Yummy and enjoyable first meal in Amsterdam - Edit
We ordered the tofu coconut dish and bangain bharta (eggplant) (sorry for misspelling) dishes as mains and onion bhaji and curry naan as sides/starters. Everything was delicious with the right amount of heat. The naan wasn’t great (little bit dry). Service was very friendly.

Never again - Edit
We arrived at the restaurant at 4pm and were told to come back at 4:15pm because they were needed more time to prepare the kitchen. As we returned we placed our order and waited exactly one hour until the menu was served (exluding starters). The small sized drinks are 200ml and cost 3€. The menu said that they have vegan ice cream available but it turned out to be just a popsicle (for 4€). The food itself tasted fine. But we think it was too pricey (58€ for two persons).

Delicious meal in an overly touristy area - Edit
So first of all, this website refers to a seperate vegan menu of an otherwise ‘regular’ Indian restaurant called Bollywood. This is a slightly confusing construction. I was apprehensive about the restaurant since it’s located between all of the tourist traps just behind Leidseplein. However, the food was absolutely amazing. It was affordable and they had an abundance of vegan options. I definitely recommend the mushroom bahjee curry. The vegan naan is dry and lacks taste, however. As they serve a lot of amazing rice with any curry, I would stick with that as a side.

Actually called Bollywood - Edit
This restaurant is not vegan, however they have an entire vegan menu available. They understand the difference between vegetarian and vegan but you need to ask for the "Vegan Currys" menu instead of their menu because they have only vegetarian items identified with a green "V" symbol.
Read moreWe ordered their vegan Tikka Masala and Saag Panir. They replace the typical paneer with tofu and the spice level is legit! Def ask for light (or no) spice if you are sensitive. We also got their Roto, it was pretty good but a little dry.
Overall my husband says it's the best Indian food he's ever had, and I give it top 90%. His Tikka Masala was less creamy than I have had in typical commercialized places.
The service was great and the options were ample. We definitely recommend!!!
Pros: Tons of options! Ask for the vegan menu!
Cons: Spicy unless you specify, roti is a little dry
