Serves meat, vegan options available. Deli and health shop serving some vegan sandwiches. Also sells vegan products in the store. Open Mon 09:00-17:00, Fri-Sat 08:30-17:00, Sun 10:00-18:00.
We stopped in hoping for some vegan and gluten free picnic supplies. We only found sausage rolls, some jam, and a jar of tomato fennel pesto. No vegan cheese, no gluten free bread. We wound up going around the corner to Sainsbury’s to buy what we needed.
Dropped by for a quick snack and found a very good selection of vegan options. We had two sandwiches one of which was toasted and a vegan sausage roll. The food was excellent and the staff were lovely and friendly
A cold miserable day so delighted to find such a warm welcome here. Interesting vegan choices I’ve not encountered before. Peanut butter, mango chutney, avocado and red onion with spinach, sounds weird but was the best sandwich I’ve had in a long time. Good coffee too
A warm, vibrant space with super friendly staff and excellent vegan choices of freshly prepared salads and sandwiches. I especially enjoyed my vegan roll
In a town where the idea of veganism is so muted, it is a delight to have visited a business that in amongst its range of non-vegan produce has such a wide range of vegan products to buy such as pasta sauces chutneys, even beers!!! then, of course, there are the olives and vegan sausage rolls and although they do not stock vegan cheeses I fully appreciate the reasons why they don't. I also visited their cafe and loved the range of freshly made salads and let's not forget that they have a range of vegan sandwiches available all very imaginatively made using fresh ingredients. Whilst vegan cakes are not always available I was lucky on this occasion to have a very tasty vegan carrot cake. These are meat-eating owners, who clearly love food and appreciate that good food doesn't have to be made using meat and that it's possible to produce foods that are freshly made and not processed in the way so many of the vegan foods I've come across in many other places.
Such a great little shop with really interesting local products I haven’t seen anywhere else. Reasonably priced and excellent quality. Really good chat with the very knowledgeable owner
Not really a vegan place, mostly sell cold meats and non vegan cheese - Edit
Not really a vegan place because they mostly sell meats and non vegan cheese. Also very expensive for a sandwich. The man who works there is unfriendly. I bought a black coffee but won’t be going back. PS I don’t read responses to my reviews.
This is a very basic meat/ cheese deli with the odd (warmed up from frozen) vegan sausage roll or non vegan cheese sandwich. Salads are available but don’t visit thinking the establishment caters for vegans particularly, it doesn’t. Seating (hard chairs) but no toilets. The two star government hygiene rating is also rather off putting. Bread for sale at £3 plus a loaf, no thanks! Won’t be returning.
UPDATE Oct 2020 return visit has to tackle a one way system. Still mostly meat and non vegan cheese. Owner is not friendly and prices are very high. The downstairs has a display of very heavy glass gin bottles hanging precariously over the lip of a wooden crate about 10 foot high, very, very dangerous if they fell! The owner needs to address this asap. I won’t be revisiting.
Dear Geoff, interesting new name today. What's happened to Hermor? This is a fake review written by a sad lonely person who has actually never visited our lovely, multi award-winning deli. Geoff, or whatever your name is today, we really feel you would benefit from counselling, you clearly have a number of issues. Best wishes
Sorry I’m not sure who you are addressing here? If it is me, I’m sorry you don’t like my fair review. Perhaps concentrate less on sending silly senseless messages and more improving your hygiene score?
All the best, Geoff.
Such a great Deli with a recently opened Cafe just a few doors down. Doesnt claim to be vegan, the deli is actually a specialist cheese shop but both the cafe and deli offer some really great vegan options. Judging from some of the other reviews here I’d say this place is the victim of some ugly trolling. All the staff I encountered were super lovely. As I say, it’s not a specialist vegan place nor does it pretend to be
This is primarily a specialist cheese shop but with some really interesting vegan options by way of sandwiches, a good find in an otherwise bereft town
A nice cafe. Lots a windows, great for people watching. There were vegan options. The ones I saw on the board were; two choices of sandwich; avocado and carrot, plus another one with houmous (sorry can't remember it in full). Then there was a toastie which is what I ordered, it was houmous, roasted pepper and spinach. Was yummy. However, it was slightly overdone, plus they had put sea salt on the salad which was too salty (hence 4 stars). It also came with a lemony dressed salad plus crisps. There was a choice of soya or oat milk. Plus lots of cold drinks like smoothies. There were cakes, quiche and salads. However, I'm not sure if any of them were vegan. The staff were nice. There were social distancing procedures in place. Indoor and outdoor seating. I could see high chairs. Oh yes, you could choose white or brown bread. They did a children's sandwich which came with crisps.
Really rude and bad attitude towards vegans and allergies don’t know why they are bothering to offer vegan food when they seen to treat vegans with contempt. Really gone down hill since I visited last year.
Fantastic choice of vegan sandwiches and toasties. Very accommodating to vegans - Edit
Lovely little deli with a fab range of items to buy as well as a refreshingly exciting vegan offering. Two types of vegan sausage roll as well. The one we tried was amazing! Friendly service. A real find in Hunstanton amongst all the fish and chip shops and greasy spoon cafes.
Sorry but I have to say this is a slightly misleading review. Vegan options are extremely limited. Basically a standard meat /cheese deli. I would not be pleased if I paid to park and walked here expecting an “amazing” selection of sausage rolls!
