Delicious food served speedily, gorgeous pub garden setting even on a rainy August evening, friendly staff - I loved it. I had the dirty fries which were so tasty and husband had a chilli dog for nostalgia of his student days. Wish we’d eaten here every night of our visit!

Full of options - Edit
The menu had loads of options. Had a burger, which by the way comes with a mountain of fries. The food itself was nothing special, it was alright, a bit sub standard if I'm honest. Took one star off also because the toilets were pretty dirty, but maybe that's just me being too demanding. Their garden area seemed nice though.

The Gardener's Arms is absolutely, without a doubt, my favourite pub. It looks beautiful, the atmosphere is lovely, the beer garden is wonderful, the staff are knowledgeable on what drinks are vegan, and the food is great!

Amazing veg pub - Edit
Ahh this is literally the perfect pub!!! All vegetarian menu (mainly vegan, there is a vegan option for every dish), super cozy, the pub itself is over 200 years old!
Read moreGreat drink menu (mulled wine in the winter!), great bar staff, and just generally a great atmosphere.
I went there two nights in a row and loved everything I got. Portions are nice and big - perfect for when you're hungry after a long day walking around the city!

6 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Edit
Quirky decor, we sat in a back room which was cosy and comfy and warm with a mix of high and low tables. The food menu is clearly labeled and pretty much all the cheese options can be subbed for vegan cheese. We had a spinach olive and something calzone, dirty fries with extra Tofu rashers, vegan cheese and garlic flatbread and a chocolate orange tart for dessert. All of the food was incredible and the prices are fab, the beer was great too!

Great vegan food, great atmosphere, brilliant staff and COVID safe - Edit
Great service from two lovely guys. Found the restaurant when looking for vegan pub grub in Oxford when we visited and they were excellent about being COVID secure. We were greeted by a long haired, bearded gentleman who was very helpful and nice in explaining the pubs new procedures in keeping safe. Led us to our table and was very polite and speedy in getting our food out. Good generous portions which always helps and a mushroom pie and apple pie to die for! The other guy who was serving and at the bar was very friendly and chatty. Lovely atmosphere, very safe and secure but made you feel like you were in a normal laid back pub in not so weird times!

Lovely pub food - Edit
This little pub on the edge of Oxford is full veggie and many vegan items, all clearly marked. Standouts are the Philly cheese steak, and the healthy portions of fries.

Straightforward menu of uncomplicated "pub" food.Intetesting Messy chips for £5.50 was a huge quantity which could serve two! Cosy warm small pub in a residential street.

Whenever I'm in Oxford, I love to go to Gardener's Arms, both for the lovely veggie food and for the comfortable atmosphere. They were Oxford's first vegetarian pub, and offer lots of vegan options, including burgers (I like to add tofu rashers and all toppings), curries, and hot dogs. There is always a vegan ale on tap.

Meat free ale house - Edit
Stopped off for dinner in oxford on a road trip and found this place. Has the most reviews locally for a good reason. Clearly the most hipster place to hang out. It’s all beards, ale, bicycles, vinyl records etc. Loved it, wish it was nearer home.

Amazing pie - Edit
We initially wanted to try out Happy Friday Kitchen whilst we were in Oxford, but unfortunately it was too out of the way, so we opted for this place instead and were pleasantly surprised! Only vegetarian, but they offered vegan cheese and had a fairly large vegan menu (there was a vegan alternative for most of the vegetarian dishes). Really delicious food, especially the mushroom pie 💚

Great pub food and atmosphere with a vegetarian food - Edit
Great little pub that is just barely off the main drag in Oxford on Plantation Road (not to be confused with a pub by the same name on North Parade). Everything is vegetarian and most can be made vegan by requesting it. No call ahead seating and dinner isn't served til after 5, but we were able to find a spot on a Saturday night.

Watch out for non-veg drinks! - Edit
Nice pub - cosy and warm. I went for the southern fried style burger but it wasn’t southern fried at all. It was like a big chicken nugget - still nice but not southern fried - it didn’t have the seasoning or crispy coating that would make something southern fried so that was disappointing as I would have gone for something else had I known. Hummus and pita and garlic bread to start were all nice. Calzones that others had looked really nice too - crispy and cheesy. I would definitely go back and try some other food. However, I do find it misleading for a so called “vegetarian” pub to have non-vegetarian drinks like Crabbies. What’s so nice about veggie pubs is that it should be easy to order both drinks and food. Even a lot of non-veggie places are at least labeling their drinks as vegan friendly these days so this was really disappointing and one to look out for.

Simply amazing. - Edit
Very nice pub with a cosy decor and atmosphere. Staff was super friendly and the menu is extremely interesting: everything is vegetarian but there are lots of vegan options, from burgers, to curries, to a pot pie, to hod dogs. I can personally say that the vegan chilli hot dog is delicious and undeniably filling. The place is also carnivor approved: my friend (not even vegetarian) loved the vegan burger!!
Read more2nd time visiting: Since I had been to this pub once before and I had really liked it, I went back during my last visit to Oxford. This time I got the vegan burger, which was good, even though it didn't make my top ten list of vegan burgers. I found it a tiny bit dry and could have had a bit more flavour.

Oxford's greatest pub - Edit
Unrivalled vegan kitchen in Oxford, thanks to the many talents of the head chef. The bar is likewise adroitly run and the whole pub is fantastically friendly and a great place to spend any evening.
Read moreAs time goes by, it seems as though more and more vegan food appears on the menu; we are yet to order a meal that isn't delicious. If we had to choose favourites, we'd recommend the Southern fried chicken burger, the vegan Calzone, and the chilli dog (all with spicy fries, of course!)
And if you are around on Sunday nights, it's quiz time (wheyy!)
Pros: Fully veggie, The most satisfying vegan food in Oxford, Hot sauce and spicy fries
