Fish’n’chips - Edit
The seafood basket was quite nice but a little bland. We made the mistake of ordering a side salad and it was clearly from the day before. Wilted lettuce, slimy tomato and dried out cucumber. The duck fries were different and yummy.

I love Fish Shack, except for the time they gave me real fish and I ate some and threw up in my car - but aside from that, I love it. Heaps of options, wheelchair accessible (for the most part), really sweet staff - I always get the schnitzel burger. Always made fresh too! Do not get seaweed fish tho, it’s bad.

I thought this place was going vegan? That’s what the signs said last year. Do they use seperate fryers? I hope so, but the vegan konjac fish is delicious better than the soy fish. I do like the soy fish though. Last time I was here I had the laksa and wow was it spicy but good. Liked the plant based chick’n.

Small shop in the CBD shopping centre serving vegan burgers, fries and vegan fish. All items on the menu albeit 2 from memory are vegan. You have to ask for the non vegan version which is a nice twist. The chicken burger was solid, but for me the Star was the hoisin duck loaded fries. They we’re so good. Drooling thinking about them now!

My non vegan partner ordered first and the service person asked him if he was vegan before just adding the order as vegan which I thought was really great. The fish tasted brilliant and I especially loved the veg calamari!

Really impressed with the Fish Shack’s faux fish (we had the soy seaweed “fish” beer-battered). Love that they are plant-based by default! Only outdoor seating, which was covered and had a heater (necessary for winter!). We also tried a vanilla oat milkshake, which was very thin — I’d recommend paying for the “extra thicc” option.

So impressed with the sausage muffin and fish burger - all vegan too! The egg is so close to the real thing, kinda scary, but everything is plant- based so must be better for you than the real thing 😂 awesome location too and great atmosphere at night. Junk food that’s worth going for 🤗

Love that they are plant based by default! Food is delicious, their vegan beef burger is probably the best I’ve had in Canberra, only thing that might beat it is Sydney’s Soul Burger. Milk shakes are also yum. Who needs LOTF when we have Fish Shack!

Hopefully 1 day they will go Fully Vegan and pop up all over the world. Loved the Fish Pieces and the pork belly burger. One downfall was that we ordered hoisin duck fries on the side, not knowing that fries came with the fish stack basket. Be didn’t want that much food so could have saved some money as it is fairly pricey. Order sensibly and the price is decent :)

This has an extensive vegan menu and seems vegan-friendly as they have hosted vegan days. It is very fast-foody and not healthy so be prepared for that. Uses different items for mock meat/fish which taste pretty good. I believe some may be deep fried in same oil as fish so check that if it bothers you. Outdoor seating.
