Small restaurant opened summer 2018 by the owner of the Thai Vegan on Main St. The menu here is more extensive, and the style is more sit-down dining. Offers Thai curries, fried rice and noodle dishes, various stir fries, papaya salad and other salads, soups, and several kinds of appetizers. Uses tofu and soy chicken. As of April 2024 has a separate vegan sushi counter. Open Mon-Sun 11:00am-10:00pm.

Serves meat as of Nov 1, 2024

Food was good. Most of the menu is still vegan, but I was sad to learn when we got there that they serve meat now.

Pros: Casual , Many vegan options

Cons: Serves meat

Amazing!!

The food at both establishments were out of this world. The seating was a bit rough but the delicious food and wonderful service made up for it.

Pros: Amazing taste, Large menu, Great service

Cons: Seating

Very good :)

I got the orange chicken and the fried dumplings and really liked them! However the dumplings were a bit dry and didn't have much filling.
The staff was super kind

Pros: Orange chicken, Very nice staff

Cons: Couldn't split the bill, Not enough filling in dumplings

Top Quality

Every time I visit my daughter in Santa Monica, I must have something from Thai Vegan II, which is luckily only a few blocks away. The taste and quality are fantastic.

Pros: Flavor, Quality

Not a Fan

Ordered the lunch special; masamon curry, which was salty and not very curry tasting. Also the description stated that there was fruit included, which was not received. And the picture showed salad, which was not served. I should’ve known that it wasn’t going to be good when the food was served on paper plates and bowls and plastic utensils.

Cons: Hated everything about this place

10/10 would go back

It's a little restaurant by the dmv, with meater parking nearby.

The Larb Salad was delicious, having many flavors that were well-balanced. The soy chicken had a unique flavor to add to the greens salad 🥗. I ate the whole thing before eating the soy orange chickens, which was a big plate with added white rice.

Definitely will be coming back. I also saw a sign that says vegan sushi is coming soon.

Pros: 1. Larb Salad, 1.Orange Chicken , White rice

Worth the visit…

I mean it wasn’t spectacular, but it wasn’t totally disgusting either. I got the satay with soy chicken which wasn’t bad. I’ve had better peanut dipping sauce elsewhere, but the mock meat was well cooked. I also had the pad krapaw with soy meat which was a bit soupy for my liking, but tasty and filling nonetheless. I would come back to try their curries next time. The restaurant space is decent enough and the server was nice.

Pros: Good selection of Thai classics

Cons: Street parking can be difficult

not horrible but not … good ??? too harsh?

it was quick and easy that’s for sure! we ordered the orange chicken (phenomenal), the pad thai (ok and a big portion!), the veggie roll (nothing to write home about but fine and bigger than expected. had a few bites that tasted strange), and the steamed dumplings (tasted like raw pizza dough, maybe they were not cooked ? we couldn’t eat them. saved them to steam or fry ourselves. play dough vibes). orange chicken was definitely the star of the show, so crunchy and the sauce was delicious! i’ve definitely had better thai food, this does not measure up!

Pros: fully vegan , quick, ORANGE CHICKEN!!!!

Cons: most people have probably had better, uncooked (?) dumplings ?, not a lot of flavor

Terrific curry, best experienced in person

Our usual Thai place is the original Thai Vegan, and we almost always do take-out there. Recently we happened to stop in at Thai Vegan II in person for dinner, and holy crap! Not only do the portions seem quite a bit larger in person, we also both got what we agreed is some of the best Thai food we've had in a long time.

We got green curry and pad thai, and both were really delicious. What you get for the price here is way better than most LA restaurants; our $14 entrees easily contained enough for lunch the next day as well.

Can't wait to go back here. Don't miss this spot if you're visiting the area!

Pros: Large portions, Friendly staff

Cons: Not a lot of seating

Tasty food and convenient

This was right near our hotel and made a great lunch place after we arrived. Portions are very generous we had plenty for leftovers. We got the massaman curry with tofu and the stir fry noodles with tofu. Also the fresh wraps.

Pros: Service, Everything is vegan!, Comfortable seating

Cons: Outside seating was right on road

Not very taste

Sorry I can not recommend it this time. The food was blend with taste of can sauce. Very expensive for what it is and meat substitution is tofu. It looks beautiful but not very taste. We ordered the PadThai and chicken kung pao.

Updated from previous review on 2023-06-03

Pros: 100% vegan, Portion size big

Cons: Tasteless food, Meat substitute is tofu extra for soy substitute, Not many options for drink

Solid, delicious options!

I got the lunch special and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very easy service, not the most populated restaurant but the food is very good. My second time here and it did not disappoint!

Pros: Great service, Reasonably priced

Mid

I stopped by here for lunch because I was in the area. I got the tofu and vegetable lunch special. The food was really mid tbh. I probably won’t come here again.

Mmmm!

I like this place! The food is really good. I can taste the love put into all the flavors. I had the spicy noodles with a side of steak rice and a Thai iced coffee with almond milk.

Tons of options!

We ordered the fried egg roll, massaman curry, and orange chicken. I forgot to get photos of the last 2 options but I’d suggest the orange chicken for anyone trying this place for the first time. Minus 1 star because the food came out too hot and we had to wait for at least 10 minutes for it to cool down😅

All the dishes taste the same

Even though I live around the corner, I've only had take-out twice. It isn't very appealing - neither food nor ambience.

Really bad sorry…

I really don’t know how to start… the food quality is really low, I had a pad Thai, and it really didn’t taste like nothing at all, I had to add several limes and soy to give it some flavor… my boyfriend ordered a tofu noodle soup,$13… and it was a paper CUP, super small soup, where we couldn’t find noodles until the end of the soup, there were a couple tiny and broken noodles at the bottom of the cup…
Aside of that, if you want water, $1. They don’t give you a glass of water.
And you will get paper plates, and plastic forks if you eat in there…
I normally like all the vegan restaurants I go, there’s always something good, and they care about details, in this case, the experience couldn’t be worse😒 #Veganuary

Pros: The waitress was very nice

Cons: Charge for the water, Lack of taste, Paper and plastic utensils to eat in there

Best thai on westside

Food is clean, fresh, and made with love. I always feel good after eating any of their offerings. The sweet lady who runs the joint is an angel. Support local small business! #Veganuary

Pros: Plenty of options, Fair prices, Offers delivery

Cons: Cant think of one

Wanted to like it

But everything was weak- soupy curry, hard rice, and weird thick spongy coating on the orange chicken. :(

Thai Vegan II

Sadly, this was terrible vegan takeout. Tom Yum was super flavorless. Papaya salad was not good…no flavor. Green curry was awful. I would not order from here again.

Best Vegan Thai Tea

I honestly want to give the food 3 stars, but the vegan thai tea is the best I’ve ever had, so I’m bumping it up to 4 stars.

I ordered the pad thai, which was good, but not as impressive as other pad thais I’ve had. It’s light and not very flavourful.

The thai tea, on the other hand, is amazing and a good enough reason to check this place out!

Pros: All vegan, Vegan Thai Tea

Not As Good...

The pad thai was not as good as the Thai Vegan. The egg rolls were delicious, but I would recommend going to Thai Vegan rather than Thai Vegan ll.

Pros: Lots of vegan options.

Cons: Not as good taste wise.

Open during Covid for takeout

Fantasic Yellow curry. Easy to order. Easy to park in the back off alley for pickup. Pad thai could be better. Steamed Dumplings and sauce perfect. Friendly staff.

Pros: Open during covid, Delicious
