All vegan - Edit
First visit, I chose the Sri Lankan curry bowl. Very tasty, served with rice and shredded carrot. The sticky ginger cake is more dense than the dessert I’m used to. I want to try the breakfast burrito. The breakfast/brunch menu goes till 2 pm. There’s a lunch deal, where you get a smaller portion of the mains for under 10 pounds. Lots of seating upstairs, besides the tables on the ground floor. I'll try to eat here again soon.

Great space&food - Edit
I think they sell themselves short going by Veg Box Cafe. People may not be aware about a lovely space upstairs which is a proper restaurant. The menu is also a full restaurant menu. The difference you see at places that understand plant-based eating.. Dishes are well balanced and absolutely delicious.

came for breakfast - Edit
Coming into this place right when we landed in London, it was a beautiful vibe. We sat down in the upstairs area with gorgeous interior decoration and waited for our food. The plates ‘veggies sunrise’ and ‘frittata’ looked stunning when they arrived but the flavors weren’t equally as stunning. Don’t get me wrong, I did enjoy my food but I’m also okay with lots of pepper (on the mushrooms) and spice (the beans were a lil spicy) and I can see how that could be off putting to some taste buds since it’s not advertised. I love me some spice but I think restaurants should be wary of the fact that there’s people whose bodies are quite sensitive to that, so it shouldn’t be assumed that even mild levels of spice are okay. The aioli was great, I liked the sausage and the frittata although not too flavorful; the tofu scramble was very average and the potato fritters were sooo dry and also cold. You gotta fry that again or just freshly when ordered.
Read moreAll in all - there’s some from for improvement but I also enjoyed it, so I would come back to try other dishes since it’s so highly reviewed.

Lovely staff - Edit
The place is gorgeous and the staff is really friendly, but the food was really underwhelming to put it nicely. Between the frittata and the veggie sunrise breakfast, I preferred the veggie sunrise. Both plates were beautiful, but the mushrooms had so much black pepper it made me cough and the hash brown triangle was not at all crispy or delicious. Some things lacked salt while others were over seasoned and not in a balanced way. The staff took the sourdough bread off my meal without consulting with me first because they were afraid of an allergen, but after I approved it several times, they continued to ‘verify’ in a way that went from what at first I took as really cautious and great customer care to now overdoing it and not communicating with each other or lack of trust. I did get the bread in the end, but the food was cold by then.

Amazing breakfast - Edit
Absolutely lovely place for vegan breakfast in central London. The upstairs is beautiful, very comfy to sit and chat. Great and diverse choices as well. The staff was super friendly - we had to exceptionally wait a while for our food (which they told us in advance) but we got free drinks during the wait!

Tasty food, great location - Edit
Restaurant is conveniently located just near Baker Street station which works perfectly for me when meeting friends. Food was fresh and very tasty, based on fresh ingredients rather then processed supplements, I really liked that! Their collection of fermented products is remarkable. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Definitely a place to go.:)

Friendly staff and tasty food near Marylebone station - Edit
In urgent need of some good food and a solid wifi connection waiting for a train at Marylebone Station, I discovered this recently opened plant-based cafe a couple of blocks away.
Read moreOn my arrival, all of the staff were friendly, attentive, and helpful. The decor and overall ambiance of the cafe was clean, calming, and modern.
Almost everything on the menu was home made, and the prices were reasonable for central London. I ordered the smoked beans on sourdough toast, with breakfast sausages (not home made), and a matcha latte with oat milk. Everything was delicious and tastefully presented.
There are a daily selection of vegan cakes and desserts, so I took the opportunity to try the sticky ginger cake. I had to restrain myself from going back for a second slice.
The one criticism I have is that the Veg Box Cafe is not vegan, simply because they insist on keeping cow's milk on hand in case of curious malzoans wanting a coffee there. I spoke to the owner about it and, while I understand the logic of wanting to be open to all, it seems like a pointless own goal to undermine one's ethical credibility, just to pander to a presumably fractional proportion of potential customers. On that basis, I recommend the Veg Box Cafe, with reservations, to vegans who are looking for quality food and a pleasant location in the Marylebone area.
Pros: Very friendly staff, Tasty food, Clean and charming cafe
Cons: Cow's Milk option

Yay a London branch - Edit
I went to the veg box cafe twice in a week and absolutely loved it. There’s a lot of choice on the menu so I found it hard to choose and actually just went with a buddah bowl both times as the salads were different on my second visit. My friend had the lasagne, with salad and potato wedges and loved it..and my mum went with the fritter (onion bhaji) which she really enjoyed. The decor is so pretty and the upstairs space is really big and bright with huge windows. The staff are all really lovely and friendly, and I can’t wait to go back.

Delicious gluten free vegan food from a passionate team - Edit
My friend and I came here for lunch. We are both vegan, and I'm gluten-free too. This place looked perfect for us. And it was! The staff gave us a fun and warm welcome. We were taken upstairs into this room with great decor and views of the London streets below. My friend had the full English and I had the veg box frittata. We both made a lot of appreciative noises whilst eating and were sad we couldn't eat it all. The coffee was as good as the guy said it was. The staff team seemed to enjoy their work and the atmosphere was comfy. Two very happy, very full customers.

Healthy vegan food with a great taste - Edit
By far the best vegan restaurant that we've tried so far in London! We really appreciated that the staff took their time to explain us more about the different dishes of the day and we were so satisfied with our choices: jacket potato with beans, the daal and the moussaka, everything served with a fresh and delicious selection of sides. A tasty and healthy choice for Vegans in London.

Really nice! - Edit
None of the menu is marked vegan, but upon asking I was told it’s all vegan except for cows’ milk which is an option for coffee. The range is great - fairly healthy, large portions and a good variety of meals. I had a smoothie bowl and it was very large and very nice. Reasonably priced for the location too (£10). The only thing that was a little odd was that I was the only one there at 1pm on a Sunday!

Fresh & fermented plant-based dishes - Edit
We really enjoyed our dinner at The Plant Box - we both chose fritters of the day with salads which was a tapas/bowl type dish with lots of different tastes and textures to try, and a choice of toppings (kimchi, pickled gherkins, aioli etc). They are clearly serious about fermented foods - I had home made kombucha which was delicious. And a gooey beetroot brownie for dessert! Right opposite Baker Street station, open til 9pm and - if you can grab the table - a great view from the huge window overlooking Marylebone Road!

Yummy vegan brunch in a lovely restaurant with fabulous staff - Edit
Went for brunch on 16/11/2023. A delightful new plant-based cafe in a great location near Baker Street and Marylebone stations. The staff were so friendly, kind and helpful - they went above and beyond for us. We both had the full vegan, and it was so tasty! Very filling with a really nice mixture of flavours. I don't usually like beans but their smokey beans were yummy! It's a really nice decor too - all new, fresh and with a lovely inviting atmosphere. Hoping to go back soon to try more of the menu! We also got a piece of ginger cake and millionaire's shortbread to takeaway and they were delish!
