Great food, good price. - Edit
I opted for the Vietnamese combo meal which had a crunchy veg salad, a seaweed and bean soup and vegetable-stuffed tofu in a thick slightly spicy gravy with rice. The food was tasty and dishes went well together. Portion sizes were restrained so you could enjoy the full set. Really enjoyed it and will go back.

Delivery and it was awesome!! - Edit
Did a long day to Ha Long Bay, and didn’t want to go out once we got to the hotel.
Read moreFound the Veg on here, and saw they did delivery.
It was fantastic. It was super easy to order, and they came even sooner then they said they would.
We had pad Thai, tofu in chilies and garlic (amazing), tofu and peanut butter sauce (wouldn’t order again) and the mango chai pudding.
Fantastic. Definitely worth trying, and great for delivery!!

Varied Reviews for Various Dishes - Edit
Writing this review makes me sad because I like The Veg, but the inconsistent quality between dishes is too much for my tastes. After finding this to be one of the best rated vegan spots in Hanoi, it was my first stop. The first time I was mostly pleased, but the second time proved a bit more challenging.
Read moreThe space is great, with a tiny outdoor street-facing balcony with two mini tables for two, and several more tables just inside of there.
I'll breakdown my reviews per item tried:
Greek Chickpeas with Toast: sweet, which I found a bit offensive to my palate and didn't make sense within my expectation of Greek food. This dish felt way more Asian then Greek and the titling seems a bit questionable. I feel like this dish might be enjoyed by those who like foods with this flavor profile, but expecting Greek flavor this was a let-down.
Pho Hanoi Vegan: this dish was quite large and featured some great ingredients. Only problem is it was bland. The broth was nearly flavorless. After adding all the herbs to it, it gained a better profile, but still needed help. Strange that it isn't served with a side of spicy sauce like I've seen with so many Vietnamese pho's.
Avocado and Kale Salad: this was hands-down the worst dish at the restaurant. The avocado was not ripe, the pineapple was dry, and the kale was yellowish and unappetizing. Without a single ingredient that shone, this was definitely the worst kale salad I've ever had anywhere.
Lentil & Red Bean in Mushroom Gravy with Potato Mash: this dish was incredible. Everything was perfectly cooked- the flavors were delicious, the mashed potatoes were phenomenal. It is my favorite meal at this restaurant. I'd prefer a slight reduction in saltiness, but it's the one to choose.
CaramelIzed Spinach Pizza: I ordered it without cheese as I am vegan and so my review will be for that one. The pizza was sweet- the caramelized onions must have been caramelized using sugar which did not work for me. The pesto was below the caramelized onions, which cover the entire crust. It was nearly impossible to taste and in my opinion should be moved to the top of the pizza, assuming it is good and provides the pesto kick that it should. The tomatoes on top should be swapped for tomato sauce on the crust- this is supposed to be pizza after all! The crust was quite disappointing as well- more of a pita than a pizza crust. It is served with two side sauces which are both mildly spicy but also sweet.

Lovely Cafe - Edit
Dishes here are both local and western and the dishes served are some of the best I have found in Hanoi. Quality food at decent prices. Try the salads or the soup and the juices are great too. Healthy and delicious. I came here a couple of times during my short stay in Hanoi. Particularly appreciate that whilst they are not completely vegan, vegan dishes are marked so you don't have to ask or adapt anything.
Read morePros: Lots of vegan options which are clearly marked , Cute and cosy place, Great food

I had a delicious pad thai and mango juice. I especially enjoyed the mango juice that clearly didn't have any added sugar.
Read morePrices are a little high, but given that all food is organic I can live with it.
Food tastes really great and portions are so big it's hard to finish.
I hope very much to come back, so I can sample some more of their delicious food.
Edit: I can very much recommend taking a seat upstairs to avoid the hassle of sitting in the street.
Pros: Organic (if that's your thing)
Cons: Somewhat expensive due to being organic

Read moreFood here was absolutely delicious. The best meal we’ve had in a while. We had a scrumptious avocado, walnut and kale salad with kumquat dressing, a delicious hotpot of mushrooms and tofu with tamarind and lemongrass and a little chilli, and a Pho that was fresh and tasty – all for 235,000VND. Service was good and staff understood and spoke English. Highly recommended. Most of the menu is vegan (clearly marked) but there are a small number of dishes with eggs or milk.

Best veggie restaurant in Old Quarter - Edit
Myself and partner spend 8 days in Hanoi. Both veggies and found eating slightly challenging so went to mainly specific veg restaurants and this was our favourite by far. Lovely staff, nice modern atmosphere but with balcony to look into street. Food was so delicious - especially the stuffed tofu!

I Nice place to go to for a nicer dinner in Hanoi. Lots of vegan dishes. Loved the fresh springrolls. Friendly staff. Talked to the owner who said that she goes to all the farms to make sure everything is truly organic. Meal for around 100.000dong.

Two different opinions on this one as the Thai Green Curry was excellent but the "Kale Salad" had no kale but lettuce instead also no walnuts or sunflower seeds (which were on the menu). $US12 for two mains and two drinks.

Amongst the best - Edit
A wonderful little restaurant tucked away amongst the central craziness of Hoen Kiem.
Read moreA lovely building with a clean and cosy feel with a charming narrow winding staircase , lovely staff and the food was incredibly tasty. I ordered the Vietnamese combo which had a fresh and fragrant banana salad, rice, a deliciously savoury seaweed soup and slabs of juicy veg-stuffed tofu, cooked to perfection. I also had a fresh watermelon juice with it. Everything just tasted healthy, home-cooked and fresh.
So much of vegan food particularly in the west attempts to pander to substitute junk foods with fake meats and cheeses. Here the focus appears to be on fresh plant based ingredients and good cooking. With satisfying portion sizes at a very reasonable price.
All the food I've eaten so far in Hanoi has been good. This has been the best so far.
Check it out and support! The world needs more people like the Veg doing what they're doing.
Pros: Delicious healthy food, friendly helpful staff, cozy environment

Fantastic fresh food cafe - Edit
Cute little spot in the old town with friendly staff. The black bean chia sandwich was beautiful, as was the zucchini kofta (even though it was really mushy). I never thought I'd like fruit spring rolls but these were typical fresh spring rolls with noodles, lettuce, carrot and avocado with just a bit of pineapple, which were very refreshing. The sweet potato fries are baked, not fried, which is great but they are dry and hard to eat (needs a sauce on the side). Highly recommend coming here.

This is a great little restaurant tucked away in Hanoi's Old Town. The menu is simple, but includes a range of Vietnamese and more 'western' style cuisine. All items suitable for vegans are labeled. The staff speak great English and I'm sure would be accommodating if you asked for meals without egg.
