Delish! - Edit
I ate here in May 2018, and the falafel sandwich and fries were so good! I'm pretty sure I fell in love with falafels afterward.

Delicious on-the-go food! - Edit
Delicious, filling, fresh and customizable food -- cheap, too! It's not really a place you can sit down and eat and chat, but it's perfect for getting something to eat while you walk and explore the city.

The food is worth putting up with the environment! - Edit
Yes, it's a hole in the wall. Yes, it's in a challenging neighborhood. Yes, the staff can sometimes be less than pleasant. But....the falafel, the fillings, and the chips, are awesome! I walk down Market to visit them every time I'm in SF.

A Fly-by Eatery - Edit
What I like about Flying Falafel that it's designed to be on-the-go food. They do have outside seating (limited) at both SF and Berkeley. But everytime I'm there I just want to fly-by and pick one up and go. Full pocket with the fixin' is amazing. 5 stars.

Cute little vegan spot - Edit
Really cute spot. Great for a quick bite Togo. Street food, but not so bad for you other than the fact that it’s fried

Amazing! - Edit
All vegan Mediterranean restaurant with the most amazing falafel I've ever had. I ordered the Combo 1 with the flying falafel. This came with a ton of hummus, pita, 5 falafel, 2 domades, lots of veggies, and a piece of baklava; us it is as much food as it sounds and yet it was only $10. one reviewer commented on the neighborhood, though maybe not the best you're fine walking there during the day even alone (at night I may want someone else to walk with me). SERIOUSLY, this place is a MUST if you are in San Francisco. Oh and get the banana milkshake as well!

chick’n shawarma rocked my world. will definitely be going again. my girl got the falafel hummus bowl and she liked it... just not as much as she liked my chicken shawarma. we both agreed it was the most realistic meat texture we’ve had since going vegan. my mouth is watering as i type this. shes right next to me right now, snoring. what a cutie. i love her. the fries were also pretty good!

Didn't order anything because walking in there felt like food poisoning waiting to happen. Small shack, no bathrooms and they were hardly helpful with the menu.

What's everyone in SF smoking? - Edit
I can't believe this place got so many good reviews. It was one of the reasons we visited it. With cannabis being legalized, I would love to smoke what you people are smoking. Firstly, the setting: just because it's a literal "hole in the wall", doesn't mean that it has to be dirty. The space is so small but at least make it appealing. Standing room only inside, and outside there only one table with a bench on either side. When I got there with my wife and my two year old daughter, there was some random dude sitting outside on the table. As we were waiting for our food to come out, it was evident that he is the other person on the shift. Did not bother to acknowledge us or even offer us a seat. It's a bit awkward to just sit my family down since there was only one table outside. We were the only ones in line. Now for the food.. falafels are so tiny! Don't even taste authentic. For a city that doesn't like cultural appropriation, either don't allow it at all, or at the very least get it right. The hummus tasted AWFUL. French fries? Forget it. Chicken shawarma wasn't advertised as vegan chicken, so if you don't have the happy cow app, you wouldn't even know. Also, any half decent place with an order of over $20 should probably include some free pita bread but no, it's $1.08 a pop. Needless to say now my wife and I are sitting with a stomachache and a headache in the hotel room.

Delicious food - Edit
The falafel was amazing. The portion was really big and the staff was amazing. I have a hummus bowl which, plus tax, is around 10 dollars, but it lasts me for 2 meals.

We had to get used to the habit of San Francisco to eat to go. There is just a little seating and you look out on a busy street.

Superb - Edit
My favorite out of the mains is the crispy chick’n: it really is crispy and stays that way! The falafel is pretty good, as is the chick’n shawarma. Get the plate for an extra 50 cents if you want a variety of veggies with hummus and pita bread. Their banana milkshake is yummy, as are their dolmas.
Read moreTook one star off because they never seem to have their cheesecake whenever I show up, and the seasoned fries were softer than I like (but might have been because I ordered take-out, which caused them to steam slightly before I ate any).
Pros: 100% vegan, delicious flavors, crispy chick’n
Cons: staff didn’t ask if we wanted whole wheat pita, never have cheesecake in stock, soft fries

Super good - Edit
We were going to the theater about two blocks away so we decided to hit up this place. It didn’t disappoint! We got the falafel pocket and the shawarma plate. So much food! Edit: Ordered it to be delivered and got the cheesecake this time. Oh yeah! However, I had asked for no pickles this time and for a lot of heat and well, it got pickles and no heat. So I took away a star.

Good Value & Super Filling - Edit
Everyone raves about their fresh pita and it truly lives up to expectations! I had the hummus bowl - TONS of hummus, sauerkraut, salad & falafels with pita. If I went back again, I’d have their pita pocket with fries in it. Their banana shakes are all dairy free & tasty.

Blown Away - Edit
Some of the best mock meat I’ve ever had, absolutely amazing. Took one star away because I ordered to go from online and realized only after walking back to my hotel that they never included my pita bread and included pickles when I asked not to. So check your order before you leaving to make sure it’s correct.

Mediocre falafel - Edit
The falafel was acceptable, especially compared to what you can find usually in the US. It was served warm rather than fresh out of the oil pot. The fries had much too much salt, barely eatable.

Best falafel - Edit
I tried the Flying Falafel using Uber Eats while visiting San Francisco. I had two types of falafel pockets- the organic sesame and spicy versions. I thought both to be among the best falafel I’ve ever eaten, although have a slight preference for the spicy version.
