Cute spot, great eats! - Edit
Tried lots of their menu this past week. REALLY enjoyed it! So much of what they serve is made in house, which is wonderful. Their kombucha flavors are amazing!!

Delicious burgers - Edit
I usually visit Wilmington a couple times a year, and I am overjoyed to find that there are FINALLY some vegan restaurants sprouting up! We got takeout from here and everything was delicious. Steakhouse burger and pimento burger, spring rolls, fries, pasta salad, all top notch. Definitely not a “healthy” spot, but the flavors are awesome. Also couldn’t resist some baked treats from the counter while we were picking up the order. The brownie is decadent and the cookies are soft and delicious. Didn’t try the kombucha, but it looks like a great variety and made in-house.

We still rave about the fermented fries - Edit
I was excited to try Panacea. We tried a little of everything. For whatever reason we were hooked on the fermented fries! We regretted not getting a double order. Hopefully they’re still offered next time we make it to town.

I want to go back! - Edit
Such fun and happy vibes at this place! We walked in real quickly just to let them know we were there before heading to the patio. Great outdoor seating! They had this cute old-timey kombucha van parked. Just fun. I ended up getting the only hard kombucha they had that day, lavender hops. My husband got a cherry sour beer. Daughter got lemonade, and my friend got a blue spirulina cocktail called Mermaid or something. The drinks all looked stunning when they arrived! So many colors! My kombucha was so good! I ordered the Mediterranean gyro to eat, and it was a life changing experience. I haven’t had a gyro in more than 6 years. More places should figure out how to make a veg gyro. But it would be hard to beat this place. Yum! I also lovvved their fermented fries and beetroot ketchup! Though my 7 year old didn’t care for the ketchup- more for me! Anyway, you should go. You won’t regret it! I’m about to go back to NC just so I can go again lol

Amazing! - Edit
We had the cauliflower (Buffalo). It was crisp and delicious. They were perfectly sauced so the crispness sustained throughout. In addition, we had the vegetable spring rolls. They were very long which is nice for a change. They provided 2 dipping sauces that complimented them nicely. Last and more impressive was the chili cheese fries. These blew me away. They were handcut fries with a harty chili, scallions and vegan cheese. They also provided a dipping sauce. If I'm back in Wilmington, I'm going there for those fries. 🤤

EXCELLENT food - service not that good - Edit
Amazing place and food. Our waitress was fantastic. Walked us through the specials. Was able to answer what her favorite dishes were and why. We ordered 2 orders of the cauliflower wings because they were so amazingly good. All of our meals (gyro, Rueben, and trash burger) were just as wonderful and delicious.
Read moreOur only complaint - the other wait staff/employees were rude and ignored everyone. We stood at the checkout and none of the 5 people that worked there that walked by acknowledged me. When we asked someone that was walking by a question about the drinks, she acted like we were bothering her.
We recommend the restaurant because of the food but the wait staff could get a little more training on how to treat their customers.
Pros: All vegan menu, Lots of dessert choices, Many GF items
Cons: Staff was rude, Staff ignored their customers

Come for the Vegan Brunch! - Edit
One of the only restaurants in ILM that’s completely vegan! Brunch is the best thing to come here for esp since I haven’t found another good spot in town with vegan breakfast entrees. The regular lunch/dinner menu is OK! The specials are always the better option I have found. I love when it’s nice out and they have outdoor seating & live music😄

Run don’t walk to their vegan brunch - Edit
I’ve had brunch here 3x and dinner once. The dinner was fabulous (especially the pierogies), but their brunch is really good. It’s what a vegan would order in a traditional diner if we had the chance. Our brunch server twice was Sean and he’s the best. Large outdoor space if you are more comfortable dining outside. I can’t say enough good things about this place.

Just Okay - Edit
I've been a longtime vegan and had exceptional vegan food. I appreciate that this place is vegan, but the food really just wasn't that great. I ordered the Nashville HOT Fried Cauliflower, which was good, but the Peach Bourbon BBQ pulled Jackfruit was mediocre. There's a right and a wrong way to prepare jackfruit to make it more flavorful. This was the wrong way. The presentation of this dish was sloppy and could have been better put together. I also ordered their tiny slice of vegan cheesecake. Expecting it to be about $4, I was surprised when my bill said $8. Wow was this overpriced. What was worse is that it was terrible. It tasted like ground up cashews. If you're looking for good vegan cheesecake, this is not the place. Also the lady that took my order was curt and seemed irritated when I asked basic questions about the menu.

Hi, Dave. We’re so happy you enjoyed our Nashville HOT Cauliflower, although we wish we wowed you with our Peach Bourbon Jackfruit as well. We do utilize cashews in our vegan cheesecake, as it is a great dairy-free alternative. Cashews are a more expensive ingredient, which is why the cost of a single slice of cheesecake is of that price. We’re so sorry you did not have an amazing experience with us. Please reach out to us via our website, as we would love to resolve this issue!

Great food and service! - Edit
We grabbed some take out this weekend. There was a slight mix up with the food, but they had amazing customer service and handled it so well. We even went back the next day to try out the brunch! The food was great and they have a nice outdoor patio space with live music for those who are wishing to dine in but be more covid safe. Awesome kombucha too, if you’re into that!

A Road Trip to Flavor Town - Edit
A recent trip to the Wilmington area introduced me to this great restaurant first for a meet up over Sunday Brunch, which ended up being so good we came back later for a second taste. My choice for brunch was the tofu "chorizo" breakfast burrito, which came with a side of pico and vegan sour cream. While it was all very tasty, it was admittedly something I have made at home myself with the same results. The stuffed French toast, however, knocked it out of the park. They were extremely flavorful, and light and filling all at the same time. It was no surprise why the place was packed for brunch (45min wait).
Read moreLater that night we returned for dinner, with better results for my meal. The Nashville hot cauliflower sandwich had a great mix of heat and sweet, complemented nicely by the addon creamy slaw. The chili cheese fries were equally impressive in terms of blend of flavors, with a nice meat-like flavor for the chili and a tasty blend of cheese and scallions with the side sauce. I saved the side sauce for my side of fries with my meal, which paid off. The fries themselves were a bit skinny and overcooked in the appetizer, but were perfect with the entree. Despite how full I was, I opted to get the chocolate chip brownie for dessert. Had I not known it was vegan, I would have assumed the chocolatey goodness the waitress gave me was a mistake, but nope, 100% vegan and 10000% delicious.
Overall, everything i had the opportunity to try was excellent. Brunch really stole the show with the French toast, with the Nashville hot sandwich a close second.
Pros: Options!!!!, Flavorful, Good pricing
Cons: Service was slow even when they weren't busy

True Gem - Edit
I was in town visiting, and this place was on my "must try" list. Brunch was so delicious we went back (the same day) for dinner. Everything is 100% vegan, and they offer tons of options. For Brunch, we had a 45 minute wait, but well worth it. I got the stuffed French toast and it was nothing short of amazing. They had live music playing on the outdoor patio, which added a nice touch. For dinner I had the Nashville hot cauliflower which was crispy and delicious. We also tried their spring rolls and chili cheese fries appetizers, which were also delicious. Their Kumbacha is house made and very tasty as well. Next time I am in town, I am definitely stopping here again.

The best in Wilmington - Edit
I’ve been waiting for a fully vegan restaurant, and so thankful for Panacea! Their menu is all vegan and a large selection of delicious foods to choose from. Everything is fresh, house-made and packed with flavor! The staff and owners are an absolute delight and so helpful. We brought of friend who isn’t vegan. She was so blown-away by the food that she’s open to having more vegan food her in lifestyle. This place is great for everyone!
