Chill vibe, awesome service, tasty food - Edit
The Burrowing Owl is the vegan place to eat in Colorado Springs. When you’ll enter you’ll understand with its down-to-earth pub vibe and exceptionally friendly staff.
Read moreThe menu may be described as comfort food and a bit of Midwest-Mex. The loaded nachos were ridiculously tasty and filling.

This is the PLACE - Edit
My favorite vegan spot!! Food is simply incredible. Good size portions, good ingredients, large menu, excellent staff, I would eat here daily if I lived in town. BLT is a staple for my visits, but I have yet to try something I dislike here.

The Burrowing Owl is so cozy and fun! The atmosphere is funky and welcoming, plus the food is great! Great for casual date night or out with friends. I am obsessed with their Greek sandwich and their pastas.

MUST VISIT - Edit
The vibe at this place is unlike any other. Amazing vintage decor, such sweet staff and the BEST food. I got the taco salad at the recommendation of the server, my wife got the Philly Mac which was amazing and then we also tried the ding dong cake. 15/10 if you’re even remotely close you have to stop in!

The Burrowing Owl is fantastic! Their menu is packed with excellent choices and huge portions. You’ll leave satisfied and ready to come back for their daily specials. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere is cozy and rustic, and their drink selection has something for everyone. If you’re in the Springs, there’s no better vegan bite.

Lovely vegan spot - Edit
We loved the food & the fact they don’t cook with oil! The staff was so nice & the food was delicious. We had the daily special of a chimichanga. It was my hubby’s birthday so we indulged in cake & a cupcake. Both excellent! The ambiance was really cool!

The vibe here is fun, the service friendly, and the food is great. I almost didn’t come because of reviews comparing it to Taco Bell but I thought the nachos were on an entirely different level than fast food.

Vegan Taco Bell - Edit
I only tried the Mexican food and it was good. I wouldn’t say amazingly flavorful, but it reminded me of Taco Bell flavors. I would eat here again.

Would love to come back! - Edit
Came here by myself on a whim. I live really far up north so I’m not usually in this area but I would love to come back. Delicious drinks and the vegan spicy mac I had was one of the best things I’ve ever had. Very friendly staff and I loved the atmosphere inside!

Fantastic Kitsch find - Edit
Man I love Happy Cow for showing us local delights beyond obligatory Taco Bell/Subway in places like Colorado Springs. This place is amazing - super kitschy, cute, full of character and AMAZING selection of food and beverages. The menu is more American-Mexican with huge nacho plates and crunchwraps and burritos. A must go when traveling through (or if you live here!)

Felt welcomed & enjoyed a great meal - Edit
Incredibly attentive workers and great variety of vegan food. We got the salt&pepper Mac and Cheez & deff wished it was more “creamier” but the taste was okayyy; (there’s a spice that’s off) will get it loaded next time. The Nooch-Os and was the best! We are big nacho lovers and loved the portion and flavors! The space is incredible ! Outside is great for companion dogs & smokers ! Can’t wait to head back!

Good effort, poor result - Edit
After reading reviews of past guests, we had higher hopes than what we experienced. The servers are friendly, but the food lacked any flavor and had poor presentation. The burrito had residual water pooled on the plate from poor draining of the vegetable toppings, the veggie tray lacking good preparation, etc. There were also questionable sanitary practices by having water dispensed from plastic instead of stainless steel or glass.

All around Fabulous! - Edit
So many delicious options! Seven layer dip was a great start to this experience. The red curry bowl was amazing; Perfect amount of spice. My husband had the Tuesday special - air fried chimichanga. Generous portion and tasty. Loved the Riva Stout from Holidaily brewery - vegan & gluten free….what??? Took a slice of Sweet Elizabeth’s Organic Chocolate Strawberry cake(gluten free) to go! And yes, it was as good as it sounds!!! Amazing!! Staff was so friendly and knowledgeable. Wish we lived across the street from this place. Will definitely be back next time we are in Colorado Springs:)

Ok but not great - Edit
I haven’t tried all options on menu- tried the mac and cheese, burrito, sloppy - just didn’t like the taste of any if these - the fake crumbled meat is made in house but it just doesn’t taste good (tastes like meat), they put too much of it (almost made me sick), the taste of the cheese is not good - all tastes fake/chemical taste. I really liked their homemade green tea and the bar atmosphere. It’s a cool looking venue but the food is mediocre at best.

The vibe in here was to die for. The employees were super sweet and helpful. I got the supreme nachos, a cherry chocolate cake, and an on-tap mango passion fruit kombucha. My partner bought a crunchwrap with a side of queso.
Read moreThe nachos were good. I had the cherry chocolate cake a couple hours later and I wasn’t a fan. For $7 I was super disappointed with the moisture and taste; the icing was good though.
One of the FOH and a guest told us about a sister restaurant by the same owners called Fern’s that we will be trying out.
