Enjoy it here - Edit
I’ve always enjoyed coming to this place, since I was a vegetarian. As a vegan, it’s still great, nice feeling, some good options, just not a great variety. Price is still good and staff are friendly. Recommended for a nice informal lunch or dinner. Vegan options are indicated.

Really yummy - Edit
Would definitely go back. We had vegan pancakes with bananas and syrup, but I want to go back and try the salads as they look amazing. The service was really quick despite it being busy. The cafe itself is so cute and chic and colourful! They also have vegan milkshakes which is an automatic 5/5 stars :)

Nice little cafe - Edit
We had breakfast here. I had the vegan full English and my 2 friends had the vegetarian breakfast. The tofu was really tasty and whatever they put in the baked beans was good! They had run out of oat milk when they’d just opened which was a shame but we still enjoyed our drinks. They have a nice decor inside and it’s on the top of a building so you get a nice view.

Bohemian cafe - Edit
The egg is very good. Lots of simple cafe meals, assortment of hot and cold food. We both got garlic cheese on toast with a mixture of all the salad. You get a lot of food for the price.

Great deal to get a full english vegan breakfast with orange juice for under £6.

Favourite place to eat - Edit
I love Egg Cafe!! The food is always so tasty & wholesome, they also seem to be offering more & more vegan options each time I go. The staff are always very friendly & helpful. The atmosphere is very relaxed & the building itself is so cool. It is really reasonably priced, plus you can bring your own alcohol with a £1 corkage fee. If you've never been go!!!

Rustic veggie hang out - Edit
I used to love this place but in my last two visits portions where tiny. They used to load plates with salad but now they just put a flat not as appetizing plate in front of you. It's a shame..with so much completion for vegans now this place needs to up it's game! Food is nice but you could easily make it at home!

Lovely - Edit
Fully vegetarian with vegan options. Nice food but the vegan options vary are a bit strange - you end up with a chilli/curry with a side of pasta and salad which is a bit strange to most people. Very nice food and very relaxed atmosphere.

Awesome Quirky Café - Edit
A laid back, quirky, warm and homely café! We was spoilt for choice with the options to choose from! My vege boyfriend and being vegan myself, we could easily adapt the choices available. We had a tai and coconut soup with homemade garlic bread, both outstanding. Followed by chickpea Dahl with the choice or rice or salad or both!

Not really eggy - Edit
I was slighly put off by the Egg name, but this place has enough vegan options. AI had a set menu, which included a pea & mint soup, a main, a drink and dessert. The bean burger was substantial, without a bun, but a little dense. The soup was very good. Service was slow.

Quantity not quality! - Edit
Large platefuls of food but food quality isn’t great. Vegan options were a bit limited - there was a vegan curry in the specials but it looked awful so I opted for a rather dull plate of hummus and salad with pitta bread. Not much in the way of vegan cakes. The menu is quite old fashioned and lacks imagination. However this is a fairly ‘ok’ place to find veggie food at reasonable prices. It’s got a long history in Liverpool but The Egg needs to change with the times to keep up with the competition- so many interesting and modern vegan options locally now. No alcohol but I think you can bring your own. Communal tables in a quirky setting with lots of colourful artwork. On the 4th floor and no lift.
Read morePros: No meat served - all vegetarian
Cons: Tired menu, boring options, Poor access, many stairs, Not much for vegans

Good prices and great service - Edit
I went there with some friend on a day trip to Liverpool. I was the only vegan so I was also the only one ordering a vegan full English, but the only difference was that I had tofu scramble instead of fried egg. The food was plenty and as good as a full English can be (I often find them a bit bland), however I didn't like the scramble at all. It was tasteless and at the same time bitter (I suspect too much tumeric was used). It's quite easy to make a tasty scramble and I wonder if no other spices but tumeric were used (kala namak for example makes great scramble and chilli also adds another layer of flavour, or herbs or spring onions would go well too). My friends were happy with their full English, and I was able to order an iced coffee although they don't have one on the table. Their salads and cakes looked good so I'd definitely go again on another trip!

Cons: need to work on their tofu scramble recipe

Definitely Need to Revisit - Edit
I can't believe i only visited this cafe once! everything on their menu looks and sounds delicious AF. I had the daily soup and toast (which comes with vegan butter) and it was the BEST TOAST I HAD. the thick slice of bread dipped into the lentil soup was just the thing i need to fuel my day.

A timeless classic - Edit
A quirky interior up the rickety staircase you will find yourself with a view over the centre of Liverpool if you get a table by the window. The Egg never fails to sort you out with a healthy meal from a friendly welcoming staff. I have to say I usually go for a bean burger when I go. Its beaut. You get a full plate of salad and some pitta. All for like £6, BARGAIN. I always walk out feeling fresh and healthy after eating there. Would recommend.

In spite of its name, the egg cafe was excellent for vegans! I had a lentil Dahl with pitta and coleslaw with garlic bread on the side. The Main also came with loads of salad dishes included and was very reasonably priced. Can’t recommend enough.
