Healthy, tasty and refreshing food options!

It was great to find a place with healthy vegan options on our drive through Amarillo. Just off I40, the Acai Bar had a good variety of things for us to choose from. The owner was especially friendly and accommodating of our food requests, including our son who has a severe nut allergy. We will definitely be back!

Pros: Vegan options, fresh food., Friendly service.

Good product

Had a BYO Cocowhip ice cream. It was good, but the ice cream was a little tangier than I expected from ice cream. Not bad, but different. Friendly service. My only issue was the use of plastic disposable bowls and spoon for the ice cream.

Pros: Tasty

Cons: Disposable plastic

The chemicals used in paper straws, plates, etc., contains chemicals that are toxic to both us and the environment. All the so-called "solutions" are actually just the same problem in a different disguise and designed to make someone rich (clue: it's not one of us useful idiots.)

Interesting. I wasn’t aware of the impacts from paper disposables being worse than plastic disposables. Nonetheless, I strongly prefer reusables for dine-in purposes, which does seem to still be best regarding environmental impact. I’ve gone so far as bringing my own containers to restaurants to avoid disposable takeout containers.

Acai bowls!

We got the Hawaiian. So good. I would prefer a little less sweet on the acai but it was still delicious.

I was driving through Amarillo and stopped here for some breakfast. I loved mixing the oatmeal and one of the açaí bowls. Yum!

Nice Find

We were passing through Amarillo & I found the açaí bar on the happy cow app. Traveling with a family of meat eaters, in the land of BBQ, this was a sweet find! My choc-a-maca bowl was loaded with fresh fruit & was filling.

Pros: Staff had good recommendations , Nice selection of vegan options

Good breakfast, snacks and smoothies

Stopped by on a road trip and was happy to find healthy breakfast options here. Vegans make sure to specify no honey.

Only drawback is lots of plastic. It would be great if they could use plant-based compostable containers and provide a separate bin to collect them for actual composting.

Try the Nutty Buddy Bowl

As there wasn't many vegan choices where we were staying in Amarillo The Acai Bar was a pleasant surprise. The owners were lovely and let us try a couple of samples (also try the passion bowl). Instead of getting a 8oz to yourself why not get the 16oz to share for a $3 saving. There was definitely enough for me and my partner and they let us take out the agave and have gluten free granola instead. We thought the prices were reasonable especially after what we had been paying in some of the bigger cities. The owner was also very passionate about healthy foods which was great to hear.

Pros: Healthy Eating, Lots of Fruit , Ability to alter the bowl

Good, but expensive

Couldn’t decide what to get so the cashier suggested the butter buddy bowl. It was very good and has lots of peanut butter. I subbed out the raisins for extra blueberries and added protein. Also, they offer toasts now and I got the one with hummus. It was pretty good, but when the bowl arrived it was tiny. I didn’t realize I’d get such a small portion and that you can order different sizes. Still, for the small size I got, it was quite expensive and I ended up going back up to get a smoothie to go since I was still hungry.

Pros: Lots of vegan options, Cashiers have great suggestions and are friendly

Cons: Expensive, Small portion for price
