think the meat here is way better than beyond meat products and I really love beyond meat so that says something.
