Just Gorgeous - Edit
The Red Fern’s menu is so original and so tempting, that it’s hard to know where to start! I went with the baked Mac & Cheese, and it didn’t disappoint! Whatever you choose, though, you’ll have a fabulous meal! Incredible care is taken with every aspect of the food, and that comes through in their flavors. Amazing bakery case, too!

Casual cute place in great part of town - Edit
They let me make a last-minute reservation, and I was delighted to visit after a long day of travel with an omni family member. Glad for an all-vegan spot that offers wine and beer. I was ready for a refreshing glass of Chardonnay by then, lol. My spouse loved his local dish based on Rochester's Garbage Plate, a good way to try a bunch of things. I had the wonderful strawberry salad and added tofu, very tasty. Our nephew loved his grilled cheese and chocolate mint cake. Would love to come back.

Amazing food and staff - Edit
Was very happy to find a vegan restaurant in our area. The staff was great and very helpful with also recommending gluten free options for my wife as she has celiacs. It’s not easy to find a place that can accommodate dietary restrictions, but this place is the best!

Good food - Edit
I go once a month and s add although I previously had ordering hiccups, I figured out how to work the system to avoid waiting. I appreciate that they try different types of food and to make them plant based. I like that they give back. The employees are always nice.
Read moreThe food is generally good but every visit I’m always waiting for my order and this last one, where my order time was 1,15 hours for preparation and then upon arrival still another 25 to 30 minutes of waiting. it is just not worth it all the time.

Tasty food and treats - Edit
This is one of my favorite places to eat in Rochester. I usually get the compost plate but have been known to get a few other dishes. My teen son likes the wraps and sandwiches, my toddler likes the macaroni salad (minus the celery) and the potatoes. They both love all of the baked goods!

We love Red Fern so much we sing their answering machine song spontaneously (Beach Boys - Vegetables). A plus to everything. Love the Compost Plate, Buddha Bowl, Lentil Burger, Lentil Loaf, Green Smoothies, and endless desserts. Plus they have really interesting and delicious specials, and hosted a great Valentine's Day Dinner last year. In love.

Fantastic Vegan Food - Edit
On a college tour with our daughter, the tour guide recommended this amazing 100% vegan spot in Rochester. Enjoyed macaroni & cheese loaded nachos, Moroccan stew, and a brownie. Plus on tap kombucha. Service was excellent. Made a reservation via Instagram and was glad we did, as seating is relatively limited.

Great Little Place with great desserts - Edit
I had the compost platter which allowed me for a taste of the potato and macaroni salads, sweet potato mash, salad, sliced 'steak', It was good. The mash was cold, but I am not sure if they meant it to be that way. My gf ordered the chickpea wrap and it was good.
Read moreWe also ordered the cheesecake- delicious. We took home over a $100 dollars of various desserts. We have not tasted them all as of yet, but the two we have tasted are delicious. The spice frosted cake and the French toast cookie sandwich was very good.
I certainly recommend this place to anyone.
Pros: all vegan, desserts, broad menu
Cons: cold mash

Worth the hype. 100%. - Edit
Red Fern is such an important place to me. I first went here at the start of my vegan journey so many years ago and I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve been since. I love this beautiful little spot so much. Cue dramatics… I would marry the Steak and Potatoes dish. My favorite meal ever. We know the staff by name and vice versa and I always feel so welcomed. Weekly specials, desserts, wingz Wednesday’s all a plus as well.

Excellent Lunch Options - Edit
Had lunch here while visiting town - split the Buddha bowl and nachos between two of us, both were great. Turmeric kombucha on tap was also tasty. Waitstaff was really friendly and welcoming. Central location was really walkable between the other sightseeing we were doing.

Went there with friends last night for the first time. It is in a great area, there are a lot of options, and the food is great. I had the steak and potatoes, which was incredibly flavorful, with their own horseradish that was not too overpowering. The desserts are great. Really nice place for a dinner with friends or a date.

A must! - Edit
I’m always sure to have a meal at the Red Fern when I’m visiting Rochester. It’s exciting to see what the wing Wednesday flavors will be, I can’t not order the Mac n Chz nachos, and I can never decide between the roast bf bc I’m obsessed with horseradish mayo, or the ABLT bc it’s so yummy and I really love their bacon. Also, the ckn on the ckn Caesar is excellent. Basically everything is great here and I love it!
