Definitely would NOT recommend - Edit
We called ahead to make sure they were open and they said they close their kitchen at one. We walk in at 12:50 and stood there being ignored by all staff for five minutes. Finally when someone acknowledged our existence, they tell us the kitchen is closed. I said it wasn't one o'clock yet, so the employee reluctantly gave us menus.
Read moreWe ordered the falafel pita pocket, basic veggie burger, and Guajillo burger. It was all incredibly dry and bland. The falafels were inedible they were so dry and hard. The only decent thing we ordered was the red velvet cupcake.
Then there was the loud band. They were singing political songs about Bernie Sanders and not very well, might I add.
I will never be back and will never recommend this place to anyone. We drove over an hour to try this place based on the reviews on here already and what a mistake that was.
Pros: Red velvet cupcakes
Cons: Terrible service, Terrible food

Yummy! Good find - Edit
Everything here is vegetarian, with vegan options clearly labeled. The tofu scramble was more of a hash over potatoes, but it was really good! Plenty of seating. I do wish more of their baked goods were vegan since they clearly know how, and that's like the easiest thing to veganize. But overall it's a great low-key place with lots of options!

Epitome of College Town Diner - Edit
Lots of Vegan options.
Read moreAbsolutely love the V pancakes. Got the V hash dish, not not sure what it was - home fries with veg on top, maybe tofu, no soy meat so not the Tofu Scrambler - It was okay. I like cooked carrots or raw but that in-between space is not my favorite, home fries were yummy.
Omni friend got chicken egg scramble with soy chorizo. Said it was a little spicy. Didn't finish and took home to partner.
Atmosphere was small diner, artsy, comfortable. Groups of all ages.
Pros: Vegan choices , Yummy foods
Cons: Upcharge on non dairy milks, Charged prices higher than menu taped to counter

Frisco melt and fries - Edit
Nice place and friendly staff. Unfortunately the Frisco Melt was pretty average. Bread was to thick and burger patty to thin. The fries had way to much salt on them.

So many vegan options! - Edit
Basic deli menu with so many clearly marked vegan options. I opted for the V BLT, which tasted a lot like the original. I'd definitely come back and try more items.

Vegan pancakes! - Edit
I love this place! Good service, nice atmosphere & everything I’ve had has been good. Breakfast all day & delicious vegan pancakes! I think breakfast/brunch is the hardest meal to eat out as a vegan so extra grateful for this local gem. Great lattes too!

The Best Vegan Sweets! - Edit
My favorite vegan treats here are the vegan cupcakes - especially the chocolate cupcakes with chocolate icing, and even better are the vegan zucchini bars...and the vegan "powerballs". They typically have 4-5 choices every day, and I'm rather fond of their "Tofu Scrambler". I enjoy their coffee choices, and typically get some beans/ground to take home.

one of my favorite spots in normal - Edit
I really like this place and wish I had it closer to home. The vegan pancakes are delicious. The coffee is always good. I love that there's always nice art on the wall... Often local. I've been here enough times to have good and... very bad falafel. The vegan red velvet cupcakes are something I make special trips for when I'm in the area. They're amazing and I love them.

Super Friendly - Edit
Friendly atmosphere with a few vegan options for breakfast and lunch! The staff was super nice. Everything vegan was clearly labeled. Very affordable too. 5 dollars for a breakfast sandwich! I got the spicy fu sandwich, the tofu wasn’t that flavorful but I was hungry and it was satisfying. The bread what really good, tasted really fresh

For the campus vegetarian - Edit
Perfect edition to the campustown environment noted many older customers like ourselves as well. Local artwork on the walls a stage for poetry and live music. Food was decent and relatively cheap I just wish the kitchen knew what spices were as the food was rather bland. Salsa was fresh but no flavor. a little more attention to the food and this would definitely be five stars.

good food and good coffee - Edit
Have eaten here several times. They have good coffee and good veg food. The style is much more college cafe than fine dining. I have to give props to their baked goods, don't skip dessert!

More Than a Coffee House! - Edit
Two of my kiddos and I were in Normal, IL. for a musical and of course, I used my Happy Cow app to find out what our options were. I was pleasantly surprised by the number of options for such a little town. We were within walking distance of a few, all of which were great, but our favorite was The Coffehouse and Deli. It is in a college town and the atmosphere was quite nostalgic. The employees were very friendly and the food was great! For breakfast we had the vegan pancakes. I had banana, the girls had chocolate chip and we devoured them. Dinner consisted of veggie burgers and spiced fries and, again, we were not disappointed. They were out of vegan mayo, which is house made, but they were so thoughtful that they made more right then. For dessert we had vegan red velvet cupcakes, words cannot even describe how good they were, you just have to try them for yourself :)
