vegan cupcake and brownie heaven - Edit
The Illinois St location bakes all vegan/gluten-free stuff. One case is the vegan/GF, the other has other cuppie selections baked in other locations. I am not GF, so I went in skeptical of how delicious the cuppies would be. I had nothing to worry about. I got a dozen carrot cake cuppies for a visitor's birthday who is a carrot cake connoisseur. He is an omni and not GF, and said they were the BEST carrot cake he's ever had! And they were huge. I've had others since, and have not been disappointed. They also have the most amazing brownies ever. They can get expensive, but GF baking is expensive.
Read moreI did get one bad thing here, and it was not a cupcake or brownie. I happened to stop in on a day they were offering a pan of cinnamon rolls in their case. I had guests, so I was like freaking perfect! Well, it was not so perfect. The texture was so horrible that I threw them away. They were cooked through, but the texture still seemed raw. Flavor good, texture horrendous. Hopefully that is not something they will ever offer again, gross.

I love supporting things that have vegan options. This place has had me as a customer many times. I think it is good but I prefer SmallCakes better. The taste was fine!

Amazing vegan cupcakes. Short answer. - Edit
Make sure you go to the one on Illinois St. There are a couple other locations but dont have nearly as many options. The Illinois st. location has the most vegan options and lots of variety. Half of their cabinet is vegan and gluten free. Im not gluten free but you cant tell at all that they are gluten free. The flavor is splendid, they are moist, they have the the right texture, they are just amazing. They are also large so it's more like youre getting a slice of cake than a cupcake. My personal favorite flavor is the Hoosier Buckeye (peanut butter chocolate). They also make new flavors often depending on the season, holidays, or just for fun. One time they even had Harry Potter cupcakes haha!
Read moreI know some people might see the gluten free part and get bothered, but im telling you, you wont know the difference. Ive shared these cakes with people who arent gluten free, heck, not even vegan, and they could not believe me when I said it's vegan/gf. I had to show them pictures of the place to prove it and they still couldnt believe it. And they loved it.
Also, they have two birthday flavor cupcakes. One vanilla and one chocolate. You get a free one (with purchase of at least any cupcake) on your birthday.
I also recommend getting a rewards membership with them. It's not a credit card or anything like that. Its literally just a point system everytime you get a cupcake(s). When you reach 100 points you get a free cupcake through that too. I have many points and was ablebto get two free cupcakes because it was my birthday AND I had over 100 points.
They also serve other treats like vegan cookies, brownies, cinnamon rolls, amd sometime donuts. (The donuts are not good though, that the only con).

Not sure what all the fuss is about. I went to the location on Massachusetts Avenue. They had only two vegan cupcakes on offer: chocolate and vanilla. I tried both and neither one was anything to write home about. Very plain tasting. The vanilla one was too dense and dry. I should have saved my money and my time.

Read moreThat said, there is no better place in Indy to get yummy vegan (and gf) cupcakes in such creative flavor combos. I've tried the Reeses cupcakes and the Bananas Foster and both were delicious! The texture of the banana cake was more successful than the pb cake, but the flavor was excellent in both.
So while I wouldn't spend $5 for a jumbo cupcake every day, this is a great option for the occasional treat and pick-me-up! I'm so glad it's here in Indy.

Cons: Pricey, Location is a little out of the way, Some cupcakes have a GF texture
