First and Last

The Fat Vegetarian and I went in mid afternoon, not a very warm welcome, asked for a double espresso, only too be told that the filter coffee was excellent, rather have a double espresso thanks well we only have really good filter coffee! Asked for the menu, the staff member pointed to some chalk board's . Enough is enough, we exited. Don't need attitude, went to Serenity Now had an excellent lunch, clean, friendly Staff.

Pros: None that spring to mind.

Cool, busy, great dishes, good value

I haven't been here since the pandemic but it's one of my favourites so I'm looking forward to going back. I've always found the food really delicious and satisfying. The atmosphere is fun but not ideal if you want to have a chat or you're a bit tired as it is a loud busy place. Great value if you order a few things and share. Some dishes are too spicy for me but I can never remember which ones!

Pros: Really good food, Good value, Nice cosy space

Cons: Loud, No mention of where the dishes come from, Lots of high seats

Dishes are delicious

Love the food here as it's delicious. I also love that it's in season small plates as it's an excuse to try lots of different dishes.

Jackfruit curry and miso aubergine are always winners for me.

Great service, atmosphere, location and set up.

Overall, a bit pricey for the amount you get.

Pros: Great food, Creative, In season

Cons: Pricey

Good pub food

A very interesting menu, thoroughly enjoyed it. Mushroom rice wasn't for me but the rest was fab, tried kimchi for the first time!

Pros: All vegan, Friendly staff

Didn't enjoy my visit

I didn't really enjoy my visit here. I felt a bit judged by the staff that I was eating alone and felt like they were trying to hurry me out. The food was ok, nothing special. Make sure you know it's small plates and order a few things! I didn't know this and ended up with a tiny meal and searching happy cow for somewhere better to go straight after!

Scrummy!!

Salt & chilli cashews, jasmine rice, Mushroom rice pudding, pickled onions & shallots, Jackfruit curry, Sweet soy & coconut tempeh, black pepper aubergine and some other deliciousness!! One of the best meals I’ve had in a while, lovely friendly staff and very reasonably priced!! If visiting or in Glasgow would absolutely recommend a visit to this lovely little place!!

Boozy Brunch

Went for a Hug & Pint 'Boozy Brunch' when we were in Glasgow for the Celtic Connections 2020 Music Festival. Three dishes from the menu and three drinks all for £20. Delicious and imaginative food, nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Highly recommended if you are tired of the usual 'vegan' options available.

Pros: Interesting food, Good value, Nice vibes and people

Nice pre-gig food

I went to see a gig here on a Friday night and it was jampacked. I said to the barmaid "I wouldn't mind a bit of food, you know" and she cleared a no-show's seat for me, which was very nice of her. I had a jackfruit curry and a few pints of stout and it was spot on, if a bit mild. I asked for it hot and they said they could see about giving me a bit of hot sauce for a side and none appeared but never mind. The rice and curry were priced separately. The bowls looked fairly small but I ended up splitting it into three helpings and I was satisfied afterwards. The bands weren't amazing but I'm sure they have good bands on sometimes.

Pros: Tasty food, Near a subway station, Decent ale

Cons: Bit costly, The clientele make me feel old though I'm only 28

Amazing!!

We ordered the jackfruit curry, the sticky jasmine rice, the spiced lentils and the beer, potato and garlic porridge between two of us to share. Everything was incredible but the porridge was by far the best! I’ll definitely be back here!

Pros: Entirely vegan menu so lots of choice , Good value for money , Great staff/atmosphere

Ok, nothing special

We ended going here simply because it was raining hard and there was nowhere else to go. The place is all vegan and ok overall but nothing special. Food choices are actually quite limited. Fairly expensive.

Pros: All vegan, Service was good

Cons: Fairly expensive, Food was ok

Delicious small plates

All the options we ordered were delicious although rather salty. The food takes the form of small dishes which you order to share.

Pros: Delicious food, Nice atmosphere

Cons: A bit on the pricey side, The options we ordered were a bit salty

Worth the 3hr drive

My partner is from Glasgow and when we visit we always try to go for a meal at the Hug and Pint. I find a lot of vegan options have a "could make it at home" factor but that's definitely not the case here - the food is so good. We've also been with a lot of non-vegan pals who also really enjoy the food.

Something different

The food served is tasty but won't be for everyone. You can get a variety of plates to share and get a taste of lots of different flavours.

Pros: Dog friendly

Quick lunch

First time and very happy.
I got the mushroom and cashew nut curry and had to settle for a pint of fresh orange and lemonade.
Stunning food cant wait to go back and sample some more delicious food.

Great Asian flavors

The dishes look small but they are very filling and rich, so they're really quite perfectly sized. I was recommended 2 dishes plus rice but I struggled to finish that. These dishes are great to share and I'm happy to see Asian food in a pub rather than the usual burgers and chips.

Pros: Affordable, Cool venue

Fantastic Asian tapas and friendly staff

Visited for a pre-theatre lunch. Small wooden decor pub selling vegan Asian tapas. 2 dishes costing around £7 each and rice were more than filling and delicious. I had the coconut tempeh and the black bean curries. Staff were welcoming friendly and attentive. Will be back

Pros: Vegan twists on Asian cuisine , Good sized tapas, Friendly staff

Cons: None

Delicious food and beverages

We thoroughly enjoyed the delicious food here. The tapas style serves meant we got to try a bit of everything. We had the jackfruit curry, mushroom cashew curry, tofu and cucumber. Really flavoursome. Friendly staff and great service in a pub style atmosphere with live music venue downstairs

Great Food but far too noisy

I eat here regularly. The food is five stars but the music, toilet and seating reduce the rating to four. I preferred the old arrangement when rice was included in the price and it was cheaper before 5 o'clock. Since the system changed, it always feels like I'm being coaxed into to ordering more than one dish. Mind you, that's not a bad idea. It's all great.

Pros: The food is always very nice., No real ale but decent range of "craft beers".

Cons: Music is too loud., Toilet is dingy., Seating and tables aren't great.

28/08/2018 update: Went back with a friend for a meal. "Background" music was ridiculously loud so we turned around and went elsewhere.
