Delicious fancy vegan dinner - Edit
We did the chef's menu and it was incredible. The mushroom cereal dessert was so delicious and usually dessert is my least favourite part of a meal!

Incredible food - Edit
I’d call this a fine dining restaurant, with the menu (which is a little confusing in terms of what you’re actually ordering) and the prices, but the food is so worth it. This is what I’d call a perfect first date place for a romantic dinner with a focus on the food. The outside seating is beautiful and the service was outstanding as well

Great plating and flavours - Edit
Not entirely vegan but an easy place to eat for a nicer sit down vegan meal. The locations doesn’t feel as fancy as the food but the service and meal is worth it.

A unique experience - Edit
The last time I went I had the set menu. It was really cool being able to try some very different dishes, all very delicious. A bit pricey but I’d say worth it for a cozy date!

Good food - Edit
I love the acorn! Recommend anything on the menu, however, the service isn’t so great. They are quite slow - even when they aren’t slammed, staff are somewhat nice most of the time, it’s a small spot and cozy. I definitely recommend coming here if you’re going on a date, or introducing a friend to vegan food :)

Kind of expensive but good - Edit
The menu was very well planned out and I love that local, wild plants were incorporated into the meal. Great for a special occasion, but not if you’re wanting a lot of bang for your buck.

Good, but not the best - Edit
So this place ranked as the best vege restaurant.. it was good, but wouldn’t say it was the best meal of my life. Food looked great, some dishes tasted better than others. Good drink. Overall fine but only if you are vegetarian. If you are vegan then well, you might be disappointed

Very cute little place, was very excited to try due to all the hype. Was underwhelmed by the food. Visited this restaurant serveral times. Had to send a dish back because it was too salty. Desserts were the best part.

The best vegan restaurant ever - Edit
Unreal food. So much flavour and creativity in the food that makes you really appreciate when eating. Everything I get there is SO good. The chef does a really great job. Service is amazing as well. Very obvious to why they have won many awards.

Good food, lovely presentation - Edit
We had the chef's tasting menu so we all got to sample three appetizers, three main dishes and three desserts. Food was creative and included different tastes that I would not have thought to put together. Some of it worked well, some not so well. Service was excellent. Desserts were just OK.

Fine dining, worth the price - Edit
I have been here once, for an early dinner. I was really glad we managed to get a table, because the dining room seemed to fill up very quickly after I was seated. The restaurant is dimly lit and the seating feels very intimate, kind of cosy-chic.
Read moreMy dining partner and I ordered three courses: one appetizer, two mocktails, two mains, and two desserts (grand total: about $95). Almost all of the menu options could be served vegan. The food was delicious; I loved the complex interplay of flavours. The menu describes dishes as collections of ingredients, and I appreciated how every dish was so deliberately constructed. Everything was beautifully plated, and the service was attentive, but not intrusive. While The Acorn is more expensive than other veg restaurants in Vancouver, I think it fills a unique niche and the dining experience here is worth the money.
Pros: The food was really good, The service was excellent, They have sparkling water on tap
Cons: It's on the expensive side

Fine Dining - Edit
This is a popular restaurant with a tight seating arrangement.
Read moreThere is a set menu with some options (including vegan) for each course for $45. The food is really good and fresh. There are lots of tasty combinations for each plate, perhaps too many. Nonetheless it's a great place to come if you want a fine dining experience, and pay for it.
Pros: The food
Cons: Expensive

This is my favourite restaurant - Edit
Without a doubt this place is my favourite. Foods are organic and foraged. Almost everything can be veganized if it isn’t already vegan. There are also many gluten free options as well as a raw dish. I come here as often as I can because the food is seriously art.

Disappointing - Edit
This place has a great vibe and its very romantic and cozy but the food was a big let down. I came here on 2 seperate occasions first time was ok the nettle soup I had was really good and the rest of my meal was ok. The second time I went the food was awful it was not nice. I didnt eat my starter or main and didnt stay for dessert. Servers were nice though.

Very interesting flavours! Portion sizes on the smaller side. - Edit
I would suggest arriving early, or making a reservation if applicable, as I tried to go another night but couldn't wait 45+ minutes :(
Read moreComplimentary sparkling water! Service was friendly and quite prompt. We split the Carrot appetizer to start, which was a cashew carrot dip with chips. Very smooth consistency and unique flavour. Had the vegan version of Ramp for a main, which was truly delicious. The portion sizes were just a bit too small. I could have easily also eaten a dessert but I had other plans.
Overall, I really enjoyed the experience, although it was on the expensive side as well. (~$20/main)
Pros: Nuanced flavours, Sparkling water! :)
Cons: Portion sizes are small, Expensive

Vancouver Gourmet at its Best! - Edit
We visited the Acorn for the Dine Out menu, and were blown away by the amazing tastes and flavours of this 3 course meal!
Read moreAlthough we arrived towards the end of the night on a weekday with a reso, we still waited about 30 minutes to be seated at a table. Staff were lovely and apologetic, though, so it wasn’t too bad.
For starters, we ordered the Kale and Brussels Sprouts. The Kale Caesar was incredible! Flavours were rich and the tempeh was perfectly toasted. Mains were the Brassica and Pasta. Cannot even describe the richness and the imaginative blends of flavours here. Each was unique and utterly worth it.
Finally, we had the lemon cheesecake and apple beignets for dessert. At this point, we were so full we couldn’t finish all of it, but took the rest home for a great snack for the next day.
All in all a fantastic dining experience. Love the atmosphere and greenery; feels intimate, but can get a bit crammed when busy.
Pros: Flavourbombs!, Lovely staff
Cons: Quite pricey, best for special occasions, Can feel very packed during busy hours

QUITE THE EXPERIENCE - Edit
I may just have an idealistic perception of my experience at the acorn because I’m a poor student, honestly this is the best dining experience I’ve ever had. They have many vegan options and the service is impeccable (prompt, kind, and know the menu very well). This is certainly a place to go on a very special occasion that calls for wonderful veg food! Very great date spot! Causal and not pretentious but still and elevated dining experience! You have to get three courses if you go!

nice option - Edit
Small, laid back, table service restaurant. Suggested by our hotel because of its recent recognition for top vegetarian restaurant. Checked it out on line and found they noted vegan option on the menu, which is always appreciated. We were there on one of the warmest nights- no AC. Enjoyed the free still and sparkling on tap water. We started with a panzanella salad, which was created with baby heirloom tomatoes and topped with smoked paprika and ground sunflower seeds. Loved the smoky earth flavors! Entree was a garden pea tagliatelle pasta, pickled ramps, preserved meter lemon creme fraiche and topped with almond ricotta cheeze. Nice wine options. There craft cocktails looked good. Eclectic neighborhood.

Cons: special wasn't vegan, no AC
