I got the cheese fries and buffalo chicken wrap. I didn’t love the cheese fries but really enjoyed the buffalo chicken wrap.

At least they're trying - Edit
I used to frequent diners all over Long Island when I was a vegetarian. Was excited to try and was excited by the amazing comfort vegan food items available. However it was pretty bland. Tasted like someone trying to make vegan food who had never cooked it before. Also the portions didnt exactly scream the almost $20 price. Hard to come here too often when 3 brothers is right down the road. But I'm absolutely willing to try again soon!

New menu on the way - Edit
About to launch a full 6 page vegan menu by the end of 2019. Update the bio on Lindenhurst diner please! I’ve added the new menu photos. :)

So you're aware since you have a happycow account, you can update it yourself for future reference. At the top of the screen, go to restaurants and stores and go to update listing. I just did it and said they added a 6 page vegan menu, and the most recent review posted the photos, but I didn't elaborate beyond that. You can if you'd like

Yum! - Edit
We had a good first time experience at this diner. I was shocked when they asked us if we wanted a vegan menu before they seated us. When we got the menu, I thought it was just going to be a few options, but the menu had a back and front!
Read moreI had the pancakes and tasted a bit of the burger and i couldn’t believe these were vegan. I did have to ask a few times as they tasted very traditional to me. They even managed to whip the earth balance like butter, the way you get it at diners. The pancakes were huge, perhaps too big for me, I couldn’t finish them. I was able to even have coffee too with some soy milk which diners does not usually offer.
I asked the waiter if he knew if they separated the food on the grill, he did say yes, but I’m not sure if that was true. He seemed sincere though.
I found the pricing was reasonable. But if you add extra to the burger it will cost a bunch more. To me seemed fair. Either way we were pleasantly surprised. We were so full we couldn’t try anything else, like the nachos. But we were satisfied with what we had. I would like to try something else of course next time. But it was a pleasant surprise.
I have to say I am glad they are a little far from me as I can’t go often, which is fine because the food is filling and yes heavy, which was still worth it. If you are on a health kick you probably won’t find anything other than traditional diner kind of foods. They even had grilled cheese and fries on the vegan menu! So yes how exciting for vegans! Oh and it was clean and the atmosphere was actually nice, I mean it was a nice sunny day.
Pros: Good amount of vegan options. , What we had was delicious. , Everyone could sit and have some food choices.
Cons: far from where I live., heavy food, NOT for dieters!

**Wish I could give 5 Stars!!!** - Edit
Half way into ordering, the very attentive waitress, Stella, realized that they had something else I should see.. Their Vegan Menu. The first item on the list blew my mind.. The Impossible Burger!!! The first diner I have EVER heard of, having an impossible or beyond option! Their vegan menu is good and growing, including cheeses, soy chicken dishes and more. They are currently testing out a number of new options to add including soups. They DO have almond milk for your coffee which also is tough to find at Diners..
Read morePeter, the owner, and his staff and family, are absolutely on the cutting edge of diet and food options. Diners everywhere should learn from what they are doing here.
Thank you for being awake, knowledgeable and proactive in making your menu an option for so many who are still left with so few options at such common and popular eateries.
I highly recommend The Lindenhurst Diner for your local vegan/vegetarian options.😃🙏🏽✌🏽👏🏽👍🏽🎉

As Good as it Gets For a Traditional Diner - Edit
I’ve been vegan for 10 years and it’s been a struggle to find vegan comfort food on Long Island. Outside of queens and Brooklyn, the rest of Long Island has long needed a diner that has many vegan options.
Read moreI went to the lindenhurst diner yesterday and my god was I blown away by the amount of choices. They have a separate VEGAN MENU. They have impossible burgers, homemade black bean burgers, vegan chicken, vegan cheese, delicious shakes and of course, the French fries were amazing! We got the vegan cheese fries, Impossible
Nachos. an impossible burger and a vegan chicken sandwich. The food was very good and it’s been so long since I was able to feel at home in a diner. You aren’t limited like you would be at any other diner. The Lindenhurst diner offers the most vegan options behind only Champs in Brooklyn. The owner spoke on how excited he was to add more vegan options, including many breakfast items such as tofu scramble and pancakes. Love this diner and we will be back! Vegans are welcome, y’all!
Pros: Tasty food , Big portion , Beautiful environment
Cons: Moderately priced

Not your Typical Diner - Edit
This is a cute little Diner with many options for All!! Staff is extremely helpful and has a friendly vibe. Place is very clean and they always have great music playing. They just started with a vegan menu and I have to be completely honest this is not an ALL vegan restaurant but it is a great place to get a delicious vegan meal. The Sandwiches are very good and so are the salads. I’ve been there maybe 10 times since they started the Vegan menu and the owners do take feedback with appreciation! They want to improve and are constantly changing items with better vegan quality. I made a few recommendations and they listened and wrote things down to see if they can get certain brand items. The following time I came in they had done all my recommendations. This is all new to them and they are willing to expand with it. Their head Chef is working on a pancake recipe and much more breakfast items too. This is the first DINER on Long Island that is giving us a Vegan option so we can enjoy with our friends and family who love to eat their Beef Burgers! Lol

So so. Needs improvement. - Edit
Went to lindenhurst diner today for lunch and got the impossible nacho, cheesy fries and the fried chicken sandwich on a pita (didn't know the sandwich came with fries already...) I actually really liked the sandwich but the other two weren't that great. The nachos were terrible. Needs a better cheese and more flavor. And the cheesy fries needs a different cheddar cheese brand but they said they'll be changing it soon which is great to hear. Other than that if you want to go out with family to the diner you got options now. I recommend that chicken sandwich 😋 Total for everything was $40? I think which is fine because it was a lot of food actually. Overall rating for the meal was a 7/10.

Mediocre at best - Edit
Ordered the veggie burger in a wrap, it was extremely mushy, very little flavor. They have extremely limited vegan options, the peanut butter vegan shake they offered tasted like peanut butter toast in a bad way, didn’t even finish it. Their fries were okay but nothing that you couldn’t get anywhere else. Only positive would be for going out to dinner with Omni family, but even those who I went with agreed their food wasn’t good either. Won’t be returning.
