This is my favorite restaurant ever. Seriously, they serve up the best ever vegan comfort food, 100% plant based. I've eaten there about 6 times so far, and I'm hoping to try everything on the menu before I leave Vilcabamba. Everything I've ordered has been amazingly good! Mico's Oasis Verde helps make Vilcabamba a wonderful place to be!!!! Chef Mico and his crew consistently create gorgeous and delicious plates, breakfasts, lunches, dinners, coffee, desserts, and weekly specials. Truly a special place, not to be missed if you're passing through Ecuador.

One of the Best Vegan Restaurants...anywhere! - Edit
We always use Happy Cow when heading somewhere, and having travelled the globe over many years we have sampled a huge number of the places listed on this site. Only once in more than 15 years have we visited a place that equals the standard, tastiness, creativity and presentation that the food at Mico's Oasis Verde offers. In other words, this is a once in a decade kind of place, and if you're in Ecuador (never mind just in Vilcabamba) then this is an absolute must-visit destination...vegan or not!

From a dish of 'drunken mushrooms' accompanied by an Andean type of parsnip topped with a rich mushroom gravy, to an edible 'burrito bowl' (made from green plantain) filled with nutritious pulses and veggies in a Peruvian style, this place has it all!

I was not expecting to find exceptional vegan food AND service in the town of vilcabamba. Only local produce and only the best is used. The dishes were perfectly spiced. Some Peruvian dishes are offered and are excellent. Best place in vilcabamba for vegetarian and vegan food. I will be coming back!
